Corsair H60 Liquid Cooler into Alienware R10 - R11 , Step by step tutorial.

(see comments for BIOS errors). If you have a R11 system it seems that you will need to plug into the CPU FAN Slot to avoid a bios error. I have seen a number of comments of the problem and this is a possible solution for this version of the bios.

Thanks so much for this guide, I used it for my system and it was perfect. I also replaced the front fan to reduce noise as well. The only suggestion I will make to people who are doing this is to make sure you unplug your video card power cables before lifting the powersuply up, I did not do this and it pulled the video card out of the slot. Luckily nothing was damaged.

I figured I'd post this in a new comment: My own h60 installation went perfectly! The highest temp I've pulled so far is 61c while gaming. The SSD install was easy as hell, there's included 2.5" mounts in the bottom of the case that are snap-in. I found that there's a bit of space in front of the PSU to tuck the hoses while swinging the power supply down. The runs for cable management are great for keeping the h60's SATA power cable organized. I did need to unplug the two 4-pin power connectors and tuck those away while working, but I just re-ran the cables after with no issues. The trickiest part was actually installing the RAM with the hoses in the way and, of course, maneuvering the fan/radiator housing out of the top of the case. You had a great angle in your video though so I knew to tilt just the right way to clear them. Thank you so much for your guidance, my friend is extremely pleased with his computer. One thing I noticed was the fan seems to be pegged at 23% usage. Is there a way to increase/vary this? I tried in Alienware Command Center with no luck. Also, looks like the stock fan uses ball-bearings! Yuck! I'll be installing some RAM and creating the XMP profile for it tomorrow, my first AMD RAM installation and I hear it can be tricky, but the timings look to be printed on the back of the RAM modules so fingers crossed it will post with the 4 x 8 GB (32gb) RAM I'll be throwing in there. I hate RAM issues so I'm hoping I don't see boot issues or stock clock speeds of like 2133mhz. Once again, thank you for this video and your guidance!

Great to hear about the smooth install and the extra installation tips. The Fan speed changes seem to be controlled by command center without a great amount of control - probably to keep newbies like me from making to many of the wrong changes. I have read that the percentage for corsair 120 might be based on the higher speed stock fan ie. 23% might be really 46% if the max speed is half of the stock fan.

Great to know the H60 is a perfect fit! A buddy of mine just ordered the R10 with 5800x and 3060 which was on sale for $1234 as his first gaming PC. First thing I said is that we’ll definitely need to upgrade the stock CPU cooler, so it’s good to know the H60 fits perfectly, as it’s much easier to source one than the official Alienware liquid AIO cooler.

Seems to be working great for me. I did a push/pull fan setup on the radiator with two ML 120 Pro's. I did get the bios diagnostic error for "top fan", but "CPU fan" was fine which is also one of the new fans and both are spinning. Cooler is lit up and liquid is flowing. FYI for anyone else interested, I also tried an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 120, but the holes did not align with the bracket and the hoses were too sturdy to really cram in this case safely. CPU under 100% load is still up to 83⁰ C, but it's much quieter, and that 83⁰ would have been at least 92⁰ before while also sounding like a leaf blower.

I would even go further and replace the top fan (Corsair SP120) that comes with the H60 with a ML120 Pro and also replace the remaining junk Dell front fan with a ML120 Pro or a super quiet Noctua AF12x25 pwm fan. This reduces the noise of the Alienware and brings down the temperature further specially for the GPU. The front fan can easily be replaced, just need to take out the graphic card and replace it 1:1. Still cannot believe that you can still order an Alienware R10 with the hot new AMD 5600x-5900x CPU's with these crap fans.

This setup is pushing hot air thru the "radiator" and out of the top of the case, the liquid cooler does a better job when you pull cool air thru the "radiator" instead. I reversed my top fan, and reversed my front fan and my R10 runs another 10c cooler. Your video was helpful tho thanks

@@Plus2UsernameOfWit Yes, clean the old thermal paste with alcohol wipes - or isopropyl alcohol on a cloth or paper towel. it doesn't require a lot . The beauty of this new generation of processors is they have their own heatsink die and have build in temperature sensors that shut off/reduce the processor speed if they detect over temperatures (extra safety window vs the old days of fried parts). You do need a clean connection between each part - I have read about some higher temperature issues when people don't clean the old paste.

Since the heat exchange occurs in the top of the machine, I would figure the area around the CPU is cooler.
