I love you reaction and dude you know music, and that she is beyond what we see all the time, just great voices, but nothing like her, you your self get transformed with her and feel the music the way you are suppose to. Now, i understand other's people's comment about AGT being more than just music singing contest show. But, what she is doing, she shouldn't be doing it not even close... she's performing at such a professional level it's no joke... as far as the other contestants, no can touch her as far as talent...

The voice, the energy, the showmanship, the stage presence, her unique look and those damn legs going wild is too much! I'm not typically blown away, but Courtney is nothing but pure joy. If she does anything other than music with her life it will be a crime. Music is what she's supposed to do. Great reax, dude. Enjoying your channel.

Dear DTN, I really apreciate your reactions to Courtney shows. It´s pure eletricity in the stage and spectators. By my way, I considerer that a new generation of young phenomenal artists already entered the whole game... rsrss It´s the MILLENNIUM GENERATION, conductd by Courtz (16 yo), the russian Diana Ankudinova (just turned 18), the spanish Charlotte Summers (15 yo) and the kazhak singer Daneliya Tuleshova (14 yo) I´m sure that this young stars will dominate immediatlily the word of pop/rock/r&b/ballad, wow, every genre of music you can imagine. With the control of Pandemia, they will explode the world of music.

Courtney did not lose she was voted against by the phone audience. Michael Ketterer vs Courtney Hadwin. She lost to Michael. He had a sob story and I think the story gave him the edge. The overall winner was a man named Shin Lim a magician. I must say; I am not a music person. I am 57 and I have never been to a concert nor have I ever consindered going to one. I will consider her concert.

did you hear what happen to Michael? And he can't even sing, nothing close to the talent of Courtney. He was arrested for Domestic Violence soon after. Way to Go America...i didn't hear the story, but I looked him up and watched his singing and it was horrible and found out that he was later arrested for Domestic violence. Shin Lim won the Champions over Courtney, but for Courtney by then it wasn't a matter of winning, but exposure since she got a record contract after she lost in the AGT...

  • @julianholton5803
    @julianholton58033 жыл бұрын

Thanks for your enthusiastic reaction, and sorry for your chair! You ask who won AGT 2018. The winner was Shin Lim. One feature about AGT is that it's not a singing competition only. For example in 2018 the winner (Shin Lim) was a magician, the 2nd was a dance group (Zurcaroh), the 3rd was a violinist (Brian King Joseph) and the 4th was a standup comedian (Samuel J Comroe). The first singer (Michael Ketterer) finished 5th, followed by Courtney. So if you count only the singers Courtney was 2nd. Not bad at all for a 14 year old! You might be interested by Matt Carter's video titled "AGT finale reaction: Should Shin Lim, Zurcaroh, or Courtney Hadwin win?". He correctly predicted the winner and the 2nd place, and thought Courtney would finish 3rd. If you have any interest in AGT, you will appreciate his sharp analyses. Courtney was invited, together with some other 2018 finalists, to the Vegas show by AGT. The show took place in early November 2018. Courtney sang 4 songs: Hold On I'm Coming, Pretty Little Thing (her original), Hard To Handle, Nutbush City Limits. Although, as David Bouras already pointed out, the videos of Courtney's Vegas performances are not of very good quality, you can still feel her passion. Although she was not in her best condition there because of some illness (she had respiratory problems, which of course impacted her singing), she was professional and completed all the 5 planned shows.

