At first I was wondering why the Sailor Mars cosplay at 2:51 had so few clothes. Then I realized she was doing her transformation sequence.

I was there and there were tons of amazing cosplays. The Peach and Daisy, as well as the DJ Sona were some of my favorites.

It's more then just the camera and a lens, it's understanding composition. It's understanding lighting. It's understanding, how to use the tools at your disposal to create the artwork. You can make almost anything look good, if you understand the principles behind why it looks good.

Hey Beatdown, love your work, absolutely fantastic been watching all your stuff lately... I have a Nikon D610 which I've been using primary for photography. However I've been messing with the video functions at some of the comics cons recently and I'm not crazy with my results. I find my camera has difficulty handling movement, anytime I move the camera, or my subject moves to quickly, the image blurs momentarily and it looks very unprofessional...any suggestions ?

Could be the shutter speed is too low (I try to keep mine 1/125 and up when there's significant movement). If you want no blur at all, you can set the shutter even higher (like 1/500 and up) - in lower light situation you might have to compensate for that by raising the ISO or using low fstop lenses. I don't have experience with that camera model, so I don't know if it involves the sensor or manual settings, etc.

I used a tripod for this, as my lens (canon 135mm) was a bit long and beefy for my small lightweight stabilizer

BTW, I was there. you may not have noticed , but that's ok. the next con for me will be dragoncon.

Was 1:42 a Homestuck character? They vaguely look like one of the Midnight Crew, or at least someone from a MSPA comic.

Did the camera work seem off to anyone? Normally it has some motion or movement to it. This all seemed pretty set it was like the camera was just set somewhere? I appreciate the video though. Really had a great time at Momocon myself and it was nice to see some of those costumes again.

but where is the other side of beatdownboogie? its been ages since the last series or whatnot. I appreciate all that cosplaying, I really do, but we need to see more action. You feel me bro?

I like Mettaton, Ivy, the Eevee cosplayers and the Pokemon trainer, and I find it funny that Black Canary tried to kiss Supergirl a and that Nepeta was dancing with a cosplayer of a a character I don't know.
