I agree, but even better in my opinion, just let the laws that apply to us, apply to them. No need to change anything, just start treating them like everyone else, remove sovereign immunity. What happens if you do this to a family? Well, that's what should happen to them. Ignorance of the law is excuse(unless you're a sovereign citizen with a badge and are just "traveling" into innocent peoples living rooms with your guns out).

There is a group called American Against Qualified Immunity. Have a look. The thing is the tax payer pays in more ways than one. The tax payer paid the salaries of these corrupt cops and when corrupt cops get caught the tax payer pays again. The people in every juristriction should have the power to have corrupt and incompetent cops fired!

Firing will not work! Yes they should be fired, but they will go to another department and be hired immediately. Their union support any and everything they do. The police department around the country should be sued. Department chief has to be kick out anytime they give support to these criminal cops. The republicans and democrats party has to answer for these policies of the police department behavior. People has to stop sitting around waiting for something to change, it’s not going to change until people take serious action. And stop with this not me attitude, because it will be before you know it. The police department is a gang of criminal well supported. Why should they stop. Firing them yes by all means, but people can’t stop there. There leaders support what they do, so they feel safe. So support has to be pulled away from them. Sue Sue Sue them. Lawyer will be going after them and will be making money 💰 there will be no problem in getting attorneys. Stop talking to the police because they are not there to hear anything we have to say, augmentation go’s no where and will get a person beating up or killed by these gangsters cops. Remember they don’t care. They are not about protect and serve, that is a joke, they have no respect for the constitution or people rights. Your home is not a place of security anymore, police will walk in with no warrant. They will tell you they don’t need a warrant or will get it later. After they violated your rights. The so called body camera is joke. They can turn them off or cover them with their hands. Those should be made so they can’t turn them off. What the use of having cameras if they can control them themselves, Wake up!!!! Ours rights are being taken away everyday. And these are getting paid vacation. They call it investigation, no it’s paid vacation. (Laid off with pay pinning investigation) paid vacation. And who is paying them, the tax payer. The people who they violate.

Even when cops have the RIGHT house, they try to exert force they are not legally entitled to. My adult son has schizophrenia. He's not violent, but before he was on the right meds, he could become very agitated and frightened by the voices in his head that screamed at him. I called 911 for officers to take him to the hospital, as they had done before. This time I got the under-trained assholes who made the situation worse. I explained to them on the phone before they got to our remote rural ranch that they need to speak to him calmly, with lower energy. Of course they came at him, yelling and threatening him, even though he was sitting on the ground, rocking back in forth absolutely terrified. One officer talked to me, without listening to what I said. My dog was in the house, growling and losing his mind. The officer told me we needed to go inside because it was raining. It was barely sprinkling, so I told him the sprinkle wasn't bothering me. He sneered, "So, you expect me to stand out here in the RAIN!?" I told him that I know you can hear my dog, I put him inside so that he wouldn't run at you and get shot. No, you aren't coming inside my house. I keep a .22 rifle loaded next to the door because I raise goats and predators are a constant threat. I'm a licenced gun owner, but I didn't trust these cops to respect my right to keep a "varmint" rifle and I didn't want to die that day. I also have a huge antique sniper rifle made in 1907 that hangs on the wall. It's a retired WWI rifle with no firing mechanism, so inoperable and just a harmless antique. I didn't trust these bozos to know that. They took my son, but not to the hospital. They drove him further up the mountain and dropped him in a remote, uninhabited area and left him. My son has no arrest record, and he's a Navy veteran. I guess since they couldn't book him for anything, he wasn't worth their time. He hiked 9 miles up to the nearest town, since he had no phone or money, he couldn't call me. He found a group of homeless men who helped him and shared their food and blankets, and took him to the food bank the next day where he got warm clothing, a tarp, and food. FTP

I live in Victoria, Texas and the police were called to the public library to arrest the director for the proliferation of child pornography by having the book 'Trots and Bonnie' on the shelf. The officer, A. Ruiz, looked at the book and walked out! No arrest, no report. The whole department is now protecting him meaning the whole department is guilty of the felony crimes of 1) Aiding, abetting, and harboring individuals engaged in felony crime, and 2) Being as accomplice to the committance of felony crime. I don't expect anyone of them to arrest themselves any time soon.

That is the ONE thing that would bring about police accountability. Right now, they have us taxpayers paying for their bad deeds when they get sued. There actually was a law passed regarding that, but the US Supreme Court gutted it with a decision they made in 1967. Here's a summary of that one: "The evolution of qualified immunity began in 1871 when Congress adopted 42 U.S.C. § 1983, which makes government employees and officials personally liable for money damages if they violate a person's federal constitutional rights."
