Also, I took a photography class many years ago and she held the class in her home. She said something that always stuck with me. She said her decorating style was “things I like.” She said you create your own style because it is a blend of all the things that reflect what you find beautiful.

I love that! My room is very eclectic and yet, I love how all of the elements come together to represent who I am and what I love. Each person has a unique style that reflects who they are. Styles can be similar when people share common interests and are inspired by similar things, but each will vary in their own way. 🩷

Morgan do not say your style is not “trendy” because I absolutely adore it! It is timeless, cozy , and beautiful. Not only that but it pays respect to staying environmentally friendly and anti-consumerist. An inspiration to us all, especially in my own creation of my unique, cozy little home!

I'm catching up on your channel a few weeks late, but this is such a lovely video! I LOVE that you're talking about finances in a realistic way that resonates with most of us, aren't dropping tons of $$$ on new spring clothes and decor, and have a house that looks cozy and like real, delightful people happily live there (not like it was immaculately curated by/for an algorith). All of those things make me feel less insecure about my own non-curated life and home, and I so appreciate it.

I love your decor and honestly like it better because it isn’t trendy! Trends make everything look largely the same, but your home is a reflection of your unique and whimsical personality, so it’s perfect!🥰

You set the same amount that I did. I try to spend less so it will carry over. I used to carry debt and I hated it. I worked hard to pay off everything but my house and car. I now don’t just swipe a credit card. I pull cash out of the ATM every week and this way I see exactly what I have left in my wallet and what day of the week it is. It makes me think do I really need this or do I need so many of them. It’s been wonderful and freeing not to worry about credit card payments. And also my house feels better because I have less clutter.

Most wonderful and comfortable homes are collected with love not designed.

Here's a tip for buttercream or any frosting : add a very small amount of table salt. It actually rounds out the flavor and helps make very sweet frosting taste not so sweet. Another tip: never use salted butter for anything. Usually salted butter is old butter and they add salt so they can mask any flavor of it not being as fresh.

I typically like spooky things and have a lot of spooky things in my home, but I have so many interests so I've incorporated those too. It's pretty eclectic lol. I've recently been trying a few new things like decorating with more candles and books and flowers and part of me felt guilty for not "sticking" to my spooky aesthetic, but then I thought, who is judging me for this? Morgan, I adore your style so much and we have much the same style and taste. I was never allowed to be authentic to myself growing up in my childhood home and it has become a struggle to love the things I love because of my childhood. It's something I'm trying so desperately to embrace because I am a mother for 4 children and the youngest of them is my daughter. I want her and my sons to learn to love who they authentically are and feel free to be themselves regardless of what anyone should think. ❤ I just wanted to add: I lived in Oregon for a short time. Beaverton, specifically. I absolutely loved living there but due to circumstances out of my hands, I had to move back to my home state. Every time I watch one of your videos, I always feel like I'm visiting. And today, I actually cried at the end because I left Oregon around this time of year and it just reminded me of flying back home and hating so much that I had to leave. 😣 I don't know how far it would be for you and Landon but when you can take a visit to Tualatin Hills Nature Park. It was my favorite place to go in the short four months I lived there.

Good job on taking control of your finances that is so important in your late 20s early 30s because if you invest in a retirement plan you will really have the years it takes to let it compound and grow for you. I’ve been watching a lot of KZread money people and read a few books from the library and now I feel a lot more confident. I recommend Vivian Tu’s book Rich AF it had a lot of easy to digest information written for millennials. Spring is right around the corner and it’s the perfect time for a fresh start all around!

@@jgator6694 he was my brothers dog first for the first 9 years of his life. My brother passed away and wanted me to keep his best friend, Teddy. Teddy then took my heart to. We had him for 5 years. He had a lump on the side of his throat that if removed he may have died so wasn’t an option. It grew fast the last couple weeks and he was struggling to breathe. It’s so wonderful to have these companions but so hard when they leave. Thank you

Another wondrous video, really enjoyed watching it. I've found giving my savings a purpose having specific savings goals stops me dipping into those (electronic) pots. Long-term ones are hidden away. No reason why saving can't be fun and give us something to look forward to. My birthday is in March so it's my favourite, although this Autumn girl is looking forward to the freshness of Spring and the warmth of summer. Time to emerge from hibernation and the blankets. 💕

The problems with trends is that they promote what is deemed as “in.” It is never rooted in authenticity to that person. Only what is considered cool at the moment. I really love that you openly talk about finances Mo! I’ve read quite a few money books in the past year to try and learn more about saving and investing. I budget using the Budgetmom tips & tricks and found that really works for me 😊 her finance audit videos are really good (not as relative for me as I’m from the U.K. but the principles still work!) Weekly meal planning saves us SO much money!

Hi Morgan, Spring is definitely springing! We are about a month ahead, which scares me a little.. But lest enjoy the sun while she's out! I agree with you, there needs to be more talk about money. I am so happy for you that you are now in a financially stable place where you can pay yout bills, eat, save and have $100 a week of fun-money left! That sounds amazing! Good for you! I am in a different financial situation. I am disabled so I am on a fixed income, which is below the poverty line. I still manage to make end meet and I don't accumulate any debt and I am actually pretty proud of myself of how I (mostly) manage with the small amount of money I do have. However there are two things that do always bother me, first: because my income is so low I can't safe. So I have no buffer. And when I do manage to safe a little, there is always a washing machine that needs fixing, or a medical bill to pay. That insecurity can get very stressful at times. But the second thing I truly dislike about my financial situation is that it makes other people, friends, family, very uncomfortable. I don't ever have the funds to go out to dinner, or go to the movies, or go out for "just a drink". I can't afford to go on holiday, or get big expensive presents for birthdays. When my friends and I were young and we were all poor, it didn't matter, but my financial situation has only gotten worse, but my friends now make a lot more money and they want to go out for spontaneous dinners and drinks. They don't want to stay in and have a cup of tea, or share homemade dinners. And it's not as if I don't want join them, but I just simpy can't afford it.. And after a while, people just stop asking tou to join.. So it gets loney sometimes..

I love how you have "Garden Spells". Sarah Addison Allen is one of my favorite authors.

Cosy and homely will never go out of fashion, for me and for many others, I'm sure! :)

Target is the best. I used to go there a lot years ago on Saturdays just to smell the candles and unwind. When I caught covid for the 1st time over 3 years ago, I lost my sense of smell and it never returned. I really don't visit target much anymore. I still like all the pretty things in the store though. I really enjoy your vlogs!

I heard a song that I know in the store you went to, it felt nice, like our worlds collided:D I feel sorry for the dried flowers (don't worry, it's just me) but I love the decorations and also love that you listen to a playlist while cleaning, I do that too. What a ray of sunshine you are Morgan friend. It was such a fun video to watch and those candles look wonderful. I am a candle person so I may just have to check them out plus the cookies looked amazing! Oh yum. Thanks for sharing the link to the cookie recipe and how you made them vegan and taste so good. It is always a great feeling to do spring cleaning and watching you talk about finances makes me more motivated in that area too. I am budgeting as well due to financial bills that have come up. I find getting by with what I have is not so hard to do. It's a definite mindset and it is important to save money for emergencies.
