I really admire Nick Broomfield for the truthful and honest documentaries he consistently makes. So few directors are willing to find the truth and put it out there, no matter what! This film is no different. Bravo!

I just finished that Nick Broomfield Kurt & Courtney documentary. Nick Broomfield is a savage filmmaker. Towards the end at some award show Courtney was I believe hosting, he called her out on stage for having threatened certain people of the media, and then was cut off, and rushed off stage.

In hindsight, the day Kurt died, you can see rock music lost all its breath and slowly suffocated for a decade before croaking, as well. I wonder if Courtney realizes that tremendous burden of consequences now...... literally killing music. Epic stuff on a historical scale.

I wouldn’t say Rock died because of Kurt’s death. Nirvanas popularity had dropped some from Nevermind to In Utero. Pearl Jam was the hottest act of 1994 in terms of popularity. I love Nirvana but I’m not going to deny the fact that he wouldn’t be looked at as the icon he is now if he had lived. Rock died out because people within the industry refused to let it grow and held it in the metal thing and fans got bored with that. Before that every 7-10 years rock evolved spawning new sub genres. Once that stopped rock went flat. Revisionist history is going to tell you Nirvana hit the scene and was the biggest thing since the Beatles but if you lived back then you’d know that’s not how it was. The concerts indicate that. They weren’t even capable of selling out stadiums on their own like GNR or Metallica. Still maybe Kurt would have reinvented his style in 2000 and sparked something fresh. We’ll never know

+Melissa Wright I think your question answers itself. Much like asking why doesn't she sue Tom Grant who has accused her of conspiring to kill her husband for the last 21 years in public. The reason being is that if she took a polygraph test or sued for defamation she would get exposed for what she really is. She knows this hence the reason she has done neither of these things and never will.

evacookie913 she wouldn't need to take a polygraph in order to sue for defamation. As a public figure who has been accused of being involved in her husbands death for over 22 years Courtney could have put this to bed a long time ago by taking the legal route. She certainly has the money to do so (Kurt's money). If she was innocent of being involved then her actions prior to, and subsequent to, Kurt's death contradict that notion. The evidence in the case supports homicide not suicide. Surely Courtney, if innocent, would want to know who could have been involved in his death and would again, take the legal route to determine this. This however, has not been the case. Quite the opposite in fact. Her actions support the behaviour of a guilty person and an independent death investigation should be carried out to determine what really happened. Unfortunately the case itself was ruled a suicide by the SPD within 2 hours of the body being found before they had conducted the autopsy and viewed the toxicology results (contrast that with the current investigation into Prince's death). A shocking example of a police investigation that no-one deserves regardless of who they are.

Gordon Bennett You don't know as much about it as you think. The SPD even had a handwriting expert examine the suicide note for at least 2 weeks. Is that what the cops do when they immediately assume someone killed themselves? Besides, there is not enough evidence to conclude that Courtney was behind Kurt's death. If there was, something would've been done already. That's probably why she hasn't tried to "put this to bed"...people are going to believe what they want at the end of the day. Tom Grant presents a lot of theories and data that point to Courtney and Cali being guilty, but if you go to soakedinbullshit's page on Twitter you'll see how flawed and hollow his murder conspiracy theory really is. Some of his sources aren't even his own; he feeds off news articles and, of course, his own conjectures.

Courtney is hardly "accepted in her community" and "just a soccer mom." Look at how things turned out with her own daughter - lost custody, didn't she? Who is the liar here? "Parent Teacher Night?" "Incredibly honest?" What a joke.

Depending on what he actually meant and different peoples equally valid interpretations of the meaning. He could be saying it should have been beautiful but just threw in negativity words, cancer, sick, black, coffin, to expain some kind of blind attraction to a death sucking entity. The priceless advice may have been that this was the worst thing he could willingly be doing to himself and ignored the advice with the risk of great debt. But like i said, many people can interperate things in many ways. I don't see how this could ever be mistaken for a happy in love couple related song whether its about her vag or not. She most certainly did not help in any way, its more likely that Holes album was in fact mostly written by Kurt although that is conjecture.

I used to think Courtney didn't play a part in Kurt's death but the more you dig the more dirt you find. I really think she is acting in the interviews she did after his death (Barbara Walters, MTV) too much weird shit so sad

It's really not hard to put together...Allen Wrench was later interviewed and said he may have incompacitated kurt by a choke hold(Allen Wrench is a Judo black belt master)and injected him with a lot of heroin(25 times the lethal dose) he said as long as he blew enough of the neck away you couldn't see the marks he left on the neck...

