ICYDK. The t-shirt Austin was wearing and signed by the Oak Ridge Boys was bought by 12-year old Austin at an Oak Ridge Boys concert. Now he wears it to sing Elvira with them.

Your timing to upload your reaction to this video coincides with breaking news today that Joe Bonsall, the lead tenor of the Oaks has announced his retirement from touring after 50 years with them. He is suffering from a neuromuscular disease that make it difficult for him to walk. He is the youngest of the group at 75. Duane and Richard are both 80 this year, and William, with the long white beard turns 84.

SO much fun! The two groups really like each other. They did another song together at Christmastime. Elvira was a big hit for the Oaks in the 80’s. (Just so you know, Man of Constant Sorrow is really old, it’s not from the movie). I love the movie but the song is about 100 years old and there are many covers. Home Free did a medley of sea shanties during Covid and it went viral. It attracted Ubisoft the game maker to Home Free and they asked HF to write a shanty for their new game called Skull and Bones. Check that shanty out….it’s great. There’s a short live video for the Ubisoft crowd and a lyric video for it. It’s a banger!!! Also when HF does a live concert, Tim, the bass goes really low for it. He has lots of fun with the audience. Good reaction you two. Hope you had a great holiday!🥰

Adam ( beatboxer) does a 10- 13 min drum/ beatbox solo during every concert maybe you would like to check that out start with an older one 2015 then a newer one where he uses a looper to create his own song. That song at the end was Honey I’m Good. If you want to hear their sea shanties Sea Shanty Medley ( video and Live ) Skull And Bones it is an original written by Chance. They were commissioned to write a sea shanty by Ubisoft for their upcoming game Skull And Bones. It is amazing 😊

This is a great collaboration between Home Free & The Oak Ridge Boys. "Elvira" was a huge hit for The Oakridge Boys in 1981. You can see the great respect these 2 groups have for each other. The Oakridge Boys are mentors to Home Free & it is like they are passing the baton to a younger version of themselves. They have performed together on the Grand Ole Opry. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is the best in the business. He can simulate drums & any other sounds perfectly. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group. They are so talented yet very humble guys.

They need to go watch Adam Rupp’s dumb solo live and it will probably answer his question on if they are treating it as separate recordings or if it’s Rupp doing that all on his own.

The sea shanty medley is a group of pirate songs put together by Adam Chance because he loves sea shanty's. Now that said, because of that video the gaming company UbiSoft wanted Home Free to do backing vocals (or score) for UbiSoft's upcoming game called "Skull And Bones." Since Chance loves sea shanty's he wrote the score with the same name. It would be worth so much to do the (live score) and then the (lyric video) to see the finished product that will go into the game.

When the Oak Ridge Boys announced their retirement from touring the other day, Home Free shared how much they meant to them. ORB was one of the first major groups to give their stamp of approval to HF by letting them cover one of their biggest hits here. They then upped the ante by singing it with them in this video which went viral, and ORB even had HF co-headline a show together. So yeah, this video broke new ground for HF and really put them on the map.

This really gives me the sense of "Home Free Past" meeting "Oak Ridge Boys future". The ORB's bass, Richard Sterban, sang bass for Elvis Presley early in his career. Home Free definitely collaborated with true country legends on this song--and I LOVE this collaboration❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ #HomeFree #OakRidgeBoys

A couple of other fun songs are 9-5 (a Dolly Parton original) and Never Gonna Give You Up. And Sea Shanty Medley. And The Butts Medley. AND Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. Heck...just do all of their songs. We won't mind. Lol

The obvious affection and respect between the two groups is just heart-warming. "Man of Constant Sorrow" was first published in 1913 and later covered by Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and a host of others. Subbing for more Home Free. I enjoyed your reaction. Home Free is a deep rabbit hole to explore, with 180+ songs. Definitely react to Sea Shanty Medley, the official video or the live version, or both. The official video was recorded during covid in their separate homes, highlighting their ability to be goofy and fun. (But the vocals never suffer.) The live version will give you a feel for their live concerts. Both are excellent. Then there's an original shanty Skull And Bones, both a lyric version and a shorter live version. Many reactors will do a double reaction of both versions. Honey I'm Good is a good one, too. Well... any HF video is good!

