Thanks, great video! Everything is perfectly clear now. I haven't build a PC in over a decade and I got this PSU based on price and reviews. I just opened the box and thought "where do I even start? What's a pci cpu?" lol. I guess I wanted a new fancy modular PSU, and I got what I asked for- with no instructions. I just wish Corsair offered it WITH the optional premium cables, I probably would have upgraded. Now I'll probably put it together as is, and/ or possibly go with Cable Mod... Seems like a bad move to not give us the choice.

I've noticed that my mouse and keyboard, and mouse pad turn off and on sometimes, not fun while playing Call Of Duty.. is it because I don't have certain cables plugged into the back end of the power supply? I honestly willy nilly just plugged cables in. I mean the machine runs, its just ever so often for like 5 seconds it will turn off and turn back on.. I figured since, I'm using a ton of USB power if there is such a thing, that, that's the reasoning it keeps turning off and on. Thank

Hi there, Could someone help me understand something about the RM***x power supply range? I bought an rm850x power supply and then 3 other RM750x and there is ultrasonic noise and hum on all 4. The capacitors are all hissing. Is this normal?! This ultrasound noise goes through my ear and it hurts me. I have a bronze CV750 from corsair and it doesn't make a capacitor noise, except for the fan which clicks under load 'tac tac tac tac' but it's light. Given the slight clicking noise I wanted to change to have a more high-end power supply thinking that it would no longer make any noise, nor tac tac tac, nor any capacitor noise (?). It's incomprehensible to buy a higher end power supply that makes a hissing, buzzing and ultrasonic noise. I had changed this CV750 to an RM850x but the RM850X made a hissing noise and the other 3 RMX750x also. Is this a manufacturing defect? it must absolutely not buzz, I don't understand.

Hi, I recently purchased a PSU similar to the one you're showing in your video. I've been noticing a specific noise when the fan kicks in. I can hear it because my setup is very quiet, so even the slightest sound stands out. It's not the sound of air flowing, it's more like... I don't know how to describe it exactly, but it reminds me of the sound a fridge makes when it turns on. Obviously, it's not as loud or intense as a fridge, but it's that kind of electrical hum. I've noticed similar sounds in other KZread videos when the fan starts to spin. I was wondering if you experience the same noise with your PSU and if it's considered normal?

At about 3:40, you've just plugged in two CPU cables in the bottom right. Then you plug the GPU cable into a plug next to them that is in the same row as the SATA/PATA connectors, and doesn't appear clearly labeled. But right above it is a plug that IS clearly labeled PCIe/CPU. Are they all the same? And how would I know that bottom plug that you used was for the GPU? I'm not a big fan of the labeling on this PSU.

Just incase anyone in the future is still wondering this: The PSU has five slots where pcie/cpu pins can plug into. (at the top underneath the cpu/pcie label, and two to the left and right of the pcie/cpu label on the bottom.) the psu comes with three cpu leads with one 8 pin connectors each and two pcie leads with two 8 pin connectors each. that’s five leads in total. For 3x8 pin gpu and 2x8pin cpu you would plug in two CPU leads and two PCIe. On the PCIe leads you would have a spare 6+2 pin connector but you can pretty easily hide that

@@mhnoni No idea, maybe they thought people could read the slots? but it’s hard to figure out if you don’t spend all day looking at cables. pcie/cpu cables go into a 2x4 slot and data/sata go into a 2x3. There’s also only 5 Data/sata slots despite at first glance it seeming like it has wayy more You’d realise it pretty quickly once you got the PSU infront of you, but they definitely should make it more obvious on the product website because there are probably a lot of people who have passed up on this because it doesn’t have the right connectors at first glance.

This is a great PSU, had it for 4 years and never had an issue. However, 2 years in, I upgraded my GPU to a XFX RX6900XT and since then, from a cold boot, I have to reboot my PC several times just to get it to post. Once it posts, it's fine. The cables that come with this PSU has a PCIe GPU splitter. Basically 2x 8 pin for the GPU that comes off of one PCIe output on the PSU. But there are 2x PCIe outputs on the PSU. Should I use them both for this one graphics card? I know this card requires a lot of power, but I have always used the splitter cables coming off one PCIe PSU output. I wonder if this card needs both.

I used the cables that were already connected to my old PSU, except for the PCIE cable which i had to change to the one that came with the Corsair RM850X. That PCIE cable has an extra 8 pin connector(6+2) shooting off (going back in the opposite direction) one of the 8 pin ends. No idea where that goes, does that go into the PSU, do i leave it free.
