Crazy Arcade in JAPAN!!! - KOWLOON WALLED CITY (Kawasaki Warehouse)
Фильм және анимация
WARNING - DON'T book your travel through Expedia - they are super sketchy! So many people have reported being double or triple-charged by Expedia.com - and Expedia has refused to refund duplicate charges caused by glitches on their site and app. I don't know if travelocity and hotels.com are as sketchy, but they are owned by the same company. I will be trying competitor Priceline in the future.
The Kawasaki Warehouse is a huge arcade in Kawasaki Japan (about 30-40 minutes from Tokyo by train). The coolest part of the arcade is a section modeled after Kowloon Walled City, a crowded urban nest in Hong Kong that was demolished in the 1990's. Kowloon inspired the settings of many fictional video games, animes, and movies.
The Kowloon section of the arcade houses classic game cabinets such as Darius, Outrun, Street Fighter, and Gauntlet. ウェアハウス 川崎店 • ウェアハウスカワサキテン

This looks like a dream to go to. I'm so sad they shut down just last November. I hope the owners and creators find other ways to bring such amazing creations to life.

That restroom must be annoying to clean since its supposed to look dirty., You cant tell if its clean or not.

Watch the video again - pay very close attention and you'll notice that the actual porcelain (urinals, toilets, sinks) is spotlessly-clean white. It's the walls, floor, etc that look dirty. :)

This is a recreation of an actual neighborhood that used to exist in Hong Kong. It's since been demolished.

@@becca9226 I can believe the tight buildings, but a melting hole especially constructed for it, and a pool of green toxic stuff... Not really.
Imagine hanging out with your friends in such an authentic, creepy arcade. Pure fun.
OMG! I am originally from Hong Kong, and this is fascinating. I have never been to Kowloon Walled City myself, but I've seen other slums, and the designers really paid attention to detail. The signage, the decor are unmistakably from my city. I will go and take a look a this next time I visit Tokyo!!

Sorry, but it closed down last November. It is now lost to time.
If they didn't demolish it in Hong Kong, they could have done a couple science fiction/cyberpunk movies in there

I will never understand why people would downvote a video like this. It just shows an interesting location, no political opinion or whatever. So why would someone say "Naah thats bad I'm gonna downvote this"?

So glad I got to see this before it closed down. It was a real hidden gem and absolutely incredible design! I hope they reconcile the issues and bring it back in full swing.
I planned a trip to the mysterious walled city when I was a teen but was too frightened and only got as far as the last train station near it. One of my many regrets in life not visiting it when it was still there. In the middle was a Christian missionary who used really graphic imagery to scare people off drugs and she would visit the local schools and put the literal fear of God into people. This arcade looks amazing but sadly like sop many amazing places in Japan, has since closed sadly.
This is giving me some "Let It Die" vibes! It looks like something that Grasshopper Manufactures would make.

JoJonoMuskets I think it's cool that it's called the "Kawasaki Warehouse" and the owner of the wandering shop in Let It Die is named Kommando Kawasaki. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a little inspiration from this place and the Walled City!
I'm japanese but i didnt know such arcade!! cool

I find this place really beautiful for some reason
The way u filmed it at the beginning makes it seem like a House Of The Dead Level.
GREAT seeing you at the Atlanta Renaissance fair my man! Jason aka (Ironman from your 2014 DragonCon video)
awesome! love the table top games
Awesome! Wish I could have been there for this bit. That looks SO cool.
Fffffffffffffuuuuark that is seriously the coolest thing I have ever seen!! It reminds me of the Foot clan hideout in the first TMNT movie... but also kind of like the Turtles lair.
loving your videos
Some nice retro stuff there, amazing decor too.

that's awesome I always wanted to see the walled city and walk around it.
Amazing quality and camerawork. First time to watch this video in 2020 and some of the shots could’ve had me fooled if you told me it was from a PS5 game.
This would be an amazing laser tag/airsoft/paintball course. Like recreate this entire building and use it as an entire course. That would be the coolest thing in the world.
It amazes me how Japan is full of crazy places like this with people willing to pay for and create these crazy and creative places. This kind of spectacle just doesn't exist where I'm from.
This place is basically the real life version of the Foot-clan Arcade Hideout from the 1990 TMNT movie.. and I am here for it.
That would be a great place for like some Ghost in the shell cosplay photos or even video.
You guys are so lucky, I totally want to live like you.
it's actually pretty creepy :D
Ah! This is the perfect place for me to film an epic fight scene!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG amazing, I wish they would re open this. Hopefully they can recreate this in NYC or LA, would love to go to that. If it was still open I would book a flight asap.
OMG i gotta check this place out someday!!!!
That is so cool! :V I could spend my time there like everyday.

Japan seems to be fascinated by Kowloon. For example, Shenmue II featured Kowloon. One of the most important cult games in Japan is Kowloon's Gate... Not sure about anime, but in videogames Kowloon has been the blank of cyberpunk games and things similar to that.
Beautiful😍😍
Man that looked crazy
I grew up in Kowloon albeit not in the Walled City. I can say the "dirty toilet' is accurate to the T!!!!
I highly respect the person who made this. This art is better than the Mona Lisa painting.

What a cool place! :D
I think I'm going to do some 3d modeling for a city inspired by kowloon walled city. So much detail in each corridor. Compact, each door could tell a story.
This is pretty impressive.

That place sounds like the 4th level of hell.

It looks really cool and I would love to go but unfortunately it closed before I got the chance to visit there
So... Hong Kong style street in Japan. Totally legit. Also, those spam ads on the wall. XD
I wanna live next to this arcade! And also crapping on expedia when you have 847k subscribers lmao
Awesome, just need more crowd
Thanks for the travel tips and video. Can unfortunately confirm priceline is shit also. I booked a hotel only to find out it was a shoddy illegal rooming house. They would not return my phone calls and wouldn't refund my money
Cyberpunk Atmosphere
That was AWESOME! but... why were there only like 5 people in there?
Why such a dystopian looking place that would be terrible to live in is so fascinating at the same time? The human mind is so weird.
Oh no it's closing :(
That is fucking amazing detail!
sadly this place is closing down soon!

Wall Market vibes from Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
