Any would-be competitor needs content creators, so it's up to the creators to make a platform competitive. If they truly have a problem with KZread then maybe start opening channels on other video sharing platforms and start posting "uncensored" versions of the same videos they upload to KZread. Yes it would take more work, but no one said breaking up monopolies would be easy.

Im glad Corey did this, as a 25 year old black man the older you get in life the more you begin to give up on fighting the system and saying it is what it is. A lot of my older relatives are this way so I get how Aba and Preach feel, but even though fighting may seem pointless eventually the doors will open and we need people there to walk through them when they do even if it isn’t in your lifetime

Companies actually have an “inclusivity score” to aim for in order to get financial backing from certain companies. The more LGBTQ, black, disabled and other groups you include in your company’s advertising the higher your score is. Problem is these companies will just fake being inclusive regardless if they are or not.

May be different in the US but I run studies similar in the UK and they show a less than 2% variation between white and black sounding names and even then the sample sizes are often tiny for these studies becuase it's actually surprisingly difficult to write enough valid looking CVs to get a significant number of responses back. I'm not saying there isn't discrimination, but it's likely only a very small handful of individuals scattered throughout companies that are the issue rather yhan a systemic problem.

When you think of “safe” Black creators on KZread, Cory comes to mind instantly for me. He doesn’t curse, and gears towards a younger audience while making his content palatable (I’ve been watching him since the 8th grade lol). Lame that KZread is giving him such a hard time, but what’s new?

Just my take: It's because Cory isn't the "Stereotypical Black Guy" on KZread. Notice how they won't age-restrict ignorant black content when it comes to violence or someone being exposed for something unethical/unmoral. Keep in mind that Cory also believes in God and doesn't use foul language on his channel, so it's not like his channel isn't family oriented. It sounds like an internal issue they don't want to address. Like they split their reviewers into teams, and let each team interpret guidelines their own way when reviewing. Instead of checking to make sure each team is interpreting and enforcing the guidelines the same way/lack of proper communication. And then there's the question of What team is in charge of reviewing what videos, and how diverse is it?

the reason why KZread is so vague about their polices is because they can easily pander to whatever narrative they have to to keep their advertisers by removing whatever video's they want without giving a particular reason. Remember KZread needs advertisers, so if the site if filled with opinions from people that don't run over well with advertisers or big brands then they would loose money. One persons opinion should not be treated differently from anothers as long as it doesn't come off hatefully.

Funny part is Markiplier isn't even white, he's Korean, but he's well recognized both by the company and by the community, he's literally done entire productions with KZread while trying to advocate for creators, man literally bet his entire career doing a "try not to get age restricted" video as an experiment to see if or how biased the system/company really is by playing an "adult only" game on KZread. The video is still there and so is he, and neither of them are age restricted and the video still has 6.3 million views. It actually got MORE traction than normal. And honestly, I think you're both right, it may partly be about race, but if so it's because of what that person represents, you can be or look however you are or want, but what matters to them is if it's "marketable", sometimes KZread is even willing to let more "risque" content slide, because it's PROFITABLE, there's loads of sex scenes on KZread and even an entire section about reviewing "adult" toys and nude yoga videos and videos about nudism, just like there's also hyper violent movie, show and game clips on KZread and none of them will be age restricted, because as long as there isn't some sort of uproar over it, KZread quite frankly doesn't give a fuck, meanwhile more visible and more careful creators get strikes for "provocative outfits" or lewd language, or playing a game which everyone likes but there's a small vocal minority that want the game banned or think it's extreme. Hell, even if you make content which SHOULD fall into a safe zone for KZread's guidelines, like partial artistic depictions of nudity, if there's someone out there who just has it out for you because they're a troll or they have a hate crush on you, all they need to do is scream loud enough and they may put your entire career at risk of crashing down without you EVER knowing they existed.

Being able to find amazing channels like this one is the ONLY good thing to come from Cory having to share his inequalities on this platform. I hope the reaction videos never end, because this narrative needs to be shown on the daily.

Cory’s videos are probably the only ones I let my kids watch. Funny, upbeat, uplifting, doesn’t cuss and tells a story with his gaming. Not to mention all the charity work he does. He’s the real deal. KZread is definitely in the wrong here.

I think it has more to do with his own insecurities. It seems like he always thinks it's because he's black when something bad happens to him which is not a good mindset to have. Even this situation has nothing to do with him being black. It's KZread's faulty algorithm that didn't age restrict everyone's video correctly since that was the intended outcome due to the content being presented in those videos. The reason KZread took off age restriction was because he gave an example of another video not being age restricted. They then went in and investigated the situation and saw the age restriction was correct just that it wasn't being applied to everyone correctly so they "fixed" it and age restricted everyone. Again, none of this was because he was black.

@@xZero9Ox how do you know it wasn't because he was black. Unless you have any inside knowledge or information that we and Cory don't know it then it's most likely a race issue. What other reason would his video get unrestricted then restricted again unless they didn't want people to see it. They went out of there way restrict Markiplier just so Cory could not have any leverage against them. Cory has evidence and receipts they literally targeted him specifically and would have done nothing about it if he said nothing.

Some companies definitely do truly believe in diversity. But they tend to be smaller businesses and start ups or local business owners who have to take what they can get - someone who is on time and works hard rather than being picky. I think the more genuine companies are outside the US however.

