As I have stated repeatedly in the video, nobody can tell you with certainty what the exact requirements are at any given time for entering either Panama or Costa Rica. I make a point of ONLY giving you the facts of my latest border trip. I do not speculate about what the official requirements are and I ask anyone commenting here to do the same. If you have had a recent experience at the Costa Rica / Panama border, please share in the comments, but only in the context of what you experienced. If you just have second hand knowledge aka “ i read that…” or “I was told that” or “ It is my understanding that….” "It used to be that..." Please save that for Facebook. I get a lot of feedback from viewers that appreciate the border run videos and any information here will only deal with actual facts.

Nice job Ed! Clear, concise, & to the point. Ive always thought the theory of “better to have it & not need it, than need it and not have it.” Ive never had trouble at the border. You always smile & always answer when they ask a question & shut up the rest of the time. The only difference between an ordeal & an adventure is the attitude! Again, the best border list/video yet.

You, as much as anyone knows this border crossing is hit and miss, so full of day to day changes and requirements, you have to believe even the border officials make it up as they seem fit. Good advice. Be prepared, have all your documents ready, don’t assume anything you read online, and go with the flow. Like anything here or anywhere…”It is what it is” Don’t show your frustrations, it’s only a border crossing and you don’t get to set the rules.

So did I get this wright? You have to have a plane ticket every time you do the border run that prooves you are leaving Costa Rica? Even if you do not use it? You then cancel this back in Costa Rica?

  • @CostaRicaStory

Yes that is correct, I always have that Plane Ticket and I always make sure to have a refundable ticket, but it has to be a valid viable ticket because they sometimes check on the computer.