0.1 percent fail. (With respect) It should be changed from suicide to undetermined. At least. That and the door being lockable from the inside, not wedged shut, the stool was not required to keep people out. And the heroin 3 times lethal being intravenously shot (not taken aurally). And the suicide note doesn't mention death. Why end it with 'Kurt Cobain' if its addressed to his family? And why the change in writing style in the last four lines?

When asked what she thought to be Kurt's motive in committing suicide, Gordon replied: "I don't even know that he killed himself. Chris Nelvin His "suicide" note was already disproven by the world's leading handwriting analysts. Everything except the last 4 lines were Kurt's handwriting. He was planning on quitting the music industry..and the note was written to his childhood imaginary friend "Bada". The last lines were the only lines indicating suicide. Also there wasn't any investigation or forensic evidence taken. The Seattle Police ruled it a suicide immediately. El Duce died 7 days after dropping the name "Allen" in the BBC documentary "Kurt & Courtney" The last person to see him alive was his best friend and Judo master "Allen Wrench"...I have a link to the news article showing that...if you want it. It doesn't take an expert detective to see what happened here...I also recommend reading the book "Love And Death: The Murder Of Kurt Cobain" in which they interview Allen Wrench who was even driving the White Lexus that Courtney had bought Kurt...He admits it and brags that he will never be charged with Kurt's murder, or the murder of El Duce. In the book during the investigation that Tom Grant was doing on Courtney(she originally hired Grant to look for Kurt the few days he was missing, he then saw a lot of weird things so he then turned to investigating Courtney) they found a paper in Courtney's backpack of her practicing handwriting, of each letter, much like you would find in a child's backpack who was learning to write the alphabet. You just can't accept inconsistencies, and have already formed an opinion, which means your investigation skills would be worthless. Gelb is a leading polygrapher who tested El Duce, and it is untrue that all polygraphs aren't admissible in court, as Gelb worked on the OJ case.

I think Kristen knew something! Kurt told one of his friends that Kristen was not only beautiful, but had a beautiful soul and that Courtney would hit the roof if she could hear him. Courtney also accused Kristen of making eyes at Kurt during band practice. Kurt was planning on leaving town too and starting a new life. Maybe there was something starting to happen between the two of them and Kristen knew it wasn't suicide and maybe Courtney had something to do with it. Many times it takes meeting another woman to give a man the courage to finally walk away from a bad marriage or relationship. Kurt could have had any woman he wanted. He just didn't know it when he met Courtney. He only had one other girlfriend before her.

For any of you who don't believe that Kurt was murdered, look into the relationship between Kurt and Kristen Pfaff, Courtney's bassist whom she thought was having an affair with Kurt. about 2 months after Kurt's death she was found dead of an apparent heroin overdose but just like Kurt's death there are a lot of unanswered questions, there were also pages torn out/missing from her diary from the day Kurt went missing to the day he was found. Both her and Kurt had just completed Rehab voluntarily so I don't believe that either one was using. None of it makes any sense and so much was done unprofessionally or not at all.

10.) The Seattle medical examiner, Dr Nikola Hartshorne (Dr NH) is a friend of CL from before he was a doctor. He had promoted Courtney's first husband, James Moreland's, band in the '80's. So no surprise when he rules for CL's version of events, as a suicide. 11.) Dr NH is also the ME for the death of CL's bassist, Kristen Pfaff (KP) who was killed just weeks after the murder of KC, and after being given heroin by another Hole band member, Erick Erlandson (EE). CL was very jealous over KC and KP's new relationship. 12.) EE is at KC's house the day he died after CL asked him to go to the house to look for her husband. 13.) Three months after KC was murdered, and just weeks after KP was killed, Dr NH, who by all accounts was rising up the ladder at work, leaves to live in Florida. His Seattle coworkers are all surprised. 14.) Three months after KC was murdered, DT, of the SPD, is murdered by two guys who set him up to be killed by pretending to have a flat tire. 15.) Lead on the KC case, Detective Cameron (DC), and the boss of DT, is fired three years after the murder of KC for bribery and corruption. He had been with SPD for 39 years. 16.) No fingerprints on the shotgun or shells. So, I think CL had EE give KC a mickey in his root beer (the Valium found in KC's blood) and then have him give a massive dose of heroin when KC was already passed out. EE then leaves and Allen Wrench comes in alone, instructed by CL, to get the shotgun she knew KC had purchased with his buddy Dylan Carlson, and to use it on KC. Dylan admits he told CL about the shotgun prior. Then CL has EE give her rival, KP, an OD of heroin. EE is the only person to be seen entering her residence that night. He left 30 minutes later. So then CL hires some thugs to pretend a flat tire on the route of off duty DT and have him killed. Dead men tell no tales. In 2002 Dr NH dies. In 2022 CL settles out of court with her son in-law, Isaiah Silva, for his kidnapping and attempted murder.

why in this video of 1998 you put an image of her from 2005?

