This was my favorite meal growing up with mashed potatoes and green beans. Every birthday my mom would make me this meal with a chocolate frosting & yellow cake 🤗 so yummy. Now I've got my hubby and children hooked!

I made this recipe but added sliced green bell peppers (and sauteed with the onions)........my baby was so happy! I've never seen a grown man lick his plate so much!

I live in southeast Texas! Baby I make this often my husband loves it! I love your cooking. ❤️💁🏽 started watching you when I was 20 now I'm 24 and can whip it up real good! I had to just try stuff and make it mines. Never thought I'd love cooking.

omg! when i saw this thumbnail I had to click on it to see if it was what i thought it was!!!! This was and still is my fave meal! Monique I KNOW if I am looking for a tried and true recipe you are the one that always comes through. This onion gravy was just the ticket with a small can of mushrooms added in. I usually shortcut it and just do my hamburger steaks under the broiler and packet gravy but my mouth wasn't fixed for none of that so I hopped onto your blog and low and behold here was hamburger steak perfection. This will be on repeat in our house now at LEAST once a month!

oh and you got me with the rice, had to have rice AND potatoes for me and my family. They wanted potatoes and I wanted rice LOL I wish I'd done peas but did some steamed veggies broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, I was good and didn't make any bread but Lord it sure was a temptation LOL
