Try to buy fresh products here in Greece. Feta and meat for example. Try to avoid the American way of life. Be Greek here 😊. Our fresh products are Top quality. Nothing nearly the quality of the American products. And a fact. Fage yogurt can be also found in US

Very appreciated! I found that AB had better prices, though my fav supermarket is Sklavenitis. The street markets are, of course, better for veggies and fruits as you have said in the past. Thank you for taking the time to show us the updates on prices. Have you done the same for hygiene products? I remember some years ago that I found cosmetics and pharmacy stuff expensive in comparison to Montreal, where I live, like creams, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. The prices have skyrocketed here too lately so now I try to buy on special and if I’m saving a few bucks, I buy 2 or 3 of the same item.

Love your videos too! We are also living in Athens but as retirees. It may be interesting for your subscribers who are thinking of retiring to Greece to consider the exchange rate on their pensions/investments etc. When we made our plans we were achieving .86c to 1 Euro, then the rate plummeted to .50c. This of course made a huge difference to our quality of life as you can imagine and when we add todays "world issues" affecting prices it is really something to consider when planning retiring in a foreign country. Greece is still more affordable than other countries in Europe, but, like everywhere else, the cost of living has increased. Looking forward to more videos from you. xx Oh, a tip:-)) try the supermarket Kriticos - we find them competitive.

The electricity here is not complicated but a rip-off. Going for the fixed rate is the smarter move but not even that can keep you in safe water. In the upcoming months things will get only trickier. The adjustment clause in the non fixed rate contracts, will be embedded in the cost of KWh and the electricity providers will have the right to alter the cost of KWh on a monthly basis in both contract types.

It really depends on where you live and where you work. I'm an athenian, I don't drive, I live in a suburb and work in another suburb. Driving to work would take me 30', but using public transport takes more than an hour. If you can use the metro, it's great, but areas that are served by buses are more unfortunate, as these are often late/packed/stuck in traffic. Also the night lines are very limited. The downside of living close to a metro station is that rent prices skyrocket around it. The downside of owning a car if you live in the center is that if your building doesn't have its own parking (most don't), you will be tortured trying to find a spot, or have to pay for private parking.

First of all a Happy 4th of July Tiffany yes it’s important to be a smart shopper. I like to ask you if in Greece they have the $10 policy that we you in Canada it means = Under the code, when the scanned price of an item without a price tag is higher than the displayed price, the customer is entitled to receive the item free of charge when it is worth less than $10, or receive a $10 reduction if the correct price is worth more than $10. If the store has it up in a big sign with the $10 law/rules .. many of my friends don’t know this but it can save you $10 or more.. Schweden is cheaper then Greece ? ! ? ! ? ! ? For God's sake ...!!!! Not the Schweden , that I know !!!! Maybe there is another Schweden !!!! Dear Julie: Dennmark, Schweden ..+.. rest Skandinavien are extremely expensive. The countries, where Bananas, Lemons or Kiwis are selling by PIECE or the RIDICULOUS 100gr and NOT by KILO are extremely expensive !!!!!! (In 2012 in Copenhavn I bought 1 (ONE) Banana for 7 (Yes SEVEN) DKK !!!!!!!) My explanation : as you are living your whole life in Schweden, you know the identity of every Super Market ``Chain`` and you know what to choose and where. Tiffany is a clever person with a big experience in GRE, ...buuuut...... she has some restrictions : 1) she has no car ----> 2) she buys in a small limited area AB is probably the most expensive SP, City AB much more . Koukaki is near the center, but there is No space for Big Stores with Big Offers . And don`t forget ........ there is also LIDL !!! 3) All she bought were Brand names !!! (except Toilette paper + chicken breast, but breast is the best part of chicken). I`m buing also special Katselis breads, Buuuuttt... ONLY with 30%-40% discount !!! I pay for such special breads 1,15-1,50, max 1,70 euro (``black``with 8 corns). 4) I never buy Lurpak, because is the most expensive butter. 5) 450 euros for 47 qm³ ??? Since spring 2010, when we realised the coming of the Crisis, 70%-90% of the things that we buy are Offers !!!! And the shops 70%-90% are selling Offers !!! 80-90% of the whole Commerce is about Offers / Offerte / Sconti / Aktionen / !!!! Only tourists or people, that they spend others people money and NOT THEIR OWN !!! are paying the ``normal`` prices !!!! Pointe : Greece is a VERY cheap country, if you know what + where + when to buy it . Epecially FRUITS + GARDENING + some FISH (Doraden 300-500gr 6-7eur/kg). As far as I know : Bulgarien is cleeeaaarly cheaper, Polen 20-25% cheaper, Tschechien 10-15%, Nord Ost Germany incl. Berlin cheap enough . PS : ask a native from Kreta. After 2 hours....., no after 2 days...., no .... I give you 1 week : you will remember me .

@@kyrioskunder Yep, it is true for the food comparisons in the video, and the organic food in my ICA/Coop supermarkets in my neighbourhood here in the middle of Sweden. Even with the recent 15% inflation of prices here. The same size regular yogurt in the video is much more expensive than my organic yogurt, for one example... I do not live in Stockholm, so that is one reason. Stockholm is very expensive. And I dont even want to talk about rent prices in Stockholm. But in this video about food costs, where I live in Sweden, those food items are MORE expensive in Greeeshh, than in my supemarket in Schweeden. Sad, but true.