Everyone seems to talk about just Home Free and Pentatonix, but there are 2 other a cappella groups that Home Free works with that are just as fantastic. Home Free and VoicePlay have worked together on a lot of songs; arranging, writing, and appearing together. Tim helped their bass, Geoff Catastellucci to get his voice down to where it is. Check out VoicePlay vs Home Free Zombies vs Hillbillies Survivor. Tim Foust, Home Free's bass was invited to join The Bass Gang for their video Hooked On a Feeling. That group is four guys, all bass singers, from 2 different US states, Europe, and the Middle East. My other favorites of theirs are Arabian Nights, the sea shanty Jolly Sailor Bold, and Gaston from 91's Beauty and the Beast. Another a cappella singer that has done videos with Home Free is Peter Hollens. The man has a beautiful voice!. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by Hollens and HF is one amazing number.

He does this song live in concert and he sounds just as amazing. Yes, they do break up the percussion, like they do the singing when being produced. In fact Adam, the beatboxer, does his own editing. He has spent weeks practicing just one sound until it sounds like an actual drum kit. He learned to play the drums many years ago so he could be more accurate. He also does your typical beatbox stuff like scratching etc, along with percussion & instrument sounds. Many people believe he's the best beatboxer in a cappella, and I would have to agree.

Loving your #HomeFree reactions Dave & Ash!! Please keep them coming and you will discover they never disappoint! A group of guys who love what they do and support each other while paying homage to legends and helping encourage other young acts - they share the spotlight so well in every collaboration they do. You’ll see what I mean when you check out: American Pie feat. Don McLean - done separately during Covid for the song’s 50th anniversary God ables the USA feat. Lee Greenwood and the USaF Singing Sergeants - also done separately during Covid Meant to Be feat. Lisa Cimorelli is a fun one The Horses feat. Travis Collin’s and Amy Sheppard - done in Australia Spring of 2023 Delta Dawn feat. Brooke Eden Givin’ Up Givin’ Up On You feat. Texas Hill - an original they co-wrote together Dreamer LIVE at the Ryman feat. Texas Hill - with a fun intro of everyone by Tim mid-song (there are 3 versions of this song, but IMHO this one is the best as it’s live) One Voice feat. Billy Gilman - have tissues handy and play until the end Don’t Laugh At Me feat Mark Wills (and his daughter who joins in at the end) - again tissue may be needed and watch to the end Children, Go Where I Send Thee feat. Kenny Rogers - again watch to the end for a neat message from Kenny on how they met This is just a small part of their rabbit hole. Can’t wait for you two to keep exploring #HomeFree together - they just keep getting better!

This might be my favorite song of them. Besides the Butts and Sea Shanty Medleys. Both of which Ash will very certainly like a lot. I really like that Home Free are featuring a few of the original artists in their covers. Their version of American Pie is also very good. The medleys from Voiceplay are very good, also. Especially the Wicked Medley. The Disney ones are fun, too. And I'll reiterate my suggestion for Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down (kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXqpr62dot22obg.htmlsi=ULq39kHfmaTRtzjp) It is good music with a few very good singers and I think both of you will enjoy at least parts of it and have quite a bit to talk about. It is a longer one, but wont get boring. That much I can promise. ;-)

Hi guys. 2 of the best vocal groups ever. So funny to see Austin fan boying over the Oaks. Dave you are right about how most vocal group beatboxers put down tracks and play it over their live performances. However, while Adam has started adding more electronics this is a clip from a live show. In it you see Adam doing a live drum solo and a couple more effects just for fun. They do this in most of their live shows. The other guys leave the stage and Adam takes over. This is just a small part of what he can do. Enjoy!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/d5WirbmFhcSqoMo.html

Get a little deeper and more familiar with Home Free, then do Mayday. Be sure to know them all well before you do though. It'll pay off huge!!!

I love Home Free, but I didn't like this in the 70's when it came out so no on this one! Please check out Brother's In Arms, Mayday, Helplessly Hoping, In The Blood, and many more!
