I don’t know what the heck Purdy still needs to “prove” in order for Nick to give Purdy his props. I don’t get some of Nick’s “takes” sometimes. I think he is a good prognosticator of football outcomes, in general. He was one of only a few pundits who predicted Russ was going to be a disaster from the get-go. And he always held firm that his Chiefs would win last season’s Super Bowl, in spite of having a mediocre offense for most of the regular season. But then Nick continues to find excuses as to why Purdy is not a franchise QB, while he continues to argue that Trevor Lawrence is about to have a “breakout, star-studded season”, when Trevor has shown he is nothing more than a slightly above average QB since his rookie season in 2021.

I’ve said this about many teams: the “prevent defense” at the end of games only prevents winning. It is a terrible strategy at any point in any game unless you are up by a massive amount. The Bills have lost many games this way this year. I see Dallas is no wider and their “prevent” was even more backed up off the line of scrimmage than Buffalo.

Tua wasn't under the pressure Dak was? The Dallas rush was winning constantly and quickly. But...Tua made extremely quick decisions and used his fast release to just defeat the pressure. Teams (including the Jets last week) are *destroying* the Miami pass protection with only 4 rushers and dropping the rest into coverage, but Mike's gameplan and Tua's positive qualities are allowing them to at least get by. Now, missing 4 of 5 starters on the line, is Miami going to light it up like the first quarter of the season? Unfortunately, no. But they've at least found a strategy (by not even attempting to require plays to develop unless they go max protect) to still have a decent offense. As a Fins fanatic, it is hard to look at a team like the Bills (who have started the same O line every game this season) and wonder what the ceiling might've been this year with a little more injury luck.

  • @spartangreg1

No, Tua wasn't under pressure, he got rushed/blitz 10% by the Cowboys which is nothing compared to what they normally do. Whereas the Dak was running for his life every other play, the o-line completely failed him and bad play calling made it worse

So when the FB fumbles early on in the game that cost them the game but when Dak misses wide open receivers early in the game like he missed Cooks against Buffalo that would have been an easy TD that does not cost them the game? When there is no pressure on Dak and he lights up a bad team he gets all the credit and should win MVP but when he gets sacked 4 times and fails to make adjustments and get the ball out quickly enough he doesn't get any blame?

They're the best team in the league rn, and playing at home. But they are also on a shortened week returning from the west coast. So who knows. I'd say Baltimore likely takes it, though.

This might be a very hot take considering what happened on Monday Night, but I think Cowboys vs Dolphins will impact the final stretch of the season a lot more than Ravens vs 49ers, and I think Dolphins have a shot against Ravens for contending for that 1 Seed, so I'm predicting them to win out in 2 super close games with that Miami defense coming in clutch when it matters most. This Dolphins Ravens match could also be who wins MVP, Tyreek or Lamar. If Dolphins beat Ravens, they most certainly can beat Buffalo at Hard Rock.