You are right, but what a lot of people don't know was there was some judge fighting going on between Mel, Heidi and Simon at the time. I had talk to someone recently and believed that Courtney's cost came from Heidi and Mel B though, pretty much speculation, but after Champions they were replaced or looks like Mel B. Also many people thought that Simon had seen Courtney's stage act from Voice Kids UK had her flown to AGT, and had staged this whole shy act, according to AGT's "PR" and that people were outraged and didn't vote for Courtney, because they thought she was being deceptive with her shy act... However it wasn't fake at all and Simon didn't stage anything, and Courtney didn't break any rules, and thought she would do better in the U.S. than BGT; and by her views outnumbering the other contestants the numbers didn't add up. Many fans thought later the vote may have manipulated due to all this controversy that had taken place and the fights that were going on between Simon and Mel B which later on during Champions Tyra got involved, but not much on Mel B side according to what I was told and Mel B was not a happy camper. Many people thought too that Michael Ketterer shouldn't have won, because it was believed he wasn't achieving that "A" or "it" factor... well, soon after, Michael Ketterer was arrested for Domestic violence and down played it. I think Simon regrets his remarks, because he had a long chat with Howie after Howie gave Courtney the Golden buzzer since Howie was the last to use it. The fact is that yes the show wasn't a singing contest, but a talent contest, many back stage along w/Simon and Howie that Courtney out talented and performed any artist that they had witnessed, because of her age her vocal capability and performance was that near a professional scale @ 13 and 14. In an interview the AGT lost was heartbreaking for her, but was happy to get a record contract from Simon before Champions, so she wanted the exposure more than winning. I love her attitude through the whole ordeal and she was just happy to be even on there... Simon over the last couple of years had been complaining like he did on American Idol about bringing real talent. He kept saying it repeatedly and was getting frustrated. Yes, they had some outstanding singers, and performers, but what he was looking for were people like Courtney, that had potential of becoming iconic... Now, from what i hear he wants his son to run the show... I've been in music nearly all my life and around it... Seen some big names... Courtney Hadwin, never seen anything like it, ever especially at her age... Too bad Covid 19 putting a damper on her album, but I'm hearing she's hard at working writing originals, and she really wants to be a rock star... I hope she does...

@@vincentboyd6165 I've read a lot of your comments Vince. And although I've read or watched a lot of the same things you write about, you seem to have some inside knowledge or other sources other than the typical comments by a number of people who do their research well. Many people i seems, will read the comments and assume they are true, and then repeat them as fact, while a few have done some indepth research from other sites other than watch KZread videos of interviews with Courtney, such as articles on local area news interviews with her or other platforms elsewhere. I remember hearing about some groups that had some insight when AGT was going on during Courtney's time on that show. But I never visited those groups. Some things that leak out of there were about the voting system for both AGT regular season and Champions. And they had already known the outcome of the shows, since they were mostly prerecorded. Some knew about Mel B's personal issues and why she was no longer on the show. Which I never repeated because I don't know how true they are and they are damaging on a personal level IMO to her. And a little bit about Heidi moving on to her next venture with some reality show on modeling in her home country I think it was. I don't know how much of these things were true as I never take anything at face value. I'm always looking for more to back up what I find. And that goes for everything, not just music stuff like this. So anyway, i'm curious as to where your sources come from, if you don't mind me asking. Or are they the same as we all get by watching and reading anything we can muster up on her?

