Craftsman LT1000 42" Mower - Replacing A Deck Spindle
Ғылым және технология
In this video i go over the proper way on how to replace a spindle (3-Leg Version) on a Craftsman (Husqvarna/Electrolux/AYP) 42" Riding Mower. In this video i remove the deck and replace one spindle and show all the steps and tools needed.

Great video with detailed instruction! Thank you.
Just so happens I was just changing out a spindle when I caught this video. Helped to remind me where the spacer washer went when putting the pulley back on. Also I strongly suggest to use the pre-tapped spindles, as you did. A whole lot less problems and a lot faster changes. Peace-out and God bless. 😎✌🤘🖖
Thanks for the video. You gave me a few tips that helped me. The video was noisy but I could make out what you were saying.
Good stuff, Thank you. I thought I'd be able to get that sucker off w/ socket wrench, had to buy impact wrench! Will re-assemble deck to mower in the morning. Great instructions
Great video.... my parts that held the springs "flew off".....what a problem.....thanks
i'd be interested in your rationale for 1: re-using the original smaller outside diameter top-end washer instead of the newly supplied larger one and 2: how do you decide between replacing the entire three-legged mandrel assembly vs just dropping the spindle shaft assembly out and replacing just that? i've been unable to remove the lower bearing off the shaft so i've had to replace the entire spindle when i only had the the bearings starting to go - everything else was still in working order. any thoughts much appreciated. i like to know why we do things in mechanical repairs not just how we do them. probably a placebo effect - but i think my repairs are better that way.
Background noise not good
I have been known to drill out the threads in the mounting holes and drop a nut in the hex hole and thread the bolt into it. Then, fill the hex hole with RTV whether you use a nut or the original threads. Keeps moisture out of the threads and makes it easy to remove the mounting bolts when necessary.
How do you replace the little brake pads on the spindle brake for the mower deck do you have to replace the whole arm or can you buy the little brake pad and what would you glue it on with super glue?
The back ground noise, sucked probably way no one has watched this
