I feel like Kurt belongs to Kim more than anyone else. Frances doesn't know him, friends don't see everything and Courtney and their mother seem like selfish users. Kim and Kurt seem very similar and have been through something, a life, that no-one else has. Poor Kim.

Kurt c. was merely months apart from my age, And his message hit home , it was anger @ a system that divides and pits us all against one another. the apathy, anger, frustration, All things we felt then kurt layed it out, he was literally screaming for there to be more love and to be loved.. Love is only real when given with no expectation of return, it comes purely from the heart .How can we have a loving society when a price is placed upon everything. @UCFhThdlRmNX9CxMu5-PQzew Well, than you haven't seen her interact with her mother. There are some clips on KZread in which mother and daughter appear extremely codependant and insincere, like for example Kim completing and remembering her mothers sentences and memories. If you have watched Wendys speech of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame memorial for Nirvana you would understand how cold and umempathic and phony his entire family actually is. Knowing Kurts background, it's so obvious what a lying, narcissistic and manipulative woman Wendy actually was. There was also no signs of sorrow or pain from Kim which would indicate or acknowledge the loss of her brother. Just compare Krist to Kim/Wendy. Krist, to this day, is still heart-broken since the death of Kurt, you can see it in his eyes, face and body language. Even Courtney Love remembered a scene where Kurt overdosed in front of his mother and sister and both (!) just took the fuck off. Very loving behaviour isn't it? So yeah Kim is just as fucking bad as Wendy. Ironnically, my own mother and sister actually have the same kind of symbiotic and toxic mother/daughter relationship as this narcissist (Wendy) and narcissist enabler (Kim).
@paulmcduff19303 жыл бұрын
Love this,see this is what people forget. kurt was as human as the rest of us , and his sisters interview confirms it. Kurt always stood up for females especially in his music and interviews. And its really nice to see that since his death, his sister can sit down and give us an insight into the young kurt. And even after all the shit , she still has those fond memories of her brother. Thank you Kim I wish everyone was as honest about kurt as you.

Blinking is not always lying. Blinking while silent and constant "uuuuuh" "uuuums" or looking for answers is a sign of lying. The constant blinking from the mom and Courtney is from not wanting to talk about it and/or *GUILT*. Courtney is a lying bitch, yes, we know this, but she's also a recovering junkie and one of the most difficult aspects of sobriety is the overwhelming guilt for all the shit you did when you were an addict.

Thanks for giving this interview Kim. As a teenager I would identify with Kurt, probably as many did. But, it's heartbreaking, as someone who is also very family oriented, to hear what happened to Kurt after the divorce. I think personally my soul would break into many pieces if such a thing happened to me at that age. Even now, I rely heavily on my family. Lets say I'm not surprised Kurt was having such a hard time, I would probably not get very old that way either. It's 'healing' in a way to hear from his (very sober and nice) sister, instead of the lunatics who claim to represent him.
@brittany_alexandra7 жыл бұрын
I think it's totally unfair to use your own children as ammunition against your spouse. My parents aren't divorced, but by the amount of fighting they do, they should be. There have been numerous times where my mother would pin me against my own father as a way to hurt him during their arguments and say things like, "Your daughter hates you." and other things that couldn't be further from the truth. I've lived with it enough to know that my father trusts me enough to not believe the things my mother says and has said to him during their arguments, but those are just things that I don't think I could ever forgive my mother for saying just as ways to get back at my father when they're fighting. It's so morally wrong to do that to your own children and stuff like that can permanently divide families and add in distance and guilt between the children and their parents. I'd rather them be divorced than continue to mentally and verbally abuse each other and subject us to it for the rest of our lives and leave us with the emotional and mental scars in the end of it all. My parents should have never gotten married.
@copheart
7 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. This is my mothers m.o. and even after all these years is still a problem (even after 3 marriages.) I can understand if it's something that happens when a person is younger and they learn from it and stop the behavior, but that never happened. It actually got worse with my younger brothers and sister. It's funny growing up and looking to your parents as these "adults" who you listen to etc, but after a while you start to see them more as just another person who makes mistakes and doesn't have things figured out either.
@MrFartboy79
6 жыл бұрын
Brittany Loveless I hear ya... no one, no family and no childhood is perfect... my family life growing up was heavy. Lots of verbal and emotional abuse and a lot head games, mostly from my stepmother in an attempt to get my sister and I to move out and in with my mother full time. This was when I was ages 8 through 16 when I finally left. My dad could be just as bad or he just didn't want to know. My half siblings were treated infinitely better, got more, did more, etc. etc. But as you get older you see things clearer and learn to let it go (as much as possible) or it'll eat you up. Believe me, I'm grown and with a family of my own and while I'm nothing but supportive and loving to my kids, I can still feel the effects of being put down everyday and by the people who are supposed to raise, love and protect you. It's not easy but ya can't change it. If I could somehow go back and tell my younger self anything, it'd be to "not let shit get to ya, it doesn't matter cause one day it'll be all over and in the past." May not seem like it at the time but it does end. Hang in there.

