They actually just defeated a team with a winning record. aTm, at 7-6 this season, defeated ZERO teams with winning records (Auburn was at 6-6). Nice job, Tigers!

Same here. Dawg fan. Mizzou had a defense build around fundamentals, like few mistakes and great form tackling. They gave us a great game earlier this year... I don't think the buckeyes expected them to play that stingy.

An impressive game by them for sure. Missouri's defender Carnell at 3:27 was DANGEROUSLY close to getting called for targeting though. What saved him is that he turned JUST enough at the last second to hit the Ohio State WR with his shoulder instead of the crown of his helmet. He got lucky on that one.

Not a national championship win. But for this year, it'll be one I never forget. Picked to finish 6th in the SEC East. No one gave them a chance and what do they do, they show up week after week with a chip on their shoulder, hard hats, and lunch pails. Mizzou proved this year they belong. From the 61 yard FG to beat K-State, 4th and 17 to seal a win over Florida, Luke Bauers fake TD pass vs Kentucky, the complete decimation of both Tennessee and Arkansas. Heck even becoming Tennessee State Champs by being 4-0 against all Div1 teams from the state of Tennessee. Thank you to all the seniors that came back that didn't have to. KAD, D. Rob, Tyron Hopper, Realous George, Jayden Jernigan, Javon Foster, JC Carlies, Joseph Charleston, Nate Peat, Chad Bailey, DelGado and Cody Schrader to name a few. Schrader not only deserves his name on the wall of greats at Mizzou, but I'd say he earned a statue as well. From walk on to one of the best backs in Mizzou history. See yall next year, M-I-Z. Edit: Yall will not change how I feel about this game. Yall can comment as much as you want, I'm not responding to a bunch of internet trolls🤷‍♂️

We as a fan base need to back up our players and coaches. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure Meyer is the only coach to not have lost against Michigan. Yes he won a title but he also lost a title game. This is Days 3rd year. He’s still fresh. I say let him get the hang of it. He will get it figured out. Not to many coaches has won every single game they have played and some that are great right now started off with losing seasons. Day has lost 4 games now. How many other college teams can say that. If the fan base would stand behind these guys then that might just make a huge difference. It’s hard to win games when your people do nothing but talk about getting you fired. lol. That’s gotta be stressful.

agreed, ohio state going 11-1 and losing this bowl game is not a horrible end of the season to a program, only to such a program with high standards like ohio state. for a player to even consider sitting out a bowl game they worked all season with their team get to just makes no sense to me. playing in the cotton bowl is an huge accomplishment it’s not some small bowl game i hate the rep these non playoff bowl games get like they don’t mean anything

Cook is tough. Bad game overall but made the big plays when it mattered. He'll learn a lot from this game. Top 5 QB next season watch.

If the coaches know what is good for him, they’ll shift to more under center snaps with play action and roll outs. Cook will thrive in that system and so will the next running back. Shotgun works better in a hurry up

OSU didn't have their best players on offense. This wasn't the same team that played through the course of the season.

@@medmusclethat’s what happens when the coach runs off the starting quarterback. OSU still had 10 five star players and 63 four star players vs. Mizzou’s 2 two stars and 20 four stars available for the game. Mizzou’s defensive line manhandled OSU’s offensive line that was only missing one player. BTW Mizzou was playing without three defensive starters to injury. Excuses are for losers.

I think players opting out and going to the transfer portal make these games horrible . Coming from a neutral fan that knows this game could have been better.

am so happy that Missouri, won the game that no one thought they would & it broke the hearts of the so called experts that their Buckeyes lost. they say it was because Ohio State's best were not on the field but that was their fault not Missouri's. Congratulations to the Tigers for playing a tough team & beating them on their own terms. Wait till next season for the Missouri might win it all. Go Missouri.

Good for them but it's clear as day that the Cotton Bowl means more to Missouri, Ohio State is one of those schools that doesn't care about consolation bowls. I honestly don't care about these bowl games either because teams ranked that high deserve better than to just play in some corporate mascot of a game.

