Crane Carrier Integrated Rear Loader (IRL) Garbage Truck: White's Sanitation

White’s Sanitation runs some of the last operational Crane Carrier Integrated Rear Loaders out in the middle of central Utah. These trucks are extremely uncommon nowadays so it was certainly a treat being able to see one of these in person before its too late!
Back in the 1990s Crane Carrier pioneered a new line of refuse trucks in which both the chassis and compacting body were one complete unit. Most refuse trucks before and since then have been chassis made by one company and the body made by another. By engineering this technology, CCC was able to sell these trucks to buyers looking to pay less in repairs and maintenance. CCC made Integrated Front loaders, rear loaders, and side loaders, however only a few IRLs are known to still be in operation.
White’s Sanitation owns 3 of these trucks, all of which apparently were out on route the day we filmed this one. 2 of them are tri axles and one is a dual.
Huge thanks to the friendly crew for letting us follow along and film!

The scenery looks amazing. I'm surprised that they have trucks like this that still exist today.

Man sooo jealous dude! I forgot how awesome the growl of these things are! Reason behind the jealousy is I asked this same crew a while ago and they said no 😂. Guess I just wasn’t lucky. But I’m glad these were documented again. Great catch as always

Awesome video! Glad you guys made it out there to find these trucks. Really like the way these were spec'd out with the pusher axle instead of dual. The crew sure moved at a good speed, kept things very entertaining. Haha that was some fast reversal at

Interesting story behind these trucks! I never realized before that these were one unit. I wonder why they stopped making them, as it seemed like a brilliant idea to cut down on costs and parts.

I love CCC! Great video btw! I remember my City's Sanitation department (Savannah, GA) had a fleet of these, Leaches, and New Way King Cobras with a few Heils all powered by CATs (3116s most likely with the exception of the Leaches and New Ways which had the C10). How long did they have these IRLs? This just brought back soo many memories 😎

Great post! Such an oddball truck! I love how fast this unit is when it reverses. Those takeoffs were awesome too, I gotta say I’m really jealous that other states have no regulations on diesel trucks. Love the cart variety as well in this area, i’m surprised you didn’t grab an otto, like you did with the cascade ;) Great post bro!

Talk about a great way to start my morning! When I saw the email notification with this truck in the title I was like "Holy crap! You got to be kidding me!" And this video didn't disappoint one bit! Love the approach at