@@bertpainter8385 there was guy who commented on my comment and told me that he heard from other people and that it caused BBC to do a piece on her, about the controversy they heard about Courtney Hadwin. Well, BBC proved that Courtney did in fact have anxiety issues and was extremely shy until she went on stage and sang, which she admitted that her first performances were mostly "Ballads" and not this crazy Rock and Roll until she discovered James Brown and the others she had mentioned. As, I said before I was a former Navy Intelligence Specialist, and i had to study many things including human behavior, body language, and crypt shit, and I noticed watching in the Otis Redding audition the behavior of the judges seemed off even when Howie gave her the Golden Buzzer, especially Mel B's body language...so, i did more digging and there were columns by editors that were talking about a previous fight between Mel B, Simon, and Heidi with some female singer from Honduras or something and after that the bitterness got worse. They had all used they're golden buzzers except Mel B and when Courtney came on they were all stunned, because she was at the end, which basically started the controversy because, Howie was the only one that had a golden buzzer open... Now, they're not going to come out openly and say yah, I was pissed at this person or what have, because of the respect for their professionalism and the biz, but if you look hard enough you see...So, i just kept digging more, and more which pretty much backed up my story and the guy who first commented on it to me that I wasn't just imagining it... There was stuff going on... Simon said he even regretted his golden buzzer, but he knew nothing about Courtney so there was no way he could have staged it as many people thought, because they believed her shyness to be fake. Later after Champions when she lost to Shim Lin many believed it was really due to Mel B and Heidi, because of the comments made when she did "Born to Be Wild" which Mel B and Heidi got "booed" and it was loud... Normally Simon gets the boos... and that Michal who beat Courtney to claim 5th place was arrested for Domestic violence and it was down played which he made $5,000 bail, to finish it out. That's when Simon offered her the contract and then asked her back to champions, but Mel B, and Heidi were still there, but for Courtney then it wasn't about winning which she states, it was about exposure and being on stage to show the people what she can do. Now, Simon does something while he talking to Courtney and it was unreal he did it, but if you watch him close enough his fingers when he scratches his cheek you'll see... I think Simon knew she wasn't going to win, but Howie really thought she was..., Simon knew... that man is not stupid, and knows the game better than anyone... the look, his expression, his demeanor, his words says it all. I mean the math just was adding up. Here is a girl 13 at the time, blows everyone away like a lightening bolt, performs like a professional and has vocals out of this world and she lost? I guess Heidi still on the show, Mel B is replaced according to what AGT has judges for 2021-2022, but now Simon is thinking about his son taking over the show...

@@vincentboyd6165 Gotcha. I'm always looking for other areas to find out the ins and outs of what really goes on. I've learned a while ago from work, that people have no clue of the going ons that are true behind the scenes where the decisions are made. Much of which is dishonest to a degree for to almighty dollar. For me, i've owned and run my own business for just about 40 years and always tried to be honest to a fault at times, but none the less honest and fair. Not everyone got that because other competitors had a gift of gab and sold them a line of crap. But I learned to not care if I was being straight with them. If they wanted to be sold bullshit by others so be it. Anyway, the real crap that goes on behind the scenes is what interests me. Because I know it's there. Would love to be that fly on the wall lol

@@bertpainter8385 i learned from my dad you have to be straight up in the biz, even if people don't like to hear it, like Simon. And yes there will be a time where you'll go F***, messed that one up... You know like the judges in Voices Kids UK and AGT. It happens. but, that's why Simon is Simon tells it like it is. It's why he gets booed so much, and he laughs... You can sing or you can't that's it or you can act or you can't. And, if they're going to be paying big money, they want the value out of it, they're making huge investments in someone's talent. Here's a good example Willie Nelson. Now, no disrespect to the guy and he's made millions and a shit load of records, but C'mon! Is he a good singer? I mean can he really sing? I don't think so. Yes, he has a distinct voice, but he almost has no scale changes, octave changes and what you have in good singers like George Strait, Waylon Jennings, Kenny Rogers, John Denver and many more... but, he makes up for that in entertainment... if you are going to invest in a musician be straight up honest even if it's ugly, cause it can get uglier if you don't... Me i have no problem in that division, and one might say yah, well you can't sing either. And I'll answer yes, that's true, but I know music and I know what it takes to be a good singer and my knowledge makes me qualified...

She did have very strong completion. One person said her phone line was overwhelmed with calls and so she lost a lot of votes.

Two Courtney reactions in one day! What you are you doing to us??? We are over-dosing on super-lit Courtz performances! It's definitely amazing how, just like Prince and Michael Jackson would be in their "shells" until the performance began, Courtz is similar - She turns into a lioness once the music starts!!! Agree with you that she is "IT". What is nuts, is that she was only 14 when she performed this cool Tina Turner song you just reacted to. She's already an unbelievable singer! Can you imagine her at 18? At 25? At 32? MAN! Her potential is virtually limitless!!! Can't wait till her originals drop in the coming months! In the meantime, would you PLEASE 🙏 react to her performance at an actual concert with the rock group, The Struts? They invited her to sing two songs with them, including this one "PIECE OF MY HEART" from one of her all-time favorite singers, Janis Joplin - kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqVqurBrmraXo6g.html