It was not the Buckeyes' fault as a team ... it was partly the fault of their best player, Harrison, and their quarterback not playing for their team. I am a Buckeye fan and frankly I expected what happened ... for Ohio State's defense to be good but its offense to be .... not good. Sadly, my prediction came through but it was turned out worse than I thought against a very good Missouri team. Hats off to the Tigers and hats off to the Buckeyes who remained on the team.

@@dewaynethomas5925 It's not crazy, Ohio State's top players always end up opting out of bowl games. If there isn't potential for a national title you can pretty much guarantee some opt outs.

As a Blues and Cardinals fan, at least they beat top notch teams. Mizzou beat a MAC conference offense lol. And I hate Ohio State... so I don't speak for Buckeye fans. But this was an awful game.

This has to be one of the Most perfectly executed games I've ever watched-both sides. Few turnovers, few stupid penalties (Refs and Players) and the sportsmanship was model level

As an OU fan I have no love for Missouri, but playing a clean turnover free game and finding another gear to pull out the win in the fourth quarter was impressive. You have to respect that.

I've been a Missouri fan all of my life and this is probably the grittiest team that I have ever witnessed. Obviously the injury at QB had a big impact on OSU but it is still a great win over one of the greatest programs in college football. The defense looked amazing and while the offense was super frustrating to watch throughout much of the game, they figured out how to get it done in the end.

I was WAITING for this version of Mizzou to show up! I'm so mad I fell asleep right before the 4th quarter started lol.

Great win for the Tigers. One of the best bowl wins I can remember seeing going back to the mid 90's.

IM a Mizzou graduate. The first college game I ever saw in my life was Mizzou vs Ohio State in the late 90s. It was amazing to see Missouri step up and take the W over my other favorite program. My dad grew up in Ohio and we were also Ohio State fans growing up.

Mizzou's defensive game plan seemed to be pretty much blitz on every single play. and it worked too. Keinholz has the tools to be a good QB but being a 3rd stringer and getting you're first game reps against a good defense probably wont work out, and it didnt.

Kylce McCord and Marvin Harrison Jr. did not play; as result of this, 9 starters did not play! Marvin Harrison Jr. chose to focus on the draft, McCord is going to Syracuse, and once this happened, 7 other starters did not play. Ohio State was without their starting QB, and Marvin Harrison Jr. who is going to be a first round pick in the year's upcoming draft. This is a good win for Missouri, but if Ohio State does not have 9 starters sit out they would have won this game!

Classic defensive battle! People say its boring but its just as excited because any play can change the entire game with how stout the defenses were playing. I honestly miss games like this. Both teams played excellent defense. They both had pretty good offense but the defense was just on another level

@@ironbran12Both teams were missing two starters, two defenders for Mizzou and two offensive players for OSU. On top of that, OSU’s 2nd string QB is effectively their starter since their starter for this year is transferring to Syracuse. Also OSU’s 3rd string QB played better than the 2nd String QB in this game despite never playing college football before.

I'm very impressed with them this year headed in right direction. It's the SEC. Great conference. My late husband was from Rich Hill MO so watching them this season so great. U.S. fans didn’t care about this game. Wait I can’t speak for everyone but let me say there are a lot of us that didn’t expect our team to do anything so to watch this and find out we didn’t get blown out is a win. Ha ha ha. Although I don’t care for Day this won’t be near enough to get him fired.

Thank god after so many years of suffering in the sec and not going to nor winning bowl games in years or even win games consistently. @@poisonousnut it’s a little bit of both because every since we’ve moved to the SEC it’s been a rough years for us because we are in the toughest conference in college football and the fact that for the first time in a long time we finally have a good team/players that are willing to work hard and Play hard for this team to win against team that has always been good like Ohio state it’s huge for the program and Mizzou as a whole

I was at this game, and I will tell you, it was LOUD in that stadium. The Missou fans completely outclassed the Ohio State fans, and same thing went for the action on the field
