The Daddy of Dynamics is back! Beyer released a remake (original style-ish) M88 in early 2023. Here it is in action.
"It Happened in Monterey" or "It Happened in Monterrey" is a 1930 song composed by Mabel Wayne, with lyrics by Billy Rose and performed by Paul Whiteman and his orchestra. It was written for the 1930 musical film King of Jazz, and was subsequently covered several times in short succession including by the Regent Club Orchestra, George Olsen and Ruth Etting.[1] It fell out of popularity until Frank Sinatra re-recorded it for both his 1956 Capitol release Songs for Swingin' Lovers! and his 1957 live album Sinatra '57 in Concert... source Wikipedia.

I just wonder why the mic is so pricey, here in Norway it goes for about 500$

Great performance. How does the 2023 M 88 compare to the previous TG black grill version?

Thanks. I have many M88s from 70's to current and I find the Black TG version to stand out as least desireable for me. It seems to have more pop/wind noise. Something about the tone I'm not keen on. The TG is well built but not as elegant as the old or this new version. The 23 model is very similar to the earlier models IMHO.

The execution is easy and pleasant. The sound of the microphone seems cloudy. But if the performer likes it, what else is needed?

Thanks, and yup, a condenser would/should strip away some cloud but this is a dynamic.