She deflects a lot of the time. I just don't get why she held a drug intervention and not mental health..and that she says it was her idea/others idea. She often will hide by bringing Frances into topic. Just simply talking/addressing very good questions about what was said by her and others at the time Kurt missing. Courtney is funny and smart I like Hole and her acting, but anyone is capable of murder, especially if they're desperate.

I am NO fan of CL. but I have watched ' K&C ', and there is NO hard evidence in that film that she was involved in Curt's death, and in all the years since, the Official Cause: Suicide, has NEVER been changed. Although it is worth noting that CL's current Net Worth is reported to be $150 Million, and a substantial portion of this is of course from Kurt's music.

So there’s no finger prints on the gun he killed himself with, not even his own, dr’s have stated that he shouldn’t have been able to function enough to have shot himself after the dose of heroin he took, the strange behavior of Courtney during and after, the fact that she and others admitted he wanted a divorce and several other facts isn’t enough to even investigate? I’m a true crime fan and people have been investigated for far less unanswered questions. That’s strange in my book

Granted there appears to be a mountain of it but none of that would really stand up in court I dont think. She would just hire the best lawyers money could buy and get off without breaking sweat. +peepingtom20101 bear in mind that most criminal convictions rely on circumstantial evidence rather than direct evidence such as eye witness testimony. Finger prints, DNA analysis and forensic evidence is considered circumstantial evidence and if all three support one another and point to the same thing it would hold its weight in court in securing a conviction much more so than just relying on eye witness testimony which can change or become distorted over time due to memory. Perhaps you misunderstand and underestimate the importance of circumstantial evidence.

Gordon Bennett All good points, but I still think it would be a tough case to win not only because all the physical evidence- the gun, the body, the whole greenhouse itself- is gone, along with DNA, but also because the Seattle PD has too much to lose by the truth coming out. They would do everything in their power to cover up evidence and sabotage the investigation and trial. Also think of all the behind the scenes powerful moneyed interests that have too much to lose. They would for sure bribe, threaten and even kill to maintain the cover up. I’m not sure anything short of a witness stand breakdown and confession by Courtney or a co-conspirator could do it.

The "suicide" note was actually Kurt talking about leaving Nirvana The last part that referenced suicide was a forgery... but if you think Courtney orchestrated his "suicide" with no help from other people that would benefit just as much from his death You're nuts lol.

On the matter of Nirvana and the money/who gets it, honestly, who else was going to get the money? they were married, thus she was the closest -> money goes to her and Frances first. That's how the system works. Though you could probably argue the fact that she killed him there, which I don't believe in in the slightest, so let's not get into that. And no, successful as in genuinely talented and successful, as in has toured around the world as recently as this year, as someone who has been through hell and come back standing taller than ever. But hey. You won't really be convinced by this,. Just like I won't change my mind to fit your opinion, because well, she changed my life. I wouldn't be talking to you if it wasn't for this woman. paranormalfrank He didn't get any facts though; nor did he get any good interviews, he didn't speak to anyone close to Kurt and/or Courtney or the situation; not even one person. Who did he speak to? A corrupt ex-cop who has been attempting to exploit the tragedy with a series of trumped up claims rather than any real evidence, means, motive, or opportunity at the time (when there were PLENTY of opportunities in the past); he spoke to Courtney's estranged p.o.s. father who abused her as a young child. He spoke to some crazy guy named El Duce, labeling him as a friend of Courtney, when he is the very definition of everything Courtney was against. He also never explained why Courtney saved Kurt's life so many occasions when Kurt was ODing on heroin to the point of oblivion - that alone is fatal to any kind of elaborate murder conspiracy claims. The point is moot when you consider that the documentor is Nick Broomfield, a notorious tabloid conspiracy theorist. You should not believe anything this guy says in any of his "documentaries."

