I wish I was back there this summer.

This is where my yiayia was from. It isn't actually that touristy, I was there 4 weeks ago and has a tiny bit of tourism but was mostly locals. It is lovely and I'm so glad you went and enjoyed it! It has the warmest average temperature during winter than anywhere in Italy or Spain, or Europe, and has a lot going for it. I hopefully would love to buy a house there someday. Great video, well done!

If you rent this apartment for a month the most you pay 300 euros.Rent is cheap in GREECE.

Nice apartment with just what you need some where to eat sleep get a shower and store your stuff I must say I find it ridiculous that a US driving licence was not accepted iam sure that America has high safety standards when it comes getting your licence

I think it has something do do with insurance. If you get into an accident, the car rental insurance won't cover you. That is what the car rental guy told me. I remember renting a car in Rhodes Greece about 20 years ago and didn't have that problem. Maybe that is something new. Anyway, there should be reciprocal agreements between countries for driver's licenses.

To Go Is To Know This requirement has always been in place for citizens of non-EU countries wishing to drive in Greece. Down the years many rental companies turned a blind eye and accepted licenses from US, Australia etc. but this has all changed now. If you get pulled over by police & you don’t have an IDP, you run the risk of being fined anywhere up to €1500 including the rental company as well. You also run the risk of having the rental car impounded by the police and as you stated, if you are involved in any accidents, you are not covered by any insurance companies as you are driving illegally in Greece without an IDP. For the cost of getting an IDP, it certainly is a small price to pay for peace of mind knowing if anything happens, you won’t have any issues.
