COROS predicts

We travelled down to Long Eaton to run this fast flat course. Can John finally break his 5 year spell of no Sub 20 parkruns?

Congratulations John on such a fast time. That sub 20 will definitely come soon! I also want to congratulate you on your weight loss & abstention from the amber nectar which must have really helped your awesome progression. You are looking in great shape. Brilliant video as always 👍

Thanks yes it struck me looking back on last year's visit there how much had changed! Wondering how much more improvement there is to make.

Cracking run there, well done. We still really want to try Long Eaton as it looks very quick indeed, you're also convincing me I need to ditch my garmin and get into the Coros fan club haha

Quite apart from being a superb route, all the logistics are spot on.. Coros is superb, but you need the extra arm HRM to go with it as the wrist one is erratic.

20.02 is a nice palindrome. Well done, John. My Coros predicted times are getting close to what I think actual with the more I use it.

Nice one, John! I could only dream of those times at the moment 😂 My coros still predicts unrealistic times at the moment across the major distances - I'm not sure what it needs in terms of a workout/run to readjust. Reading half in 2 weeks, so it will be interesting to see how close to the predicted half marathon time I'm able to get...

Is mine more aligned because I race more frequently and do workouts?

@@tworunningbrooms yeah, I would say so. I might do their fitness test this week and see if that does an update. I thought it would consistently update based on fitness levels, but seemingly not...

Great effort you smashed your predicted time! Long Eaton Is my Parkrun PB course as well. Good luck in the Marathon I'm sure you will crush it.

Getting closer and closer to sub 20! I'm really considering getting a Coros watch, what are your thoughts on the GPS accuracy, would you say it's more reliable than Dawn's Garmin?

Thank you. Great question. We pretty much measure the same on runs. For example on yesterday's 16 miles we were spot on. Dawn is thinking that her next watch will be a Coros. I personally love all the different numbers and graphs which I find more useful than Garmin. Also the battery life is way better.

Parkrun I'd say as it's semi race. I did 19.52 in an actual race back in October.

Great running, John! That sub-20 is round the corner! How do you find Coros, I have always had Garmins, mine is getting quite old and looking at potentially getting a newer one, and was thinking about Coros.

I love the detail that Coros brings. The race predictor is for more accurate than Dawn's Garmin. I'm glad I made the switch.

Great run mate, as you are in marathon training did you taper at all. You would crack 20 with a bit more 5k type speedwork

No not tapered for any of those parkruns. I did run a 19:52 in a 5k race back in October but yet to get there in a parkrun.
