Craig, you have done a phenomenal job with these players. Bailey and Richards are still young and have a bright future. It’s so unfortunate that we don’t develop our players more , because we have so much talent and promising players, who could be playing anywhere in the world. Nobody knows everything, but all minds and hearts should be together, to advance Jamaicans football. One of the problem, is JFF don’t have the proper funding like other Federation, but have to start thinking outside the box. Example, There’s a huge reggae boys fan base around the world. Why is it we don’t have a television deal for premier league and all national team games. A lot of us wouldn’t mind paying a fee to watch the games, in order to contribute to Jamaican football. JFF have to start think of other ways to raise funds. This is bigger than them and us. Growing up, I played street ball, then to a ball field, under 13, colts under 14, manning cup. Our nation eat and breathe football. More need to be done.

Craig Butler is a Jamaican football Phoenix, he will take Jamaican football out of the dark ages and into the light of modern football. Not sure why the powers to be in JFF cannot take his system and make it a national priority to take Jamaican football to the world summit. He is correct, if we combine our world class expertise in athletic training coupled with the best of football technology we can easily bring home global trophies with regularity, we just have to believe and take action.

This man Craig butler deserves every blessing he gets for himself and the players he’s developing. He’s an example of what you put in, you get out. This man carry his players all over Europe and god knows where else to get trials. He goes against the grain and I love that; people that go against the grain always get a fight. All the greats have gotten a fight for this mentality. But in order to be great you need to be arrogant in a way and stand for what you believe. Lots of people in the JFF is working off of likes and favouritism n a fight the youths them. We need a mental shift for the better

Good interview. You don't have to like Butler, but it's hard to argue with the points he raised here. At best, football in Jamaica remains at a crossroads. I remember as a young journalist, I would have MULTIPLE youth competitions covering on any given weekend. Now, you can hardly find any consistent youth competitions in the island.

Originally I wasn't really a fan of Craig because I think he was too pushy but he has good vision and good intentions and his objectives is to get the so called politics of selecting players out of the JFF. I remember back in the days rural area players didn't have a chance unless super talented. I now see where he's not really that controversial , the facts are there. The JFF still has this herd mentality, it needs to be revamped.

Boss man, Bailey is an out and out flank player. It wouldnt serve the team to play him in midfield. He has no work rate. Big difference to run up and down the flank as opposed to working in the midfiled. Its way more demanding defensively, a trait that Bailey doesnt possess. Also Bailey is a role player not a playmaker. Mid- fielders dictate the pace of the game both attacking and defending. Bailey cant manage that. Nothing against Bailey, he is a decent flank player who executes his position well.

If Jamaica loses, it would be a major embarrassment. It's crazy but this USA GC 2023 team on paper actually looks better than the one that won it last year but with high level talent laden attacking crew Jamaica is bringing in, Jamaica midfield and defense have to play badly to lose. It's going to be interesting to watch. The USA's best chance to win is to control the midfield.
