You just called it!! That's one of my routines as well my friend😊
Glad to be aboard. I grew up in the central North Carolina woods. Love box turtles seventy five plus years and counting. Found a snapper once on Christmas Day. Snakes, lizards, all creatures great and small.

A Snapper on Christmas??? I live in Virginia and we have tons of Snapping turtles here but by Late October they are buried in the mud and we don't see them again until about April. Also love the box turtles and stop on the highways to protect all species of turtles.

The Christmas Day snapper was in the bottom of a clear two foot deep pool in kind of a non flowing spring area. It was cold and not much movement but a little.
The underwater shot of that Snapper was incredible!! Didn't realize how cooler they looked submerged!!
Great to see the turtles and tadpoles! I used to love creek walking until I got “old” and I can’t stand the bugs. Now I can see all kinds of things because of you….so thank you! Keep up the great work Noah! Never a dull moment watching your videos!!! 😄💙🐬🐊🐍🫶🏼
Alligator Snappers truly are Georgia's water dragons.
Great cottonmouth mouth close up. Brilliant and well done! Thanks.
Great vid! Especially as you well know how gnarly that area is to herp during the summer, basically can only creek walk haha
I'm surprised by the lack of mosquitoes and other bugs around your light. Great photography btw!
"Turbo rare mega lifers" Rupert's reptiles would be proud
common stuff or not, those alligator snappers are simply incredible animals.
You should do a UV light trap for insects one night, just hang up a white sheet and set up a tube style black light to shine on it when you’re night Herping
Nice turtles, barking tree frogs and cottonmouths. Droughts are quite good for aquatic and semi aquatic animals, as they don’t have any other choice than congregating shallow and easy to reach water.
After living in Atlanta 50 yrs. Shocking to find clean water. Damn those water snakes are biters! Better you than me! Love the Cooters🌺 Look at those nails! Wow!
I love all of your videos!
Think i would be a skinny dude if we could find that much cool stuff here in Norway. Here we have 3 snakes and 3 lizards. I have loved turtles and snakes since i was a kid.
I caught an alligator snapper when I wa 14 m cleaning out a drainage ditch. he tried to bite and then clamped down on the cattle wire and shocked the daylights out of me
Really liked this one
“Heinous congregation of toads..” 😂🤣😂🤣 I have to use that. Great video, Noah!!
I just moved to southern Georgia!! I can’t wait to see all the cool animals
I dunno man... I really like the creek walks... ya never know what you are going to see. So many turtle faces today and I'm here for it!
Nice. Thanks.
The cooters are sporting some Cardi B nails.
Always loved the alligator snappers
That’s a smoking Midland. Our creeks are going down hill here in Ohio, sediment is taking a toll. Good stuff!💪🏻🐍🐢
Time to go back to Texas ! Thats a blast! Lets Go !!!!
I went creek walking with a friend yesterday amd we found a large common snapper :D
Here in north Alabama were starting to see drought conditions. As of today we are under a extreme heat advisory.
A question about the loggerhead musk turtles. You use the term “megacephalic,” obviously referring to their large heads. Is large-headed-ness only present in some of these loggerhead musks? Is it a sexual dimorphic characteristic? Are there some loggerhead musk turtles that are not megacephalic? I don’t think that term is part of the (common) name of the turtle, so you must be using at as either a standard descriptor or else a term to identify a variation from the common morphology of the species. Just curious.

Typically, yes, it is females that develop the particularly large head. All Loggerheads are big-headed to an extent, but the megacephalic head is developed in populations that feed predominantly on mussels and clams.

@@NKFherping Thank you very much!
My pet five lined skinks finally started laying their eggs. I was actually kinda worried that they were egg bound for awhile because they literally looked like they were gonna pop.
Nice
I guess Cottonmouths like to mimic Rattlesnakes too.
turtles are my favorite even frogs
Man if you’re ever in or around Bibb County I’d love to show you some spots or join you on an outing.
Tree 🐸 is like who you calling ugly come at me bro
That was a lot of copperheads
The water looks very clear and clean. We just had a heat wave last week. It drove me nuts seeing you wear shoes in the wayer. I hate wet shoes lol

I hate blisters even more than wet shoes, and the only way I’ve found to avoid them is wearing sneakers with socks while creek walking.

Bold statement but a statement I will not contest.
Where are you at in Georgia? I’m in Jackson County. Just encountered my first copperhead yesterday. I might have an issue with them outback

Dude, what is up with the fingernails on the cooters? Is there some turtle purpose for such long fingernails? 🐢

I work at a golf course in Florida and had a cottonmouth bite the bottom of my sneaker. Those things are nasty and very aggressive. Luckily, I wasn't hurt but it scared the crap out of me.
Gonna need your coordinates to call in the orbital strike…You have 15 minutes to reach minimum safe distance! 😂