Hey Neal. I love it. A Courtney doubleheader today. Is it too much to hope for that we might even get three 😂. Another great reaction. This was a sensational performance by Courtney. She owned the stage, she owned the song, she owned the crowd and she owned the judges. The fact that she didn't win the 2018 season of AGT is a total and complete travesty. However, in the long run, Courtney is the big winner. She got the exposure that her incredible talent needed and she is not chained to an AGT contract that is, by all accounts, completely biased against the performer. In the end, Courtney is the one that has gone on to be a worldwide superstar with a following of millions, on the verge of dropping her first album of original music and ready to start touring to sold out stadiums and arenas everywhere. To answer your question, magician Shin Lim won AGT that year. No disrepect to him, as he is quite talented, but I might be able to sit through his show once whereas, I could sit through a Courtney concert every day of the year and never get tired of it. There was only one superstar that came out of the 2018 season of AGT and so all ended up as it always was meant to be. You have two more of Courtney's AGT performances to react to. One is her semi-final rendition of 'Born to be Wild', where she completely devoured the stage and the other is a special finals performance with her and a British band called 'The Struts' (which has it's own backstory 😂), but both performances were sensational and are must sees for Courtney Fans. she didn't win any of them even in the Voice where you have to see her. I heard all of the excuses why she lost and I did the research, and I can tell you...b.s.. and a lot of people knew it. but, now looking at what she is doing now, 2021 in all her cover songs. OMG... Sometimes losing can make you stronger and she's coming out as a Reckoning in Rock R&B Soul and she will tear up the charts like no one's business. And her concerts will be out of this world and she is a performer. It's not her shyness that really captivates you, the way she sings and commands the stage. You feel it, and you are transformed into the music like she is and you just can't get enough, because she has this contagious energy and voice. Most singers who do all that dancing are lip syncing, because they can't control their voice to stay on tune, and not get winded, then you have the ones who just sing walking around on stage, which you can hear them struggle to keep wind in their lungs to walk from one end to the other while holding the song in tune. I've seen it many times in live concerts and she has such professional natural control it's crazy, something at her age shouldn't be able to do. Many people don't understand music is a spiritual thing and when you touch people like that with your voice, stage command, and be yourself is a great gift and one that's rarely seen in the biz...

  • @bertpainter8385

Hmmm, pretty certain not the background instrumentation anyway. But I agree that she doesn't get enough mentions about her creative juices. She may hum how she wants it to go and then the musicians will give her their take on what they think she wants. She's only been playing guitar this past year and a half. So any playing early on guitar was out, and piano she said she gave up learning how to play when she was a little younger. The way it goes (I'm a musician, guitarist/bassist, and have done my own recordings with bands and friends and also on the internet with people on a Roland recording site.) is usually you have a basic idea and if you can play an instrument you record your vocals with that instrument as a demo, that is if you sing too. Then you have other musicians (unless you are that talented to play more than one instrument) play or write their part and add it in. You can use a drum track or create a drum part with programing or hardware drum kits. Once you put it together and find the sound you're looking for, then it's time to hit the studio be it professional or home. Even the professional artists/writers rarely write/create all the parts to their songs throughout the last 60 years at least that I'm aware off. Maybe two of the Beatles, Lennon and McCarthy, and single artists like Bob Dylan, etc. There's a number of them, but not as many as people may think. For the last 20 or so year there's been 2 main guys writing all the hits we've been hearing. Max Martin company of songwriters (who by the way Courtney had worked with while in Sweden) and Dr. Luke (Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald). What Courtney has mentioned is, when she hears a song she wants to cover, that she likes in her head, she already has it figured out how she wants to sing it. How she goes about translating that to others so they can play along with what she wants it to sound like is a great question to ask her one day on one of her live chats. That would be so cool to know. Because all her ideas are so damn creative. Those 2 session musicians she recorded her "Cover Sessions" with were impressive to me on how they came up with their parts by just listening to Courtney. Especially the guitarist., probably because that's what I play too. But that's just what session musician do. But his rock version to "Old time road" was perfect in every way and he nailed that part. The sound he gets out of his 335 and Fender amp is so crunchy and made for rock.

