The Jim Redgate is ultimately in a league of its own. There's no comparison IMO. But the C12 is great value for the price.

Yeah for sure, the redgate also didn't have that new of strings on it, which I prefer for a warmer sound, but you lose a little volume and brightness

Wow thank you for the comparison ! The Redgate is definitely in it's own class having heard Ana Vidovic done many brilliant performances on it. But I have to say the Cordoba really punches above it's weight for a workshop instrument ! The Redgate sounds very balanced overall and the Cordoba has a wonderful depth in tone with the warmth and volume, deep bass and really decent trebles. I feel that price is definitely a big factor, but not the overall factor when getting an instrument for sure. Every guitar should be judged on it's own merit ultimately on whether it is good or not.

Difference between C9 and C10 in Cordoba guitars, please? I'm looking a guitar to play bossa nova. Which one is the best choice? Spruce or Cedar?

Both will work great, Spruce is a little brighter in sound. Cedar if you want a warmer sound

Please sir I needs must know the names of these pieces especially at the 1-2 minute mark (sorry can't check it while commenting). To me it seems Joaquin Rodrigo-esque in nature but whatever it is I fricking LOVE it! Beautiful beautiful playing.

Thanks. A lot of it is scales and improvising chords. Some pieces were, Romanza, Malaguena and Asturias.

The cordoba isn't bad but there is a definite cheapness compared to the Redgate. With rare exception, you get what you pay for, in my opinion. Also judging by the playing, I sensed the Redgate was much easier to play because there were virtually no buzzes and cleaner notes.

Whats cool is from the C9-12 i have the c9 cedar over the C12 cedar. Its just the c9 rings better in my ears, the c12 sounds more flamenco style tunes, but im looking foreward to get the c12 spruce c: Luthier made guitars are wayyyyyyyy out of budget, cordoba never fails to impress 😌

C12 Is a amazing guitar i own one,love it. probaply the best price quality guitar there is... i tested and compared it to 50 other guitars of that price range

The thick poly finish on the C12 kills the sound ,a french shellac finish on the C12 would be perfect!!!

Ultimately the Redgate is superior. But the Cordoba is great alternative for the not in the upper 5 %.

Redgate sounds a few miles ahead of Cordoba. Redgate sounds very deep, very soulful and haunting. C12 just plain ordinary good classical sound only.

Big price difference and build quality, but the Cordoba is a great guitar

The Cordoba has a plasticly sound to it, compared to the Redgate, which is more woody and also more balanced. In the end, the Redgate is a better instrument, but lets be honest, if you are not a professional, and mostly play in your bedroom, there is no logical reason to drop 10-15k on an instrument.

You pay for other things too like woods, craftmanship, tone sustain, volume. I love the redgate, but the Cordoba is great for the price too!

No way the Redgate is worth it's asking price compared to that Cordoba unless it would actually play itself. Cordoba all the way here.
