I suspect that the cat has been around longer, maybe even belonged to the previous owners. Cats are territorial so it would be natural for the cat to stay around the house (the area looks like a good hunting ground, too) and wait for its next servants 🙂

My mom bought a house over three years ago and there was a cat. He is the best part about her getting this house. I told mom that she bought a cat and got a free house. We love little George Jones. Yes that's what mom named him. He's never left us. He even comes in the house. This is his home and he is part of our family.

Its so nice of the cat to adopt them! That lady was lost without such a magnificent being as Angel. You heard her at the end......that finding him was the thing that confirmed they made the right decision moving there. So that means she was questioning if moving to that place was good to begin with until the cat adopted them 🤣🤣

Oh the cat that some times acts like a dog. My barn cat is like that. He some times blocks the driveway. So I have to get out of the vehicle and move him to get to the street.

That’s the most cuddly cat I've ever seen. I’m glad he chose wonderful people!

My ex-wife and her husband bought a house in Arkansas, came with two 'barn cats'. Would only stay indoors for a day or so at a time. But they got their shots, got snipped, and lived their days there. Then they amassed a delightful collection of rescued kitties. 12 at the peak, all shots, spayed, neutered, and sentenced to a life of warm beds, toys, food, and love. Down to 3 now. Cats are amazing little creatures, I love animals, but cats are special.

The house came with the best surprise gift. What a lovely cat

My new house came with 4 cats-lol….that was 3 yrs ago & we still take care of them. They’re semi-feral. Only me, hubby & my adult kids can pet them or get close. Animals choose us, it’s our job to love & protect them💛🐾🐾

What a purr-fect surprise! That feline addition just made the house a home instantly! 🐾❤

Mr Handsome is no coincidence. He sure wasn't surprised to see them. He knew they were coming and he was ready to get down to the business of loving! He's adorable, and SO appropriately named....I wish many happy years together for this lovely family. ❤❤❤

It is shameful, how many people leave animals behind. Had I bought that home, I would have found a way to repay the previous owners for their abuse of that sweet cat. What crappy people…and how fortunate that the new owners of the house were much better humans. 1:05 what a lovely woman she is, for not assuming the previous home owners did not simply abandon him. They did.

Funny that you automatically assume the previous owners abandoned him. The house is out in the country. And looks like a farm. People drop unwanted pets, especially cats, off at farms thinking the farms will take them in. How do I know? I live in the county, and have seen friendly cats like this show up at farms out of the blue all the time.

Feral cats don't just walk up to people and adopt them. That cat was already socialized to humans. So, if it wasn't abandoned by the previous owners, then it was likely dumped (unfortunately). These two are great humans for taking the kitty in!

Rule #1 of cats. You don’t adopt the cat, the cat adopts you. It chooses you.

But then it’s a slippy slope from there, because next I’ll want peacocks 🦚🦚, alpacas 🦙🦙, goats 🐐🐐 & so on 🤦‍♂️. I’ll then need too join AA (Animals Anonymous), because I’m addicted to rescuing animals, lol. 😆

Cats are such beautiful, loyal pets. A lot of people (cat haters) think that cats are users and will just run away and accept anyone who feeds them, but if you truly love and care for your cat, they will bond with you and love you just as a dog would.

Most barn cats aren’t that friendly. They are mousers and most are semi-feral or feral. That was a very socialized cat and likely a dumped cat. Early in the comments, the owners state it was not the previous owners cat. People assume that a property with a barn can always use another cat and that mice and milk are readily available. Most farmers I know have cats dumped near their property all the time.

Our home, which we moved into earlier this year, came with a new kitty. Took a few months for us to realize he wasn't a neighbor's cat. He's still outdoors, but he has a heated home now, gets two squares a day, love, and the occasional vet visit to make sure he's healthy.

Farm cats 🐈 aren’t pets. That was definitely a big red barn it was next to at the beginning of the video. In my state cats have free roam rights. My neighbor hates it but I say don’t move where minimum is 10 acre lots and literal farm fields if you don’t expect a strange cat or two. I brought 1 of the 10 cats on my property that I paid to get fixed. And they on occasion have friends over too. Aka an occasional strange cat 🐈 shows up and demands I pet him.

How great that you both decided to just take him in without any hesitation. It shows that you both are very kind and generous souls! Do be careful if he is outside a lot with the flea collar… it’s rare but they can get them snagged on things when jumping or climbing…like on the top of a fence or tree limb and can turn into a noose! Not trying to scare you…I’ve just seen it happen…sadly. Just keep an eye on him and I’m sure he will give as much love and affection as you’ve given him. You two are proof that Angels Walk The Earth