@@bertpainter8385 Thanks for all the info Bert ! I'm not a musician but I obviously enjoy music ! I often wondered even when she was very young and using canned music as to how she could adapt that to her singing has she put her on and spin on everything. I'm sure she has her hand on the finished product !

@@bertpainter8385 nailed it right on the bullseye. She hums out the tune to how she thinks it should go then the rest is on the instrumental musicians. But, at her age she does it so well. I mean damn i've seen guys in many years into it and have a hard time and then manipulating your voice to fit the song or the song to fit your voice, you know... that's why many labels are so taboo on crossovers, because many can't do it... be like asking Gene Simons to do country... I mean he "probably" could I don't know, he could barely do rock. Paul Stanley has a much better voice.. but you are so on it, her studio is so simple it's crazy how good she makes it sound. I've never seen anything like that... it's usually "Cut! WtF C'mon man!" sometimes even worse, but hey that was back in the day, okay from the 105th time lets get this right! I seen her video of the Etta James song and she was so young, and to sound like that, blew my F'n socks right off. I'm like are you kidding me! I've heard Etta James and Courtney made it better even at like what 8 years old. Dude that's unheard of. I have watched her so many times and every time it just blows my mind... and dude I've watched these other singers people have been talking about and I'm like Ehhh... ok good, but nothing that just possesses you like she does... I'm sure for her first album most of the songs will be co-written or written by who you were saying, because of the time. The Covid 19 had put a damper on that as well too so... but, yah, i totally 100% agree with your comment...

@@vincentboyd6165 As far as studios go, times have changed that's for sure. PC recording can do amazing things today, quickly and easily. What they lack in digital limitations sound wise, it makes up for in diversity and manipulation. Although I still love analog tapes liveliness more. From what I hear a lot of rock artists will run their digital recording through some type of program to give it that analog sound. I forget the name of the product though. I know Courtney said she worked with Max Martin on "Pretty Little Thing". I've read an interview with him (which he rarely does) and although he's not working directly with musician much anymore he has his people who he has personally trained or his top people have trained to what he looks for in songs to work with the artists. But he does occasionally work directly with them too. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave Courtney his time. He did start out with rock before he got known. And anyone who hears how special she is, I would think would love to work with her. Btw, I meant to comment on some of your other posts that I've commented on but just haven't gotten time to lately. And I'm happy to see someone who knows how the whole process of writing and recording works. Sometimes I feel like I say too much and people may think I act like a know it all (but honestly I don't care what people think of me anymore. I'm me, like it or not), but I just get excited and into that whole aspect of music, probably almost as much as creating and playing it myself. Which unfortunately I don't do much of either these days. I have brought all my old hardware gear back into a room to set up my studio again. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to finish it and then to use it. I mean it's somewhat usable, but not how it should be. Plus recently I purchased a computer just for recording music that can handle video and audio, so when I do finally get back into it I'll be able to keep up with the times. lol. PC recording is the quickest way to get your music on tape today, but does have a learning curve that I'm not yet real familiar with. Now if I could only start playing regularly again. The fingers don't move so freely unless you play everyday as we age it seems. And playing a 12 string kills my wrists and forearms on bar chords. Those muscle have wilted away it seems. I get cramps if I don't play my 12 string all the time. Time to switch to lighter gauge strings I think. lol

