Corpus Delicti-Worship of Heavenly Bodies | Making Space at the Armory

Founder of the academic discipline of transgender studies Sandy Stone, trans health consultant and artist D’hana Perry, and GLITSINC Founder and Executive Director Ceyenne Doroshow discuss how trans people and trans bodies are both governed and excluded by ingrained societal structures. This conversation tracing the history of trans lives within and without the medical/political industrial complexes is moderated by interdisciplinary artist Carlos Motta. How does the radical spirit of individuals and communities persevere through these shifting social and political landscapes?
This event was presented as part of Corpus Delicti, a thought-provoking salon celebrating transgender liberation through intergenerational kinship, and presented in conjunction with "Mutant;Destrudo," (October 11-15, 2023) an Armory’s commission by the multifaceted artist and creator Arca that continues the artist's practice of addressing themes of psychosexuality, science fiction, and gender identity.