Seekarr How the hell do you know for a "FACT" that courtney saved kurt from oding.You would have to be close friends with them to know that. Nick Broomfield never said Courtney killed kurt, did you watch the same film, he was arguing with her father about his opinion on Courtney. The only issue that nick took to heart was the freedom of the press, did you hear Kurt and Courtney threaten to kill the girl about her book she was doing, it was recorded on her answering machine. He was upset with her being chosen to give award to journalism but anything to do with the conspiracy theory with Courtney killing Kurt, he disputed with everybody on that, the private detective, Courtney's dad, el duce he said, people might not find you a reliable witness. He wanted to talk to Courtney but she didn't, nobody friends with Kurt and Courtney wouldn't speak to nick because Courtney sent private detectives around to there homes warning them. I think you need to watch this documentary again. nick was hindered all the way to do this documentary, why was that SEEKARR. I have nothing against Courtney, I don't think she had nothing to do with Kurt's passing, but it was obvious she didn't want it made. if she has nothing to hide, why did she object so much to a documentary being made.The only people left to interview was ex junkie friends with nothing much to say and people that believed that Courtney had something to do with Kurt's death, and that's Courtney's fault.If she opened up to nick he would of been extremely fair to both sides of the coin. I've watched his other documentary's his not the type that goes on witch hunts.

Triangleman3 Yes, but I know that the "the sky is blue" by my own observation; and were I colour blind, I would still have access to a wealth of good sources. Nick Broomfield being right about the colour of the sky, doesn't stop his conspiracy theory documentaries from being poorly sourced and jumping to crazy conclusions that no good sources support.

Seekarr have you watched his documentaries on aileen wournos were was his tabloid reporting there, he made an extremely fair, factual report and in these documentaries he got great witnesses not like in "kurt and courtney" were counrtney was throwing up road blocks to his every move. Like I said, were you watching the same documentary.

Kurt may have bought the shotgun for protection and started using heroin because his stomach hurt. That has nothing to do with what he did with both after that initial purpose. And how does her own father know anything about anything, he wasn't even in their lives. That El Duce guy was hardly a thread btw, even if she did try to hire him at one stage. Where's the prove? He doesn't exactly look like the most reliable witness ever. Hardly worth the risk killing him. In fact a lot of the people I see presenting all this 'prove' (a lot of it is purely based on blackwashing CL, which is really a nuisance to elbow through, trying to filter the factual evidence people claim to have) lead me to suspect they love the attention they get by doing so. Like that private investigator. The guy who was hired to find Cobain and actually had him right under his nose a day before he was found. Some private investigator, the garage (with Cobain's car in it) and the greenhouse were hard to miss, looking at the pictures of the property. He could have been 'the guy who found Cobain', instead he had to deal with the rather pityful status of 'the guy who was paid to find him but failed to do so'. Apparently he found another way to be able to play his part in this whole sad business. If Kurt Cobain was killed by (or through) CL: - why was he shot when he'd had enough heroin inside his body to kill him anyway - why was he in the greenhouse with his killer (I can understand him going there on his own because it was the nearest closed/hidden space after leaving his car) - how was he forced to take the drugs without any sign of a struggle - how did the killer(s) know where to find his own gun; he had it with him? Why didn't he use it to protect himself then?

He was convinced to smoke up by person he trusted and then that person gave him the lethal dose - how did the killer(s) know where to find his own gun; he had it with him? Why didn't he use it to protect himself then? Kurt had the gun whilst he was in the greenhouse, because he was watching out for intruders. It is not rocket science, it is very easily done.

- Why stage that suicide by including a totally unnecessary shotgun - increasing the chance of making mistakes by complicating the scene - when the overdose was convincing enough? - I thought the theory concerned a hitman he didn't know, who was the killer according to you? And why not just go inside the house and get the shot there with this alledgedly trusted person? The place where he always took his shots? - Kurt carried that gun with him all the time? There would have been eyewitnesses to confirm that, it was a big gun. Not something you hide in your pocket. There was only one reason for him to carry that gun: to use it.

I suppose a significant amount of time had passed since his death and it was no longer important for her to appear to be appalled by the whole thing. I hope the truth comes out one day soon, he seemed to have a good spirit but as usual, the drugs and fame f*cked in the arse in the end.

He took her to Europe with him when he went to The UK to study and write. He is brilliant but disturbed. Her mother wrote a bio. I can’t stand Courtney but she had a really f-d up family and childhood. But talented writers on both sides. Grandmother wrote about sleeping with Brando and getting pregnant!!

i didnt realize new photos were found. i do think it is bizzare the daughter didnt want them shown. you'd think from such a tragedy they would raise suicide awareness instead of preventing them from being released . not saying love had anything to do with the death of kurt but there are questionable actions being done
