Original is Slipknot, written by Corey (his first contribution to the writing process) He felt it a bit soft, was encouraged by his best friend Paul Gray (Slipknot bass player) to develop it, and it made the 3rd album in 2009 Originally about Coreys love for a friend who helped him through depression, he told her his feelings, she rejected him Sadly Paul died in 2010, so Corey sings it to him now in his memory, and its why he gets upset. From the same 'Hated' gig he does a brilliant version of Spongebob Squarepants theme 😂

PS the Slipknot video is a masterpiece - its like a mini film, very creepy, with a guest appearance from film legend Malcolm McDowell (Clockwork Orange) and Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser)

I got to see him on his book tour and I asked him what his favorite recording process was for an album, and he said AHIG, specifically because of this, and because it was the last album with Paul

Corey got these lyrics from the Manson forums around 1998-2000 or so. Like most all of Slipknots and Stone Sours major hits.

Being a lifelong Slipknot fan, and closely relating to the struggles of both Corey and Paul, it is simply not possible for me to listen to this song and NOT be emotional. A beautiful song, and tribute to a friend. RIP Paul.

You just can help but break with this song, to think that he sings it dedicating it to Paul and Joey, breaks even more our hearts

The neurological disease had temporarily cost him the use of his legs and caused him to be unable to play the drums before rehabilitation. He recovered with the aid of medical help and physical therapy. Percussionist and backing vocalist Chris Fehn #3 Chris left the band in 2019, Chris’s mask has a long nose like Pinocchio. Percussionist/backing vocalist Shawn Crahan #6 A.K.A. Clown because he wears a clown mask. Sampler/synthesizer and keyboardist Craig Jones #5 Craig mask is black with long needles pointing out if it. Craig never talks, he doesn’t talk to media/interviews, he even doesn’t talk to other members of the band. Vocalist Cory Taylor said in a interview the reason why Craig doesn’t talk is because he just a guy that can speak but doesn’t, Cory Taylor also said this when Craig does talk it’s scary because he will be right behind you and you don’t even know he’s their and Cory said when Craig speaks you listen and the band gave him the nickname the quiet one. New Slipknot Members are new bassist Alessandro Venturella nickname V-man he replaced Paul Grey on bass Alessandro joined the band in 2014 on Slipknot 5th album .5 the Gray chapter. New drummer Jay Weinberg replaced drummer Joey Jordison, Jay Weinberg Joined the band in 2014 also on the band 5th album. Michael Plaff nickname Tortilla man because his mask looks like a melted/burn tortilla he replaced Chris Fehn on Percussion and backing vocals, Michael Plaff joined the band in 2019 on the band’s 6th album we are not your kind. The three new Slipknot members don’t have numbers. You know who’s song this is, when we’re looking at fictional characters and all that? Has to be Joel Millers song, Joel Miller of the Last of Us.

Its great to see people finally starting to see slipknot the way the fans have since the start. they played this song on Melbourne just after Paul died(R.I.P no #2) that was truly moving i hope you continue to enjoy their music good reaction

Corey Taylor is one of my favorites of all time whether it be solo, in slipknot or in stone sour. You should check out his acoustic version of purple rain. It’s incredible.

I think the reason words are tough for this particular video is because of how RAW Corey is. I see another comment that tells the story of the song so I won’t go into it but he’s absolutely pained in this performance. The official music video is… interesting but since the first time I saw this version it’s been my favourite. He has a 2nd band Stone Sour & his song Bother is a good jumping point if y’all decide to listen. 😊

It's the last performance of the full show with the intro starting at 1:49:18. It's just amazing to see those 2 different sides of Coreys personality shining through this two versions of the song. Having written lots of songs about being heartbroken, performing them used to suck. It’s really a matter of where you’re at with. Once you move on, it’s just a melody. Even if a particular line may remind you of something specific. At least for me…

You should have a listen to "Song 3" acoustic from his other band stone sour.. A lot of songs in that band let his vocals really shine specially if you listen to any of them in acoustic with him.. I also recommend the song called "Home" that he performs live.. he learned to play piano to play that song he written for his wife his voice in that song is amazing!
