When I watched this I had tears in my eyes...My Dad used to fly the F4U...He passed away some years ago , but if he had seen and heard this aircraft he would have loved it...The aircraft, detail and sound are amazing...Thank you and good luck for the future...

ChrisB257 Thank you _Chris_. Kolm does not produce radial engines and therefore they fit in perfectly into P-51's, Spitfire's and Me109 and gives a touch of the sound of a Merlin or DB603 engine. The sound of the Moki radial is perfect for planes like the Corsair, FW190 and other radial powered planes. _Best regards, RCSA_

This is one of the best planes I've seen. It looks so realistic and the thrust that the engine puts out is totally amazing. Plenty enough to get that plane in the air. Thank you for sharing this with us. TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!

Outstanding build and great flight! Also deserved mentioning this is some of the best RC footage even 5 years later.

I just kept repeating as I saw and heard this beautiful work: "Man, that is cool!" I have never heard an RC plane that sounded so realistic (and it couldn't look better, either).

@@mikecooper8462 I don't know but I'll bet there are readers who know that stuff. Some of them could probably give the complete history of the company, the models offered, all sorts of details. The first model plane I built (as a kid) was a Corsair. Wind up rubber band powered. Damn thing would not fly and when it crashed and broke I was so frustrated that I lit it on fire. It looked like a real burning plane. Frustration is so destructive.

WOW! Super nice Corsair. Outstanding smooth roll too. The best I have observed. Makes it look like a real full size aircraft. Great build job also. DON'T CRASH IT.

An excellent maiden flight and landing of that sweet and wonderfully done F4U by Markus! However, without the superb camerawork, video and editing by you Horst we couldn't enjoy it at all! Depicting the Corsairs that were stationed at Quantico, Virginia in around 1955-1957 or so. Great flying, awesome video. Good job guys.

I did not know Moki made a 300 untill now. Pretty scary on the landing but being a maiden, the pilot didn't know it was going to float forever so it was smart to go around only to do it again lol! Great filming and keep em coming! J

Flying with friends for friends is what makes it so relaxing. It's not a big event, but it's a good opportunity to meet people at the season start. I think you would enjoy it. The only reason to avoid such a long journey is, because the show is only on Saturday and some pre-flights on Friday afternoon. _Cheers, Horst_

Awesome model. That flying site has become quite familiar over the videos. Amazing how many beautiful models have flown there.

All of the old warbirds are beautiful to look at , but I love the models especially the war birds from all the nations of that time , they all had their unique style , and engineering that was beyond awesome ...

Kit 1/6 th Top Flite needed some modification to make it perfectly scale then I made a mold of it to make a fibreglass copy, the original is almost ready just finishing touches then I will do the glass copy. My length of time was drawn out with custom electronics for lights, gear staging and canopy, plus it took nearly a year to find a pilot that matched the original pilot Chris McGee from the Black Sheep Flying Squadron Plane ID 883. Full cockpit wit lights, proper fittings to make it look just right. But I have always loved the sound of those Moki Powered versions but I don't have the room to store them as I have 2 jets that hog all the space. But yours came out a treat and smooth first roll and climb.

Cracking looking F4U with a Moki radial engine = superb video. Thanks for sharing.

Just saw this video 3 yrs. after it came out. I hope this beautiful F4U is still flying. Tremendous power out of that Moki turning a 4 blade. Wise for the pilot to abort 1st landing attempt and go around. It seems to me that the Europeans are in the forefront of building and flying giant(huge)scale RC aircraft. I wonder if this is due to maximum weight restrictions in the USA by the AMA and FAA for RC aircraft.

mreid08 Warbirds in 1/4 Scale are already standard today. On Air Shows you'll hardly get to see smaller models. Yes, it's a matter of $$$ but nobody talking about pimped cars of young people. They cost much more :) Everyone should burn his money in his own way. :)

Should have right rudder on take off as soon as you start moving with ALL tail draggers. Although the response time was good, he should have known this. P factor ALWAYS does this even with down and right motor angle. That aside, amazing flight for a maiden. Loved this. I also have the same color scheme and love it as well.

God bless you for NOT replacing the camera sound recording with some robo-crap slash-and-burn electro shock muzak -ack-ack-pukery. I HATE it when people do that ... (Can u tell?) lol To the point: At about 3:21 he accelerates out of the frame ... Ha! ... 5:17 - three wire! Nailed it! First time I've seen and heard a 300 cc rc motor ... What always gives away an rc in a video clip, no matter how accurate the bird, it's that mosquito-on-meth engine sound, right? Not this baby, scaled R2800 for the win! Excellent video in every respect! One chuckle, at the beginning, " ... Dude, hang on, ... Wait.. My cap .. Hang on .. I can't do this unless my cap is on like, perfect ... Ok ok I'm good ... " lol .. Classic example how common it is that extrodinarily talented/gifted/skilled people have funny little OCD rituals ideosynchrocies (sp?) like that... Love it ..

I'm surprised the thrust didn't pull the guy off the ground that was holding it, in the beginning of the video ! Awesome sound!

I'm just a bit curious about something. The F4u and other planes at the time had advantages and disadvantages,but might be crazy but would any of those things play into an RC version?

Never understood this.its almost large enough to sit in.build it a little larger and fly it?

Beautiful Corsair it sounds great. I was impressed with the power the plane had, which was demonstrated when the pilot ran the engine up and watching who was holding it back and seeing the amount of strength required to do hold it back. Crazy question is that a radial engine in it? My father was 2nd Air Wing USMC during WW2 and he would have loved to see your Corsair. Thank you enjoy your Corsair.

I don't care about dislikes because it usually comes from people who can not fold even a paper airplane. *LOL* Most of them are envious people, or people who don't like the fact that the pilot is barefoot or has a big belly. But these themselves are fat and sitting barefoot in a large armchair, drinking beer and shoveling popcorn.

One very nice aircraft, I want to build one to fly, it's in my "bucket list". Dang that engine sounds good, Love it when you make that "high speed attack", the only thing missing is the "Victory Roll". What are the possibilities of mounting a camera in the cockpit? Thanks for sharing.
