I’ve been a stylist for 17 years and have always recommended Kirkland Hydrate for clients who just won’t/can’t spend on salon products. I know who uses it because I know the smell and it delivery beautiful, healthy and happy hair always. By far the best store bought option.

Yay, great review. I use kirkland brand now since im broke ,lost my job due to covid last year. Kirkland does its job if you are on a budget.If you can afford pureology ,great. Thats just my opinion.

I actually love the Kirkland better. The peppermint smell in the Pureology shampoo drove me crazy. It was really expensive too. The Kirkland makes my hair beautiful. And what a savings! You can pretty much depend on anything that is Kirkland and I wouldn't be surprised if the Kirkland shampoo and conditioner were made by the same place as Pureology. Or if not there, somewhere else that makes name brand product.

Pureology is my favorite hair line. I use the nano works gold shampoo and conditioner and I only buy the liter bottles and it is well worth it. One liter bottle of pureology shampoo last me at least a year to a year and a half because it’s concentrated. So it’s well worth the money when you think of how long it last and the ingredients are good. The smell and color of the nano works gold line is amazing. It makes my hair soft and the shine is amazing. My hair has so much body.

Subscribed. Just found your videos about 30 minutes ago and have clicked through a few. I’ve been dying to find a KZreadr that breaks down ingredients, rather than just saying the typical “soo it’s a dewy finish”, “this oxidizes a lot”, or “wow, this smells good!” (🤦🏼‍♀️ cause fragrance is GREAT for your skin)... then I found a foundation video. Now this one. I’m just really impressed. You’re the real deal. I have no doubt you’ll grow your subscribers by a landslide.

Yay! finally now we know the truth. I actually tried Kirkland before, then I switched over to pureology. I personally prefer pureology.

OMG nooo! Costco has the Best return policy!!! You can even return food that you ate part of and don't like. I'm never scared to try stuff there because I know no matter what I can return. Next time definitely take it back. Your purchases are saved and you don't even need your receipts!!!

I use them in the winter as my conditioner. Just nothing makes a difference with my hair. Still using all 3 to this day! Thanks for asking

I was using Pantene and my hair had dandruff because of how dry the shampoo was leaving me. I switched back to the Kirkland hydrating shampoo and conditioner and there is no more dandruff. My hair smells good. I love it!

I like the costco conditioner better than the shampoo but I've been using it awhile with no problems. The shampoo is a good base shampoo but I rotate my shampoos to avoid oily scalps.

I used to love and use the Costco version. Then all of a sudden it started making my scalp itchy. Also, my scalp got oily faster. Recently I purchased the Purology Hydrate travel set and I’d say they’re nothing alike and I much prefer the Purology.

I never had any good luck with dupes. Especially cheap foundation dupes for more luxury brands. Most foundation dupes don’t translate on my more mature skin. I’m in my 50s so with certain dupes I look for peer reviews. Anyway I never tried purology. I made a decision with the Ulta sale to try redken all soft set instead of the pureology hydrate set. All soft is good but next time I’ll give pureology ago. Thank you

I only use Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner as well as their leave in. When you spend really good money for your hair, you have to invest in the aftercare. One of the very best things about Pureology products is a very little goes a long way. I get my hair dyed every 6 weeks in reds and purples so if I were to use any old department store crap shampoo and conditioner, it would strip it in a week. I completely stand by Pureology products 150%!

I can’t believe anyone likes pureology anymore. there’s nothing pure about it left. I used it when it was still owned by the original ceo, the formula was truly quality ingredients and it was ultra concentrated. It had a cult following it was so good. A bottle of shampoo lasted 5 months on my waist length hair.... and it stayed clean and tangle free for half a week... ever since L’Oréal bought them up and cheapened the formula it’s crap now. And somehow people still talk about it like it’s the best thing... it used to be like 10+ years ago it is definitely not the same anymore it’s generic salon crap now.

I have spent so much money trying to find something cheaper than Pureology but have to keep going back because it is the only thing that works with my hair. But with that said, for the costco price I might just have to give it a shot for fun.

I’m obsessed with the pureology hydrate! Especially the peppermint scent in the conditioner. Shampoo twice! Especially if you are going several days between washes. It will sud up WAY more when you wash the second time. Leaving your hair really really clean!

i have both shampoos and conditioners. The pureology when i used it it made me shed wayyyyy more than the costco one. I dont know why! I only used the pureology twice and both time my hair shed too much! i guess its just not for me! Im going to stick to the costco one till i find a shampoo that works for me.

I totally disagree! But totally appreciate this video! I love Costco as well, so no hate, but I’ve used this, and Pureology is hands down better. I have yet to find a shampoo that tops it. I scored the liter set of Pureology on an amazing sale (more than 60% off) 3 and 1/2 years ago and am just finally running out. It's a bit too pricey for me to replace so am contemplating the Costco brand. I would definitely prefer Pureology. And now I'm intrigued by what you use on your hair if you are washing once a week. I typically wash twice a week, but once a week -while keeping it looking nice-would be even better. And, yes, if Costco changes the formulation, that would be an interesting comparison video.

