Courtney Barnett | Long Play Series

Ойын-сауық

Courtney Barnett is a multi-award winning singer-songwriter best known for her deadpan delivery and distinctive left-handed guitar technique. Since the release of her first EP, “I’ve Got A friend Called Emily Ferris” in 2012, Barnett has released two studio albums, won six ARIA Awards, and been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Her record label, Milk! Records (co-founded with Jen Cloher in 2012), functions as a platform for a community of independent artists to release music and to undertake tours, residencies and art projects, both as individual artists and as part of a collective.
In this interview with Brian Nankervis, Barnett discusses her first band Rapid Transit, her song writing process, the recording and pressing her first EP with the financial backing of her grandmother, and the unique billboard campaign that supported the release of the single, ‘Nobody Really Cares if You Don't Go To The Party.’
Interviewer: Brian Nankervis
Location: Melbourne Room, Arts Centre Melbourne, 2017

I was not in Australia for a few years and came home to to discover this Barnett person. Honestly I actually thought she was a comedian making fun of daggy Australian singers who dressed like farmers. I was laughing till I found out she is for real?

ok and what do YOU do when you're not trolling and commenting on creative people's choice of clothing ? Let me guess: nothing special. That's what I thought.
