“Being ready for a relationship is not the same thing as being ready to not be lonely anymore.” That’s huge and a lot of people don’t make that distinction!

The way Andrew listens to Shawn intently and looks at her with adoration shows his genuine love for her and that he truly “understands her essence”.

That’s how I feel about my husband. 23 years together and what initially attracted me to him was him being his true self, being silly, making me laugh, and just being 100% real. Still to this day he’s always 100% and my best friend in the whole world. We’ve been through so much and always still laugh together and just have fun with each other.

I love listening to all of the advice that you provide, knowing that you are raw and real with everything makes it easier to listen and not feel attacked. I feel like a lot of people have lived through things that they thought were "normal" whether it was because it's what they saw growing up or what they always experienced. But knowing there's a way to come out of it happier and able to learn from the experiences that you've been through make each day worth it! For me personally looking back is never easy, but at least now when I look forward I feel prepared, ready and supported by the ones that are in my life now! Today I can say that I'm happy, that my kids are happy, and our futures are bright!

Everything that was said is so spot on, huge fan of yalls podcast!! “Arguing well” and communicating effectively is so important! I’ve also learned that learning your persons love language and knowing what brings them happiness is so crucial too. My bf just lost his dad about two months ago and that was the hardest thing he has had to go through. While it is devastating, it definitely brought us closer. Keeping him busy and doing things that made him happy really helped him get through that really difficult time❤️

As someone who is engaged and getting married this upcoming October I must say that he truly hit this out of the park!! He speaks such a raw genuine truth and it is truly inspirational. My fiancé and I both agreed we were going to live together before even considering getting engaged. Dating versus living together/dating is a complete game changer. There are certain things that people have hardwired into them maybe in their cleaning routines or their eating habits and etc. and sometimes those can make or break a relationship but without living together and getting to know that side of them you may never know it to be one of your pet peeves!! Thankfully my fiancé and I once we moved in together our relationship grew and flourished into something even more incredible and we worked together wonderfully just as a well oiled machine would do. It’s so crazy how God created us all differently but creates a person for us that is different but that’s perfectly into who we are. Can’t wait to see y’all in Charlotte!!

Nice to know people all over either have put in the work and have learned lessons or are putting in the work and are learning lessons as they go! No relationship is easy, but it is so worth it!! Been one of the most rewarding things and biggest blessings of my life, even with the struggles that come with it!! So many dynamics that you don’t even think about! Thankful to hear everyone’s stories and lessons!! We are all so unique! We can all learn from and with each other! That’s what it’s all about!!

This video was amazing. Relationships are the most challenging but rewarding thing. What spoke to me most was Shawn talking about Andrew being so authentic and himself because nobody is perfect at all and being yourself is the most vulnerable thing you can do. Something I’ve heard before that I’ll always hold onto is “Take them as they are, not as you hoped they’d be”
