The woman allowing poor cut up animals to be shoved up her hooch, is so lucky she didn’t get an infection. That whole story was sad-the dead animals-and gross-where the cut up animals were put.

She did, she had a raging infection that spread to her brain, which is why she behaved the way she did 😮

Luckily poor Mary Toft was not scared by an elephant! Now, you wouldn't think stuffing dead animal parts up your birth canal would be a sanitary thing to do. But, as fate would have it, in 1728 Mary gave birth to a baby girl whom she lovingly nicknamed "Bunny".

Did she really nickname her bunny? 😳 Oh my, that daughter must have hated that. 😂
Is it possible that Jane Lewson in fact were two different persons? If she was so reclusive that she hardly met anyone, could her daughter, who allegedly died before her, at some point have taken over Jane Lewsons identity? Could it have been Jane Lewson who died, and her daughter simply moving in assuming Jane’s identity?

I have read similarly of Jeanne Calment, a French woman who lived to the age of 121.

Thank you for another well researched, engrossing, and beautifully presented video. Your narration is such a pleasure even when the matter at hand is grim. You always have compassion for your subjects where it's due. 🐇🐷 I want to fall asleep to a playlist from your channel but the stories are so interesting and only found on Forgotten Lives (if they're elsewhere, I don't care to look)-I can't help but pay attention. Best wishes from 🗽

Certainly some interesting people! I think it would have been lovely to get to meet the two ladies in Wales. Talks and flower gardens over tea seems like a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
Mary Toft was only one generation separated from some of the last witch trials in the British Empire. She was fortunate to have been exposed by men of science rather than those of superstition.

Very interesting! This video cut off before the end of the last story of Dr. William Price. (Waaaaah!!) I see that others have caught this as well. I hope in your next release or in a reply to this comment, you provide some explanation as to this abrupt and somewhat disappointing gaffe. Thanks all the same for consistent content quality.

The lesbian love story deserves a movie wow cant believe it's such a wholesome true story Makes me happy that they were able to be relatively "out" and even famous and influential! Received very little homophobia and was even able to meet royalty and famous poets etc.
Interesting! Thanks

I loved the video of the Rabbit woman, unbelievable how could they believe such things!
i remember the older people in communities always say, in early pregnancy 1-4 weeks do not be scared or hate any animal/creatures because you child would take on a resemblance of the animal or have the some of its characteristics

Lady Lewson's lifespan was probably helped by not remarrying and having more children. Her reclusiveness would have prevented disease exposure. Not sure I believe she made it past 100 but into her 80s, sure.
Thank you.

They couldn't find anything to charge her with??? How about cruelty to animals😮 wow!!! I mean killing a bunny in order to put food on your table is way different than cutting them up to stick them up your "who haw" ... disturbing and vile... i feel awful for those poor rabbits, and the kitty... that's just sick and wrong 🐇 😫 🤮

Sadly, the life of animals wasn’t as protected as now.

I'm pretty sure Animal protection societies were created BEFORE child protection ones
Two women who eloped together, shared almost their whole lives together until death did them part, called each other "my beloved," were buried in the same grave, and had multiple dogs named Sapho? Obviously roommates! A man and woman just barely look at each other? Clearly they're a couple! SMDH
So Jane Lewson was said to have a great memory for events that probably no one around her could remember or fact check - hmmm ....
Loved this video. It was fascinating until it sounded like it abruptly stopped with “they paid him”. Paid him what in chickens or pennies? 😁 thank you for all your research 🐝🐝💐