Finally someone with a platform said it. I'm disabled and work for a fortune 100 company that always wins awards for diversity, equity, and inclusivity and is like top 10 companies for disabled people to work at. One time I had a particularly bad bout of health and had to take some time off. When I came back I was demoted. I raised an HR complaint and they told me they weren't legally required to restore my job. It was so frustrating, bur hey what am I going to do sue them and lose my livelihood when I got a family to take care of?

Great valid points! Its all about how you represent the platform you are in. Business is business, that's why they say don't take it personal, it's just business. Business don't want to waste their time investigating personal matters that can affect their pockets.

The bigger issue is theirs no competition for KZread. I’d almost go as far to say they have a monopoly on independent video streaming. MAYBE twitch, but as far as the main stream. How is it racism? If anything it is KZread's algorithms not working correctly. The video in question here was always going to get age restricted it just wasn't working correctly and doing the same with everyone. It's why once it was brought up to actual humans working at KZread it was ultimately applied to everyone's video.

I don't know if you have seen the numbers but it's said that 500 hours of video is uploaded to KZread every minute. There is absolutely no other way they can get through all that if they used actual humans so algorithms is the only option.

I actually had a situation very much like this working at a restaurant. I wasn't allowed to have a mustache or other facial hair; policy of the general manager. That was until one of his favorites came back to work who had a full-on beard. I called that out immediately. I was allowed to have my mustache rather than him making his buddy shave his beard. FYI, there are hair nets for facial hair.

Had a similar situation in college, took golf/swimming with an almost all female class( great time for a 17 years old boy hehe), they wanted to swim without headwear, he said ok but I still had to wear one, I asked why and the instructor said because i had long hair....well , most of the girls had long hair and they did not have to wear the hat, i think he was afraid i go higher cause he said ok, still felt weird that i had to point out the hypocrisy.

This happened to me at my school, I got accused of something I didnt do ,btw I'm and immigrant from poland that moved to ireland and the school is mostly irish ,they accused me endlessly of things I'd never do ,I got bullied by teachers for two years ,suspended ,even thoguht I was one of the most obident students ,my parents could never defend me because of the language barrier and I 100% belive that they took advantage of this ,not the mention the mother of the girl who accused me was close friends with the principle ,so it was a lost cause from thhe start ,the reality is that people will always choose personally and emotionally even in professional environments

I’m a fan of both you guys and Because of my daughter I have become a fan of Cory. Sometimes I myself find some of the content questionable, but I am confident enough in my parenting to speak to my kid and don’t put that responsibility on Cory. I could also see this not being the case for other parents who might walk in at bad points in his video. I don’t think it’s KZread over scrutinizing him. Kids love this guy I guess because he is a child like soul he seems like he is genuinely good people. But I think that comes with a price on this app that you might get held to a higher standard. 🤷🏾‍♂️ this was a great video. That's exactly why after a certain amount of time goes by & I haven't received notes from a certain channel I just go 2 the search box & type in the channel I wanna go 2. I'm subbed 2 mad different KZreadrs. But I have my regulars that I watch on the regular. So I know what 2 do. KZread BEEN on sum bullshit. I miss the days of old. Make KZread gr8 again

I work for a huge tech company and the “diversity and inclusion training” is such fluff. Already ran across racial biases and other issues spewed across the company and it’s already becoming insufferable.

I agree. My job has the same thing and it’s all about the visuals, they don’t actually care to further poc, just want their faces there like a diverse college pamphlet. There’s almost no poc in higher positions, even with an extensive employment AND educational background.

I delete those stupid d&i emails as soon as they pop up in my work email inbox. I don't have time for any of that. And I know I'm not the only one because anytime we have these company wide "all hands" team meetings which allow us to post questions anonymously, ooh boy do things get spicy😂😂

I'd say those training are extremely racist against whites and it's design to make you hyper aware of race. You probably walk around and call everything racist. I guarantee you got the job because of your race.

This is part of why I dropped out of teaching and changed careers. Being Aboriginal (a minority), I was only hired because of my race. Simple. My views went against what I was "supposed to say," what I'm "supposed to believe," and what I'm "supposed to being fighting against." I was just a number or a box on a checklist that was supposed to help policies and promote their woke agenda. It frustrated the school that I taught students to be open minded, and the school board decided to take action against me when I made an open comment about "We are teaching our children to become robots, not thinkers. We have them be told HOW to think rather than to THINK about the WHY and WHAT they are learning."

That's how progressives operate, they use minorities to gain political power then turn against them the moment they don't tow the line or if they start thinking in a different way than what the progressive dictate, they did that with gay people and now they are turning against them (specially gay women) and calling them TERFs for refusing to sleep with Trans-women.

@@Alyrael I taught for 10 years and by the end of it, I was just done. No one wanted to change. It was much easier to replace staff than to actually assess the policies and see improvements.

Just how i feel being the only minority in my work place. Every time i make a complaint or notice the subtitle prejudice and behavior towards me, I’m gaslight. I’m made to believe it’s me but when it starts happening to other white coworkers then they start looking at me like “oh.” By then I’m already indifferent to the BS. And when you’re indifferent to the BS you’re the problem (as if I wasn’t already the “problem”).

I stopped getting notifications from this channel untill literally just recently. I was puzzled as to why I stopped getting notifications from the channel. Same thing happened with the Facts Matter channel with Roman. I stopped getting notifications and stopped seeing it in my YT feed... now I'm seeing it in the feed again all of a sudden.
