The character played by Rusty Keller in The Waltons and James at 16 is very likely the redhead in the M. C. Congregation as the resemblance (facial features and build) between the two is stunning. Unfortunately, I haven't found out anything else about Rusty since those appearances, and it's been over 40 years. Such a talented kid, it's surprising (and a shame) he didn't continue performing and making a name for himself. Lastly w/r/t the rumor of his getting killed at McDonalds 10 years after the M. C. Congregation performances, that would have occurred in the early to mid 1980s, which is well past The Waltons and James at 16 episodes. Maybe, with luck, we'll find out more about what happened with this guy.

The four children are Patti Cahoon, she's the blonde girl, and she has many acting credits. Teresa Jaw, has a couple of acting credits, in Andy Griffith or Mayberry RFD. Rusty Keller is the red-headed boy. He was on the Waltons and James at 16. Harry Bouton Blackstone, 3, is the dark-haired boy. Sadly, he died at work in an accident as a part-time auto mechanic. He was also a magician like his famous father and Grandfather. He also was the lead singer for his band, White Lightening. And it looks like he had a non-speaking role in the same episode of James at 16 with Rusty Keller but in different scenes. He was sitting in a round table. I can't give information on everyone else. There are too many of them.

This video confuses me. None of them are singing. There are no microphones, there are no cables. Why is Mike Curb sitting behind that wall of pipes playing with himself?

For most TV shows they prerecord the music to eliminate external noises and add more instruments. They're all lip-syncing, or singing live only to the audience. The mikes would be on booms overhead. If it looks off, that's just bad editing.