I agree. Although I'll always love them in their own individual way I can't stand them as a couple just because of the amount of poison that's devoured their marriage. My mom's an alcoholic which is what I believe to be one of the main reasons why their marriage has deteriorated. It sucks, it's sad and it's hard, but the only good thing I can really get out of it is a picture that I'll be sure to never paint in my future. Thanks for reading and replying. You must remember beforehand to document your revelations, whilst watching the film..Once I watched it on mescaline, and it was oh so epic. It's beneficial to believe that you've discovered some universal truth(es) even if you were mistaken, and merely loaded. I think such delusion necessary to eventually gain perspective, which might to your perception of the actions that you take, relative to where you are, especially when in opposition to where it is that you truly want to be. I think she's part of the most sincere interviewees in the documentary. Along with Krist and Tracy Marander, Kurt's sister seems very honest. As to Wendy (Kurt´s mom) and Courtney Love, no comments (don´t hate Courtney, by the way), but i don´t believe her typical hyperbolic stuff she claims in the footage...image wash both of them. The only thing that i do not agree with Kim is that Kurt wanted the family, but then he didin't, like fighting against what he really wanted. I don´t see it that way, and it's well documented that Kurt behaved in a rebellious way (with a good reason), cause his mom gave him a hard time, especially his boyfriends, which were complete close minded morons, and they treated him badly.

Jeez - fancy grounding your own son for a year - a whole year !! A sticking rigidly to it - that’s just so cruel, spiteful and mean spirited of Kurt’s father. How horribly humiliating - no goddamn wonder Kurt hated being humiliated in later years. Makes complete sense as a child’s mind is so vulnerable and ill equipped to deal with the cruel and belittling ways of an adult bent on bringing punishment down on them. I’ll always hate those ppl/parents who’ve resorted to this type of abuse. It’s just so not fucking on !!! Peace !! Rx

And serial killers too
Thanks for giving this interview Kim.
@copheart
@MrFartboy79

It sucks, it's sad and it's hard, but the only good thing I can really get out of it is a picture that I'll be sure to never paint in my future. Thanks for reading and replying. serve the servants.....I tried hard to have a sister but instead I had a dad.....Kurt.
I don´t see it that way, and it's well documented that Kurt behaved in a rebellious way (with a good reason), cause his mom gave him a hard time, especially his boyfriends, which were complete close minded morons, and they treated him badly.
lol I flipped my middle finger to my kindergarten teacher 😂😂😂 she got up and pulled me by my right ear and took me to the principals office and they called my mom and I got made fun of when we all had recess because I couldn't play and had to sit next to a classroom and I just sat watching the other kids play while I got laughed at😥😥😥
Mommas boy
I think Kim looks like Kurt in some ways. Likeness could be inherited, but attractiveness is just a pure luck 😁
Peace !! Rx
Montage of Heck was shit, pure Courtney-sanctioned BS. But it's nice hear Kim's thoughts on her brother.
The both talk so similar, count all the times she said "you know" then do the same with Kurt on an interview with him
I know that Kim Cobain is gay. Does anyone know if it's true that Kurt's song "Been a son" was inspired by his sister? Thanks..

Yes Been A Son is exactly about her family not liking her as much because she is gay.

Why doesn't Kurt mention her at all though? Maybe I am wrong but I haven't seen an interview where he mentions Kim

She’s his sister and seems pretty mellow, like she’d probably not want the media hounding her constantly. I think he was probably just respectful of her.

he was kept from her a large portion of his childhood as she lived with the mother and he was with his father until they started passing him around and not giving a shit about him anymore. kim was kept away and i think he wanted to keep her protected in a way too because she was innocent of all the chaos and abuse.
No Kim I "don't" know. I don't know anything about your family except for the fact that your brother is an absolute legend and will be remembered until the end of time.

Hard to credit that there are people older than 30 who weren't even born when Nirvana broke into the scene.
The only people i have seen celebrating Kurt Cobain are Kim Cobain and Dave Grohl and i guess that's what we really need to do, rather than calling out on his wife, daughter, mother and father. They really don't matter while and they shouldn't while talking about Kurt. Ofc, sympathy should be there, but yea... just my 2 cents.
You don’t hear much of Kim krist Dave and her where the people who care most for him
She looks like a clever woman

I don't get it....after watching heck I got the vibe that kurt and his sisters mother and father where selfish,both in different ways.....what I don't get is Kurt and his sister feel so opposite from them........... kurts sister seems so cool just like her big brother 💖
Grounded for a year. Cruel. Poor Kurt. His mother should have taken him home.
They look alike but I think she favors don more
It must be hard for the sis
It's weird i can't pick out any resemblances to kurt facially yet his uncle Gary their eyes are so alike
I wonder if Nirvana would of existed if his parents didn’t divorce?
grounded for a year, and from TV too? wtf
