JRBL1A1 Simply put my in my top 20 best albums of all time..I believe Jimmy was at his best since 1975....and THE BEST David Coverdale ever sounded to me... I loved his first 2 albums after leaving D.P MK 3 ...I'm a diehard Zeppelin fan but This in my opinion surpassed anything Page & Plant did in the 90's... and it was a wake up call for Plant to get back to being who he truly is... I didn't perceive this as White Zeppelin or Led Snake at all... it was a new RAW sound from the leaders or those two bands...Page's work on this is what he talked about with Zeppelin 3 Light & Shade... The acoustic guitars were amazingly thick and brite! whilst Coverdale was RAW, BLUESY and Rough

Agree. A few MTV videos in the 80's and now everyone's an expert on DC; he copied this, under rated that; idiocy. Coverdale is one of the best to front a band. Only some idiot boomer or zoomer is arrogant enough to dismiss a singer this good. Not to mention over 40 years of sustained success in one of the most cut-throat competitive industries in the free market. Sorry, some of the other comments got me a little hot under the collar. I am sorry that Page didn’t seek out Coverdale again after the O2 concert when it became clear that Robert would NEVER tour again as Zeppelin without his mate Bonzo. I understand his emotions and respect them, but I think millions of fans did deserve the chance to hear those classic songs performed live again…..and Page and JPJ were SO frustrated with Robert…and Jason was sure up for it. Wasn’t about the gobs of money………they just wanted to play that wonderful music!

But, it is not Zeppelin without Bonham. Plant always said he didn't want to be in a Zeppelin revival band. Even still, he has incorporated Zep music into many of his tours and with the Plant and Page tours as well. I seriously doubt Page wanted to be in a Zeppelin cover band with Coverdale and other musicians. I had tickets to see a concert when this tour was announced but the show was cancelled due to low ticket sales. i think the tour was as well.

I think right right TK. To my ears there are no nothings other than (borrow from sal) "fierce, powerful and immediate". Me - kinda pissed at FM for not airing the last true years of some of the best rock music ever recorded I jumped on to the new sound that was not getting any TM play either. Vitalogy and Superunknown showed up and then closed the door and will say for me- Vitalogy carried me through alot of shit as Coverdale & Page.

I built up my anticipation for Coverdale & Page album prior to it's release back in 1993 by reading a huge pile of articles to educate myself on the various intriguing phenomena surrounding the legendary Coverdale/Page collaboration. I'd also give a spin for the old Whitesnake albums regularly and get a hold of (then) recently released Led Zeppelin remasters. An older brother of one of my classmates even had the Led Zeppelin backcatalog on original vinyl, and I got a chance to listen to those too, and that got a proper vintage vibe going. The warmth of analog LP-record sound coupled with organic hiss of needle scratching the vinyl adds a lot of nostalgia to whatever it is that you're listening to. I think Coverdale & Page has stood the test of time real well, one could even argue that it has aged like fine wine. "Whisper a prayer for the dying" is a great closing track.

For me this LP released in 1993 was epic in my life and the archives of music. Possibly the most underrated recordings ever by a couple of legendary artist' from an era that may never be repeated in modern music. My divorce began in 1990 and this recording of 'Coverdale & Page' helped me tremendously with the option to merge in my highway back onto the correct path. I may say that this material might have been painful for them to write but a possible cleansing or 'reconciliation' of Jimmy Page and David Coverdale's prior memoirs. Yes, this effort is brilliant...
