    Brandon Garretson I don't. They were showing ID and he recognised the fact that they were officers and as such there is no need for a uniform.This is just some fuck wit thats obviously done something wrong (hence the reluctance to talk to the officers) and making a scene and being obstructave and thought he could bully his way out of the situation. I am surprised that he didn't play the race card.

Nor does showing an idea or badge make you a police officer plenty of fakes are manufactured. He was well with in his rights but according to you that's making a scene. Why don't you actually go study the law before acting as if intelligent. The man has a right especially when being randomly grabbed and pulled to the side. Nor does not wanting to talk to police mean you've done something wrong that's an argument out of ignorance and a wild assertion.

    Zeus Incoming2 anybody can buy a fake badge and pretend to be a cop so it’s sensible to request a uniformed police officer. Most detectives also aren’t responsible for patrol duties and don’t execute arrests that often. The whole reason detectives don’t have uniforms is so they can focus on investigative duties instead of being misidentified as a patrol officer. And parole officers hardly arrest anyone ever or conduct any sort of investigation. Hell a lot of them don’t even have the power to make arrests

  • @kurtk5293

    For all we know these could have been dirty cops who found out this guy was carrying cash and trying to confiscate it, by planting something on him. He was right to call for another uniformed police officer. This officer was trying to bait him by getting all his personal space, he was hoping he would react so he could find something to charge him with. Glad everything got worked out, because this could have went bad. The fact that the cops just knew that they had a criminal is the most disturbing, because he is an innocent man being treated as if has committed a crime. Thanks for filming this as this may be something that these officers do and they don't care if your innocent or not. Kudos to the guy for standing his ground when some would say if he has nothing to hide he should just comply. He made the right choice because something was definitely fishy about that interaction, I would have filed a complaint once I made it back to Atlanta.

    +screamingdoor Yes, but he didn't have to be loud and belligerent either. In fact it's most likely that the undercover officers wanted to take him aside because they wanted to avoid causing a scene. He could've just requested for a uniformed officer but been a lot quieter and polite about it. The way he acted probably just made the officers all the more suspicious of him.

  • @screamingdoor

    @screamingdoor

    Xombie007 He was requesting for a uniformed officer and obviously wasn't getting what he was asking for. If he was genuinely worried about these guys (rightfully so) he;s not going to follow them outside. The next best thing is to make a scene so people are watching you and at least they are aware of what is going on. In the end he had to call the police himself. The good thing about him being loud about it was it causes the person who posted this to record it. That's smart if you ask me.

  • @Xombie007

    @Xombie007

    ***** Yes he was fortunate that there was an individual there (most likely another Black fellow) who was recording the incident. I've observed that this is something that Black people often do for one another whenever they see one of their kind being confronted by the police, ever since the Rodney King beating back in the 90's in L.A. But if you look at the footage, nearly everyone else was more afraid of him being loud and belligerent as if he's another underwear bomber or something. No one was trying to side with him or offer him any assistance because of his behavior. If he had just calmly told the undercover officers, that he is afraid for his own safety in going with them somewhere private because he can't tell if their badges are real or not, and possibly maybe alert one or two passengers around him (again in a calm manner), then someone may've stepped up and even made that call to the LAPD that he was asking for. Heck, even the undercover officers may've acknowledged his position and conducted their "search and questioning" right there on the spot instead of trying to take him somewhere private. All I'm saying is that being loud, uncooperative, and belligerent, only serves to work against him, no matter how you look at it. It's definitely NOT the smart thing to do!

  • @screamingdoor

    @screamingdoor

    8 жыл бұрын

    Xombie007 The fact of the matter is that we are missing the whole situation. What we do know is from what was caught on camera. By the looks of things, he honestly probably did tell the undercover officers that he didn't feel safe. The undercover officers weren't compliant with his request for a uniformed officer on the scene and that's enough to raise suspicion in anyone. They even went as far as getting TSA agents (which we all know are thugs in a uniform) instead of actually calling the police which the man requested. I don't really know where you are from geologically, but in LA, people try and keep to themselves. At least he made enough of a scene to get somebody to record the situation for him. And yes, the camera man was another person of color. It shows it at the end of the video.

  • @Xombie007

    @Xombie007

    ***** I'm from L.A. born and raised... which is why I brought up the Rodney King beating from the early 90's. And like I said, I've seen Black people recording incidents on behalf of other Black people who are confronted by cops. It's especially easy these days since a smartphone is all you need. Back in the day, they had to use camcorders and such. Anyway, regarding this particular incident, The FACT remains... the man would've been far better off not being loud, belligerent, and just behaving like a jackass, scaring everyone else around him! That's probably why no one wanted to assist him (not even the other Black guy recording), when he asked if someone can call local PD on his behalf. Also, TSA agents and airport security have a very difficult job to do in trying to ascertain the criminals and terrorists from the loudmouth idiots like this guy, and they absolutely have the right to detain and arrest people who are non-compliant with their requests. The fact that these people restrained themselves from gang-tackling, tasing, and beating the crap out of him (as he would've likely tried to fight them), is vastly to their credit. Finally, if Black people (as well as some others) didn't have this constant "fight the power" attitude while going through life, they would've, as a race, been much further along in general as other minority races that came to the U.S. well after them!

Then, without placing him under arrest or telling him that he was being detained, to grab his arm (assault) and tell him he can't walk away.

    Whether you’re 100% for law enforcement, you want to defund law enforcement, or somewhere in between - the police serve the state or municipality they work for, not the citizen. They enforce laws against the citizenry. That’s not an anti cop thing to say it’s just a statement of fact. Just because you’d like a supervisor, a uniformed officer, or you’d like to not answer questions or refuse to identify without reasonable suspicion or probable cause doesn’t mean you’re being difficult or anti cop. It means you’re choosing to protect yourself.

If 2 plain clothes men walked up claiming to be officers and only 1 had visible badge, followed by questions pertaining to my money and a possible criminal background....any person with common sense and good judgment would do the same. What made it even more questionable was the airport security officers standing by and watching it happen. I'm pretty sure they get briefings about officers making rounds for possible criminal activity. But, the scary thing is how they didn't get a dressed officer the 1st time he asked.

    This is actually creepy as shit. "Yeah, just come with me and we'll find an officer for you." "Sure, just come with us and we'll help you." "There's a uniform just outside, come on lets go." These are the lines people here from kidnappers, rapists and other criminals who prey on social compliance and pretend to be law enforcement to get people on their own to take advantage of them. I'm sure more than one person has been robbed and stabbed down some dark alleyway because an "officer" insisted that they "just needed to come with them for a moment".

Check out Pennsylvania for civil forfeiture they are the countries leaders in "legal theft", They take Millions of dollars of goods {houses, cash, cars etc} without anyone ever seeing the inside of a court room. He was mad that the guy wanted uniformed police officer's so in retaliation tries to embarrass him. That's someone you would have to watch out for - he's just corruption waiting to happen.

    The non-uniform people gave him a hard time because they stopped him so they could commit armed robbery against him. But because he made a big scene in the middle of the airport they couldn’t rob him. If he did what they told him to do and answered all of their questions they would’ve taken him to a room in the airport and robbed him at gunpoint for any cash he may have been carrying. Look up civil seizure and civil forfeiture. You just witnessed exactly what to do if you’re ever in that kind of situation. This is no joking matter.
