County Kerry Bar Sings ''Mr. Brightside" to Remember Lost Friend Ger Foley

Фильм және анимация

The staff and customers at a County Kerry bar brought the house down in a emotional performance of The Killers’ "Mr. Brightside" to mark the passing of a friend. Brian O’Sullivan climbed the bar at Falvey’s Bar, Killorglin, on Thursday to lead the tribute to Ger Foley, who had died earlier in the week.
This video captures the incredible moment the whole bar erupts into song.

This is what funerals should be. They shouldn’t be sad, they should be a celebration in memory of the deceased.

Coming from Germany, it amazes me how a bunch of middle-aged mates can sing along the lyrics of a pop song that was written for the generation of their children, while literally turning into this generation towards the end when they shed themselves of any notion of age and simply celebrate the raw beauty of life. You Irish are lucky.

Wtf am I doing with my life?! Rest in Peace to Ger Foley ...whoever you were, it is clear that you had great friends who care a lot about you. ❤ It would've been an honor to meet you. Perhaps some day in the afterlife. ❤

Here i see a group of friends, most mid age and more, celebrating a dead lad while most of the people i know dont even celebrate life, sometimes myself included. What a fucking lesson. There's so many distractions within regular houses/apartments in early 21st century that discourage people from going out such as cable tv, Netflix, the web on the smartphone, etc. Also relatively expensive taxis in many places don't help since lockdowns online off license has become more common which drop alcohol at your door via courier. World now can be very atomizing but hopefully once Covid is over more people will appreciate proper social life.

Another brother came with me, we had a session, we laughed, cried & bawled our eyes out, we celebrated everything our brother meant to us. We met his workmates & dear god they loved the Irish coz of my brother. At his funeral in our parish church, his wife had them play 'dont stop me now' In tune with his life, family & love.