@@bertpainter8385 sorry to hear that with your fingers and all. I miss playing the 12 string had to sell mine when I was going through some hardship after the Gulf War... but playing guitar and drums is in my blood. MY dad played for over 20 years and majority of making money traveling all over to make ends meet, till my mom made him quit. But, he was good, he could always draw a crowd when he played. i didn't start playing as young when he did, because my mom, just hated the music industry, but playing comes natural for me. Now, singing is a different thing. Yah, I can sing some songs and stay in tune, but I'm no legend, but I love music and all genres, but I know the biz too after seeing what my dad went through all those years playing gigs. I heard Courtney say the same thing, probably from the same interview. I think what really blows my mind that to me is unreal is that she said when she listens to the older music she feels, "alive" like that's her music and that she likes Katy Perry, Pink, Lady Gaga and many more recent, but she says it's not the same... Now, she shouldn't be saying things like that at her age. How, many 8 year old girls or boys could you introduce Etta James and them really loving the music? They'd be like ehhhh... You know what i mean? "All I could do was Cry" by Etta James@8 years old singing like she did; I knew she was a prodigy. 8 years old cannot sing like that, i don't even think their vocal chords would be that developed yet or trained... Look @ Darcy Lynn, very young, and her voice was yah, outstanding especially for a ventriloquist, but didn't have that, "you're mine and you cannot resist, I'm the queen!" Even Susan Boyle! Sure, her voice is wow, but entertainment wise she doesn't have that phenomena persona that lures you in and captures you... But, hey I hear ya man... When i seen you're comments i knew you knew music, and weren't one of these know-it-alls. They talk differently. Sometimes i get that too... hey don't worry about responding right away or getting to them late. I don't expect that...I know people have lives and what have you. I did hear Courtney say they didn't want her to do "Pretty Little Thing", but she said she insisted. So, yah, she wanted to do it, but you were right that they didn't want to do it, because to them it sounded "Pop", and they didn't want that... but, yah, technology has made studios so much different back in the day when you had to work with "track tape", shit now they can just about anything these days. I remember being at a Radio Station in the 80's called WLOL in MN and was doing a high school thing, because i was learning to be a DJ, which I didn't have that voice for radio, but it was an awesome learning experience... about radio and the biz. I love talking music w/ya, cause you do know your stuff.

The reason she did not win is that she was too original. The voters did not know what to do with her. Beside that, most of the voters were young people who did not relate to her genre, her preference. She was the best, but did not have enough who understood her voting for her.

After going through AGT and Voice Kids before and after Courtney Hadwin, there was a reason I quit watching those shows. MY God! ARE you f'n serious! You know, knowing music all my life and being around it, there's a reason there is "legends" and just singers that can sing... Now, i see why Courtney had so many haters though those numbers don't add up to the amount that love her voice and style...and were pissed off she lost, even if she did get a record contract. I or at least in my opinion technology destroyed the "Solo" artists and from 2000 on you had nothing but the "Mickey Mouse" bull-shit and Country too went to shit by people remaking songs only to really "F" them up! Now, I've seen several comments that replied to other people saying that there were better singers and performers than Courtney Hadwin. Yah, bull-shit, not "F'n" one and those people have been listening to Britney Spears for far too long and those in that category. but, i guess studios like "child" trends, because it's $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ than quality of music hitting the road for concerts. Even in the Adult category of Solo artist. WTF! How, many with talent that had been on Voice, and AGT really commanded the stage? I went back and watched a lot of video, didn't see one... All these "F"n tragic stories fucking Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! No, way could I be a judge. I'd be worse than Simon. I don't care about your F'n story okay. You're not here for your tragic story! You're here to blow my mind off the planet w/ your talent, because big money is being invested in you. Story, after story, after F'n story. Yah, well Elvis was a sad story too, but studios didn't give a RATS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stories don't sell records or shows or acting ability for movies, or stage theater. I really don't know how Simon puts up with it... I couldn't... Magicians? Who remembers them? You have to be as great as Copperfield or Houdini, Dynamo, and Angel Dark. Dancing is nearly all the same all the time; choreographed line dancing w/slow mo and updated Pop and Lock w/the break dancing. Then you get these people with the "shock" factor, shit I get more from Friday the 13th then them... I guess winking your eye a couple of times is considered talent. I don't know, maybe it's just me. You want talent in the instrument, shit they never had the "Two Chellos" which they opened for Elton John. Those guys will blow you away what they do w/Chellos. Circus Acts, wow seriously? The stand up comedy was horrible. Is real talent dead or are we just to sympathetic overlooking people who truly belong among the stars? I feel we have. And it's "F'n" sad...
