Those guys deserved what they got! Could have just done a better job but it seems once called out they're just motivated to slap cuffs on...and make up charges rather than investigate to see if any crimes where actually committed. Then they knew no crimes had been committed but had to make up something...so what goes around comes around. Slapping cuffs on and making up charges is not being an officer of the law. These guys are true scumbags....but cops 👮‍♀️ wonder why they get bashed all the time. Few bad apples my ass....the so called good cops should be checking the bad ones....the Department should make sure these idiots actually know how to enforce law and do their jobs rather than getting exposed to lawsuits. So in the end .....kid owns them, hopefully they got a win 🏆 at trial....and we now have two so called veteran officers fired from the department because their ignorance 😉.

Naw, they know the laws. Very well, actually. They just refuse to follow them. Thinking they are above the law. Even in the constitution, it states we are protected from ALL government officials, and that's because just in case there's bad ones out there and now look. The majority of the police are all bad now. They want to be above the law. It's a mental problem.

Hopefully from his school too. If we can raise more kids like him, then eventually we would no longer have cops like that who don't know the law themselves, and the idiot next door will go the way of the Dodo, extinction. A law unto themselves. Anytime a body cam is “accidentally” dropped, turned off or has something placed between it and what the cops are doing is always a reason for extreme concern too. As a bus driver no way in hell I want the cameras and audio surveillance to not catch everything if I’m in a physical altercation…as a taxi driver it already saved me when I got attacked and hit the guy, pushed him out of the taxi etc…the guy told the cop I attacked him unprovoked then left him in the car park…cameras showed he threatened to kill me, played with my gear stick and that I drove to other side of road and waited until police were there going out of my way to show a duty of care for my attacker…anyway point is in any altercation an innocent party absolutely 100% will do what they can to make sure surveillance equipment is doing it’s job.

Muster is a perfect time to guide officers each day, a manual updated daily requiring initials of the officer before going on duty, AND 3 days training each month...the department motto should be train train train. Police are sooooo predictable that people can hit the street with a camera and troll up a cop who will spew nothing but BS for an hour. SAD.

@@JA-ux7dd Unfortunately law enforcement has become its own subculture in the US in which they characterize themselves as continually under attack (although spending for police has gone up for the last 2 decades) and continually in danger (although professions like bartending, lumberjacking, construction, and trash collector have higher death rates than police). They use this victim mentality to reinforce an unstable, unhinged way of approaching civilians as a threat - not just to their physical selves, but to their profession. They seriously think we're all out to get them and they must arrest us, bury us in criminal charges and fines, or shoot us, because the police profession hangs by a thread. It's absolutely nutty and it's why I firmly believe up to half of police officers should be institutionalized for the remainder of their career: they're unstable, dangerous, psychopaths.

But if some random dude with a portable camera hadn't been looking in the right place at the right time those crooks would have said he resisted arrest and fell down some stairs. I am not mad at bad cops. Every group of humans had bad people. Im mad at the supervisors and the so called good cops that stay silent.

@@kylas1902 I agree that every group is going to have bad ones and hypocrites. The fact that you recognize the supervisors and "good cops" are staying silent (which means they aren't good cops) and therefore supporting it shows it's virtually the entire institution itself, in its current state. This is especially true when we see how it's nearly impossible to get them convicted or even just sanctioned, even with 100% proof. The law protects them with so-called Qualified Immunity, so it's also the law itself which protects their actions as well. So it goes far beyond just the police institution or "bad cops". It's the entire US institution as a whole that is the problem in this matter.

I think it’s also worth noting their previous employment was terminated rather than them voluntarily stepping down. Law enforcement agencies I would imagine don’t want to hire previously terminated officers, but maybe that’s me being naive.

@@DeadEye123100 DeadEye. Yes, naive covers it. Law Enforcement Agencies don't care about why an Officer was "terminated" from a previous LE job, so long as his/her credentials are still in good standing. In this particular case, the Officers were terminated based on a non-disciplinary basis due to a failure or refusal to attend mandatory training/retraining. They'd be picked up in a heartbeat by another Department. New Recruits cost a fortune to run through the Academy and get credentialed. Guys/Gals already credentialed are highly regarded over new recruits for that reason.

Something I’ve noticed in a lot of these interactions is cops have this tendency to be like “oh I was JUST going to do this until so and so started going crazy.” But then when it comes time for them to tell a coherent recollection of the events, suddenly they have no explanation of why things escalated on the victims side. They can’t pinpoint a single action that led to the escalation. It’s always “oh then they started this crap.” Or “this didn’t have to be this difficult if you just cooperated.” And it’s pretty sad when a 15 year old knows about their state laws better than a person who’s supposed to have a fully developed frontal cortex and who’s job it is to uphold those very same laws.

Too many of these individuals with badges don’t know the law. Their lack of basic knowledge is why taxpayers have to bear the burden of their ignorance. If you and I go on our jobs and don’t know our job, we get replaced. Time to either change the basic qualifications and increase the penalties; or increase the qualifications to reduce incidents like this. You have more stringent qualifications to be a cosmetologist than a cop in the U.S.

One good outcome of this abysmal confrontation is the entire police dept was required to take First Amendment law training, as all professional LEO's should be required to do on at least a quarterly basis, just as other professionals are required to complete reoccurring update training such as CPA's, medical personal, real estate agents, etc.
