According to recent polls, the leading candidates for the next Tory PM (once Sunak succumbs to the inevitable sleaze/bullying/shagging scandal-i give him til Christmas, because I'm a generous sort of chap) are an interplanetary visitor with a bin for a face, and Larry the Cat. Binface - the jester in the court, the Joker in the pack, the novelty candidate to end them all .... but even in the midst of craziness there is serious good sense to be found, and Binface here proves it by voicing exactly what is wrong with our politicians these days: they crave power but do not understand how to use it.

I'm not sure but it could be like the USA where past presidents are kept up to date with matters of national security.

A very important point made by Count Binface there one that sums up British politics. The PM walked into the highest elected office in the country with fewer votes than a joke candidate (though to be fair, the joke candidate is a more likeable, sensible and appealing candidate with a better understanding of the problems in the country than any actual current politician). And yet we still consider ourself a democracy. Perhaps if a party forms part of our Government then a change in their leadership should trigger an automatic general election. Choosing the PM or deputy PM should be a democratic process, not the benefits of a political subscription. Our last 4 PMs (May, Johnson, Truss and now Sunak) took office because of a minority of the public paid to do so.

Count Binface has unironically become the best candidate

Im sure that Count Binface, like all of us, is a regular citizen outside of his political persona. He understands our lives, he knows what we want. He wants to deliver what’s best for the nation, not the party. And I can respect that about him.

If he claimed he wanted to build a satellite cannon the people would probably support it because at least they know he'll follow through with his promise.

Finally a space overlord we can believe in.

@@Peter_Turbo4 flawed democracy, the current first past the post voting system is the cause of all of this, a different voting method similar to those used in Europe like single transferable vote or ranked choice voting would be far more representative and would be far better for the British people. Alas the people are stupid and so voted against it in a referendum a few years back.

As a person who used to live next door to Alan "Howling Laud" Hope it's good to see satire MP's still up and about.

I voted for this guy for mayor of London. Shame he didn’t win.

As a Londoner he has my mandate

Our previous PM here in Australia, Mr Scott "Scomo" Morrison, had that sort of attitude the Count described Truss and Sunak of having. Like one of our best internet comedian/Warhammer 40k enthusiasts Jordan Shanks said, it was like the ultimate school captain badge; he just wanted it to show off and was happy for other people (or multibillion dollar corporations) to run the country for him.

Why cant my countries politics be this light hearted and fun. Like I know there is serious stuff going on over there too, but in comparison, man I wish this was the current state of politics here, at least I would have to worry about a possible civil war coming
