Interview with Alex Prager
While in Melbourne installing her exhibition at the NGV, Alex Prager took some time out to speak about how she first became interested in photography, the natural transition into filmmaking, her love of and fascination with her hometown of Los Angeles, and her continued passion for constructing human melodramas.

She has an absolutely uncanny ability to completely nail the atmosphere or emotion she is trying to portray both in her photos as well as her films. It's honestly rather astonishing, especially her sensibility to perfectly balance reality and the surreal on the same thin edge to create such delicately, ridiculously, beautifully realistic captures of what is really beneath the veneer of humanity. I also love that she can so easily articulate thoughts about her work without just vomiting art-speak hot words.
