Costa Rica Goes 100% Renewable

Can Costa Rica completely eliminate fossil fuels? New President Carlos Alvarado Quesada thinks so, and he has a plan to do it by 2021. The country is already on track to achieve this goal, as renewables already supply nearly all of Costa Rica’s electricity. While cars and trucks are still gas powered, this might change under President Quesada’s leadership. He is determined to take on climate change during his tenure as president.