When you showed the hair comparison, the second washing (at 14:20) definitely looks silkier and healthier than the first one (at 14:18) did.

I bought it the Costco's brand it has a very strong smell that I cannot even sleep for the strong smell

For your Canadian viewers Kirkland Shampoo sold in Costco in Canada is supposedly a dupe for Marc Anthony Shampoo. It is not the same at the USA Costco Kirkland shampoo. Not sure if it’s good I have not yet tried it

Last night I used the Pureology Hydrate Sheer Shampoo after my Olaplex #3. Been thinking about trying that in place of Biolage Color Last. I couldn't use the Conditioner as it was my secong wash for me to use K-18, thank goodness for payments cause it's pricey. I don't care for the smell of the Shampoo. The lingering smell also and I'm not sure if the Conditioner smell makes it better after use. I alternate between Redken All Soft and Biolage Color Last but will wait on the Pureology Hydrate Sheer to be able to use both but and see about the smell. My next try was going to be Amika Kure but I'm trying not to over spend all over as I'm working on my skincare too. I also got diagnosed with a mild case of Seborrheic Dermatitis yesterday as ever since I got back from my parent's in Florida at the end of September my scalp has been dry and flaky. It's been better since then but I thought it initially was just dry scalp from our weather. The prescribed Shampoo I hated and now there's some foam he has prescribed me. 😔

After your recommendation on pureology strength cure shampoo and conditioner. I'm hooked. My hair along with olaplex #3 is amazing.

Many ( not all) of Kirkland products are made in the same factory, so same product with different label. Additionally, Costco goes above and beyond to ensure the Kirkland brand is the same or better than the name brand. They’ll even take it back if you don’t like it. I love Costco and buy all their Kirkland products.

Many factories make different products but not same formulations and product . It’s just a factory that is hired to make ingredient deck and package . Those are still created by independent company’s then they hire a middle man company . Most do not own their own factories . Even color . It’s just a dif job skill set they do not create products they just do manufacturing . They are not the brains behind the creation of things or chemists

As a hairstylist I don't recommend buying "professional" products at TJ and Marshalls. These products are fakes and product diversion. A lot of the time these products have a lot bad harmful things in them. \

Hi Abbey, shampoos are more expensive to manufacture than conditioners re the price of the Kirkland products fyi. Ingredients like hydrolysed proteins are more expensive than some of the extracts in the Kirkland as well. I haven't used either formulation, as I have very thick/dry/curly/long hair, which isn't the hair type for either of these. I need super moisturising products and use a deep conditioner every wash, as that is what my hair needs. Sulphate free gentle shampoos are my preference, although I do use a clarifying shampoo every few washes and leave on a deep conditioner for an hour. As long as the shampoo is gentle then you could save a few dollars/pounds, as it's on the hair for such a short period of time. Buying a conditioner with better ingredients can be a good investment, as it is the treatment portion of the routine (similar to a serum in skincare). Overall I think it depends on budget, how many times a week you'll use it and the amount used per wash. A really expensive hair brand that only lasts a month, is not sustainable for most of us re cost. It also depends on how your hair behaves and if it needs the extra benefits included in the more expensive formulation to look good. I'll be curious to read the comments of others who have used both, especially if they include their hair type/condition. Best wishes.

@@AbbeyYung Marketing at work and also consumer perception lol. I watched a documentary about how shampoo is made and that was one of the nuggets of info that stuck in my mind, as I was also surprised.

I really like the Kirkland shampoo, but I’m not crazy about the conditioner. The Pureology conditioner is way better. I buy a liter when it goes on sale for Black Friday and my daughter and I both use it and it lasts for a year so it’s really not as expensive as you think. You only need a tiny amount.

What do you think about sillicones in shampoos? I dont use conditioner on my scalp....but shampoo is for my scalp, but i dont like the idea of sillicones in the Pureology strength shampoo staying on my scalp....And does the sillicones in the strength line block the good ingredients in my leave-in en let it stay on top of the sillicone film? I want to try that strength line but i am not sure....amodimethicone is not water soluble as well. Need your advice. 😬

I have just started using pureology and it's the best conditioner and shampoo I have used. I have used salon and drugstore and they just don't measure up. My hair is soft and shiny and sleek. Pureology is expensive which is my on complaint but also a little goes a long way.

I'm definitely stocking up! I love this Kirkland shampoo and conditioner! I have long healthy hair,no damage it makes my hair so soft and healthy and smells good,I'm sad to see it go,its Awesome

Don’t look the same, not the same thickness, not the same fragrance, and most importantly not the same performance. The only thing similar seems to be the color of the shampoo bottle.
