Corgi renovation Black Beauty No. 268 Green Hornet TV series. Die-cast model.
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Equipped with lots of Black Beuthy Green Hornet gadgets, a "crime-fighting car" with a built-in secret rocket launcher and a flying radar scanner, Corgi toys nr. 268, was produced in the years 1967-1972. Green Hornet was the main character of an American radio series from the 1930s. In the 1940s, several film series were created, and then in 1966 an American television series was made, in which Bruce Lee played the helper of Kato. Turn on and off the subtitles in your language in the video. I got my model from a friend in Italy with borrowed parts to be copied. The Black Beauty model was very damaged. It lacked a roof pillar, and there was not a single metal element for stuffing the front racket. I did all the repairs. I made new wheels and modeled the rocket launch guide. An interesting fact is that this car had two different types of rims. The front ones were grooved, while the rear ones were smooth. I also made a box for this model with a display. On the basis of the borrowed glass, I made my own pet material vacuum thermoforming method. Thank you for watching the movie, I publish videos with the repair of cars on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The ultimate christmas present for any boy living in the 70’s , I spent hours back then admiring the models , the boxes , even the catalogues in toy shops because they weren’t exactly cheap by the standards of the 70’s , so I had to deserve my Dinky or Corgi by a lot of schoolwork and good behaviour. Sometimes the simple fact of seeing one of your restored models with its boxing can bring back images , sensations and souvenirs from my childhood powerfully , even some I thought forgotten.

Thank you very much. This is what I mean
That’s a remarkable restoration! Brilliant! What’s fascinating to me that these models were designed before Computer Aided Design existed. How on earth did they do it? Anyway another great video, thank you.

I read somewhere that the hand made parts, prototypes, were larger so they could see the mechanisms at work, the scaled down. I find old tooling fascinating. The GI Joe Skystriker plane tool was one solid tool per side. Top half from nose to tail and bottom half. Same with Castle Grayskull. But these cars, to imagine someone hand carving the detail into the tooling. Even the vents at the bottom of the windshield. Amazing!
I had one of these when I was a kid. My Mom bought it for me for my birthday. I must have been around 7 or 8. Awesome brings back great memories. Thank You 🙏

Świetna robota, Paul, po raz kolejny jestem zachwycony. Ja za to zdecydowanie trzymam kciuki 👍🏼 Dziękuję za udostępnienie. Życzę Wam i Waszym rodzinom udanego weekendu i bezpiecznego wypoczynku. Kontynuuj dobrą pracę, mój przyjacielu. Pozdrowienia od zwariowanego staruszka DIE-CAST z wybrzeża Morza Północnego 😜 😎👍🏼🇵🇱✌🏼🇩🇪👍🏼🤠 The legendary Corgi special models with their incredible technical refinements... Who of our generation doesn't know and love them? Unfortunately, hardly any of us could afford such dream pieces back then... Great work, Paul, I am thrilled once again. Clearly a thumbs up from me for this 👍🏼. Thanks a lot for sharing. You and your family have a great weekend and stay safe and sound. Keep up the good work, mate. Greetings from the DIE CAST crazy old man on the North Sea shore 😜 😎👍🏼🇵🇱✌🏼🇩🇪👍🏼🤠 Die legendären Corgi Sondermodelle mit ihren unglaublichen technischen Finessen... Mach weiter so mein Freund. Gruß vom DIE-CASTverrückten alten Mann an der Nordseeküste 😜 😎👍🏼🇵🇱✌🏼🇩🇪👍🏼🤠

Wow ... just wow! 😮 Your fabrication work is superb! I had the Corgi “Green Hornet Black Beauty” as a child and kept it for many years, eventually giving it to a diecast toy collector. I vividly remember the feel of the car’s actuator buttons. Thank you for the excellent video.

Oh I always loved this Corgi ! My parents never bought one for me as a kid but I loved the old TV show. Kato was played by none other than the great Bruce Lee. The best part of the show was when the Black Beauty was “rotated” from an secret underground parking garage on a spinning platform (seeming to “replace” the ordinary car that’s usually parked in its place) Super Cool ! Thanks for the memories 😎 🐝

I used to have this model when I was a kid back in the 1980s. It was in very poor condition when I got it. It’s nice to see his it should have looked! You’ve done an excellent job on this. The mechanism looks very complicated and fiddly.

As the years have gone by....I have seen so many of this particular car in really beat-up trashed condition. But it's because the kids LOVED to play with it. I know I did. The one you received was really bad. I thought it was great how you went to the trouble of fabricating a piece for the internal workings of the car....now made out of material far superior to what the original factory used. To be Honest, the companies who made these toys were in business to make a profit. There are many items which could have been made better, but time and speed of production did not permit it. Do not let any of the comments get to you with people saying things like, "Not Historically Accurate". I'm certain that if the original craftsmen (and craftswomen) who made these toys had access to all the resources and equipment that you have at your disposal....they would have JUMPED at the chances to make the toys better! When you add chrome highlights ALL AROUND THE CAR, instead of just the bumper....I love it. When you correct the size of a racing decal, replacing the clumsy far too large version done at the factory (and you make sure it goes on straight)....I love it. And when you use your Moloto markers to make the rims sparkle and shine, where originally the rims where a silver grey shmutz, I LOVE IT. I was a kid buying these things in the sixties and seventies and I know how dull the rims were!! Well, I have run on far to long, but bottom line....keep doing what you do. You're GREAT at it! Chalon.
