Lyrics:
He was standing in the rubble of an old farmhouse outside Birmingham
When some on thescene reporter stuck a camera in the face of that old man
He said "tell the folks please mister, what are you gonna do
Now that this twister has taken all that's dear to you"
The old man just smiled and said "boy let me tell you something, this ain't nothing"
He said I lost my daddy, when I was eight years old,
That cave-in at the Kincaid mine left a big old hole,
And I lost my baby brother, my best friend and my left hand
In a no win situation in a place called Vietnam
And last year I watched my loving wife, of fifty years waste away and die
And I held her hand til her heart of gold stopped pumping,
So this ain't nothin'

I lost my dad to cancer he was 48 my hero. Thought he was inveceable then watch him struggle for his last breath. Then a 1 year and seven months later my little brother died in a car wreck he was only 20. My poor momma she just was never the same. She died in her sleep at 54 I am pretty sure of a broken heart. I have always hid my pain and tried to teach others that there are more important things then money and material things. I met my husband and was able to have him learn from my heartache about what was important. His dad passed away only 2 months after my Mom we watched him struggle from his last breath. Then in November 2019 I took his mom for a colonastopy appointment and she never awoke from the procedure and died. I have watched so many people I have loved pass away. I truly know what matters and what don't. I wish others would have that perceptive. I have 3 kids a daughter and twin boys. My daughter hot pregnant and lost her first baby. She keep trying And now I have beautiful grandson that is named after my little brother Tyson. He has red hair and blue eyes and he is perfect. Now that is something.

@@craigmorganofficial9894 Mr. Greer, I gave my heart and soul back to the Lord just three weeks ago.. i was in the wilderness for over 20 years! My mother in law was supposed to pick us up at the Savanna Airport 3 weeks ago. We called several times and no answer a neighbor went to check on her and found her unresponsive. We were they ro take her back to Northern Indiana with us. While she laid in the hospital while i packed her things, well me and an 85 year man, who ministered to me for 3 days and i am glad he did. I felt alone, sad, depressed, anxious, and I started talking to God, then i prayed for his forgiveness and he did give it to me very quickly. I was high on Jesus the rest of that stay and the 16 hour drive back home. Until i was on I 65, few miles from West Lafayette, purdue country, when a big rig decided to pass me in a narrow road construction area. I thought i was gonna die, nearly pushed me into a barrier, i was in a 20 ft uhaul, with all my mother in laws possesions. I pulled into a rest stop a mile down the road. I cried, thanked God for steering the wheel for me. I got out of the truck hit the ground and thought i was having a heart attack. My blood pressure was 205/120, yeah near stroke level. I was calling out for help, no one would come to me lating on the ground calling out to Jesus, thanking him for saving my soul, and preparing me for what i thought was my last day on earth. A man came to me, an Angel, he prayed with me, he laid hands on me, we spoke in tongues, and i felt sweet release. I thought i had died on gone to heaven. The police, emt's and other first responders showed up. I asked the officer to get the name of the man who helped me, prayed with me, kept me more calm, gave me sips of water, the officer said he must have left cuz my description didnt match anyone on the scene. A pure angel, i believe with all my heart. The officer said the teuck deiver who thought he clipped me stopped down the road. Shaken up and distraught he called 911 also, was worried about me. So i know when people are in the greatest need, or may be in peril, God sends an angel so we are not alone, to either say goodbye to this old world or calm us when he knows he isn't taking us home, so we are not alone, when it's our time to go. So your son was with and is still with the angels on that tragic day. You're songs Almost Home and The Father,My Son and the Holy Ghost, came to my mind shortly after I was in the ambulance. For that day, i had all of them with me, over that span of 3 days he was with me and still is with me forever and ever. Though i never knew your son, but i thought of him as well, and you too, for the songs you write and sing so courageously. Thank you for your service, the military and the service you provide with tour loving music, it helps me each day. I hope you and your family are doing better and better. You will heal once you go home to be with your boy. I hope to see you on your tour again soon. I just want to hug you in a caring, Godly way to say thank you. Good night sir

I lost my grandfather on 11/09/2015 this song was him, He served our country in Vietnam, He worked his entire life since a kid, he was a kid of 12 brothers and sisters, his mother and father were rebels you could say, My grandpa married the love of his life about 49 years ago, He's loved her longer and in may of this year, He lost his wife.. After that he found out he had cancer, He went from working every day doing flooring being 68 years old to not being able to lift his head.. his heart just peacefully went slow, He went painless.. Rest in peace Grandpa, You will be missed.

+Rosslyn Jones I'm sorry for your loss, Coal Miner's Daughter was a great movie, Your father sounds like a great guy and he obviously raised a great child, whom he felt will go far in life, He went to his next life because he wanted to watch over you as you succeed in everything you've wanted to do, he might be gone in person but remember, he's here just as much as anyone else is, Actually he's stronger & happier. Keep your chin up, I'm not gonna say it gets easier cause it won't but just remember he wouldn't want you upset over it, He's happy so why not be happy for him here? :) Have a great night and happy New Years and merry late Christmas!

Death is a tough thing to watch but I know he'll be at those pearly gates waiting for his kids and grandkids and even great grandkids. He'll run to us and hug us hard, it'll be a joyful day, he'll get to see my son again and run with him, we'll get to go hunting and fishing again. That was 4 years ago and everyday of my life i think about him. I even go back to my old middle school sometimes and look at his locker, the desk he sat in, and at nights if i ever wake up for what ever reason, i go into the guest room and sleep in his bed, the sheets have never been changed since he passed. Name's Timothy, I'm logged in under my fiancè's name. I'm only 30 this year, but I've experience similar emotions in which Mr. Morgan sings about in this very touching and moving song. An the perseverance of one man taking all that life throws at him. I come from the coal regions of WV.

I am 42 now. This song 15 years ago would have just been another good Country song. Now it means 1000000 times more. I have lost so much recently and a storm could only do so much. Material items can be replaced but lives and what you do in that time cannot.

My buddy in the U.S. Marshalls gave me this token of wisdom when I went to him about my issues: Life is like a shit sandwhich, and every day's another bite. Still not sure how the fuck that's supposed to help, but he's the one with the fancy degree in psychology.

This is Craig's most powerful song, and ranks near the top for Country songs relating truth. People are the most important assets in life, as they enrich us in matters money and possessions never can! For example, if I lost my Dad at age 8, I shudder to imagine what type of man I would have became without his guidance and influence.

❤ Here after Louisiana Woman, Birmingham, Almost Home, Father, My Son !! Husband and I are very dofferent. This is my attitude for life (before and ) after losing out son 27 week gestation / diabetes- This always hits home and really is so empowering too. The reality is NONE of this is anything. Material. Make life. Buy dirt 😂 love live live read read read! Compassion. #LoveAlways #LoveFirst I fail. I rise.

I'm in a fight of my life. To fight for something i truly believe in. I have people tell me to give up. My Dad died fighting for what is right. I will never quit or NEVER give up. He has mentioned that this ain't nothing. Tall Iowa Country Boy from Madison County. I will NOT Fail. This ain't nothing. God has my back. My Guardian Angels above has my back.
