Hi Bronwyn, I am in New Zealand and I enjoy watching and listening to your videos. I'm not even sure how I happened upon you, but I like hearing about living in Ireland, my husband had an Irish Mother and we have been over twice, the last time was in 2015. I enjoy seeing the Irish countryside and the beautiful historical buildings. So thank you, your videos are peaceful which I enjoy. Love your Christmas tree :) Groceries are very expensive in NZ as well, lots of people are struggling, we also have a shortage of housing, so share some similar problems. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi! We are Irish but moved to Australia for 7 years and are now back in Ireland. We loved Australia but also love Ireland and I really like your perspective on it. I had to comment to ask you to reconsider the income protection. I am of the opinion that it is a waste of money. I work in finance and am very careful about what we spend our money on. Absolutely agree to life insurance and health insurance if you can afford it but health insurance is not an absolute necessity in Ireland it's a luxury. Back to income protection, we saved up a 6 month emergency fund to cover our expenses if anything happened. The disability cover here is also pretty okay so that would offset some of your expenses if your income stopped. I would stop the income protection and start saving that money. You would be surprised how quickly you will get a good emergency fund and then you can keep saving it for deposit for house or kids college etc. Just my two cent but I think insurance companies always push the income protection and yes it covers if you get sick but you guys are young and healthy and in my opinion you are better off saving that money, I am assuming income protection is a big chunk of the €200. Happy new year love the videos

I really enjoyed listening again to how the cost of living has influenced your lifestyle. It really makes one think twice about how we spend our pennies. Even here, back in South Africa, the cost of living has escalated. Fortunately living here in Richmond on the farm, we are able to get our vegetables fresh after harvest, so that helps a little. May you and your beautiful family have an awesome Christmas, and a Blessed New Year. See you in 6 months 🥰

Yippee ,you back had missed you guys....wow Ebelynn has grown from last time. Those short dark winter days are something else , your body just misses the daily dose of happy notes from the sun...in such cases for one need to be consistent taking supplements ,light therapy seems to be the most effective , make you environment sunnier and brighter. Open blinds, trim tree branches that block sunlight or add skylights to your home. Sit closer to bright windows while at home or in the office.Normalize sleep patterns Schedule reliable times to wake up and go to bed each day. Especially for fall-winter-onset , reduce or eliminate napping and oversleeping....and exercise regularly too.

Where will your son be studying? Dublin? Very exciting for him. I know that student accommodation, if staying off campus, can be quite pricey. Did a quick google search and found this webpage dublin.ie/study/student-life/ might have a few interesting pointers. I will have to educate myself on all these things in the coming years as Josh will be finishing school in 3 years!!

Hi Bronwyn! I am watching from Canada. I am a third generation Canadian. My Gran came here from Northampton England in 1900. Canada is very expensive right now. A one bedroom apartment in my small city in Ontario will cost between 1700.00 to over 3000.00 a month to rent. Our doctor visits and hospital visits are free but the state of the healthcare system here is dire. You can easily wait all day to see a doctor in the emergency room. People are dying while waiting to be seen. It can take a month to see your family doctor. The weather is very very cold in the winter. Electricity is very expensive as well. I love my country with all my heart but I would not recommend anyone trying to emigrate to Canada right now. Have a happy holiday season and a safe, prosperous and happy new year.

Yes exactly we here in Ireland are pretty much the same it's to expensive to live here now and our services are literally crumbling under the weight of overcrowding our rental has jumped considerable it can be from 1,000 to 1600 and more depending upon where you go and with very little accommodation now it's worse our hospital waiting lists are longer than ever before same with getting a doctor or dentist appointment your waiting weeks if not months to be seen our food petrol and diesel have all risen dramatically as have electricity and gas bills way out of proportion basically children's books might be free but they certainly aren't for older children going to secondary or college there hundreds including uniforms are also expensive there's no way of even getting into school's or crèches as there is no places available not for at least a year or more Ireland I'm afraid isn't what it is cracked up to be if your coming here you'll need a great deal of money because believe me you'll need it
