There was also absolutely nothing racist about this portrayal of Craig David. It was a surreal parody of celebrity culture. Craig David is definitely not from the north of England and doesn't have a kestrel. However, I would say the parody of Trisha crossed the line. Anyway, he was picked on by Leigh Francis because he was a successful celebrity, like all the other celebrities mocked by shows like Dead Ringers, Star Stories, Alistair McGowan, 2DTV etc etc. He should really take it as more of a compliment. As for being bullied. This is not bullying at all. I assume if CD is so fixated on this, he hasn't really experienced real bullying.

Thing is he took it way way too seriously. No one was realistically a huge fan of Leigh Francis and a load of other celebrities also got ridiculed on the series too and didn't perceive its impact in the same way . When the show ran it's course and got decommissioned, no one really cared after it went away as viewing numbers had dropped and it had run its course and people moved on from it. He was overly concerned about it when in reality I don't actually think it had any effect on his record sales or music career because people still liked his music. What had happened is he had just made some poor choices in terms of the songs and albums he was making, and the producers he worked with and had not had the same success as he earlier music which meant he had become less popular musically, and he was wrongly attributing it in some way to bo selecta.

Well because humour like that on a widespread scale is likely the reason alot of celebrities have mental health problems that got demonised until they were honest and open about it 10-20yrs down the line.

If bo selecta didn't have him in the show he would not be sitting talking about this. He would have been bigger than Michael Jackson. His talent was amazing and that show deffo pulled him down. He then had to rip off a U2 song called one to get back into the limelight. Anyways I'm off to hospital appointment for my delusional issues I'm having. 😅

So to recap, multimillionaire artist who lives in luxury in Miami, was very mediocre at best, had a couple of middling hits, wanted desperately to be famous and be an 'entertainer' in the public eye is thin-skinned, defensive, takes himself too seriously, and now whines like a baby about satire, and essentially blames it for tanking his career. Got it.

What ? You mean the man's music didn't make it big at all during the early 2000s? For him to even be made fun of to begin with by a comedy show? Idk If you remember why he was actually big back then. Like many young "smooth" attractive fellas who sing. He was one of them abd it likely made him big initially. Just like justice timberlake, Justin beiber, usher etc etc.

bo selecta was funny as fuck. this guy takes himself too seriously. mel b is still mates with him and found it funny. yes people took the piss out of each other 20 years ago lad, get over it. 'disempowering' - nah. its called taking the piss. this is the problem with people that go into music industry fulltime at a mentally young age, they don't realise there's a real world out there where people go to work all day and want to have a laugh about stupid stuff. all the best to this guy either way

The ridiculous way he referred to himself in the third person back then was almost as bad as the incorrect and bizzare way he says "satire" now. In a way, he already was a figure of fun before Francis came along. I mean, Im sure he's a nice bloke, but really he should have nipped it in the bud at the time and had a word with Francis, instead of appearing in the show with him...

If you are in the public eye, you will be made fun of. It comes woth the territory unfortunatley. The craig david character became a thing of its own, it evolved past craig david the singer and person very quickly, same with mel b and MJ. I kept the 2 seperate in my head like a lit of people and fans did.
