He took over the situation just as soon as it became painfully clear that officer moron was taking a completely boneheaded approach to the situation. I loved watching him squirm and awkwardly stand there, trying to find something to do with his hands, & being basically dressed down by the mere conversation going on between Travis and the Sarge. It was like a slap in his face, and was all done 100% cordially and politely. THAT is why he couldn't resist the urge to have the last word before he drove off. He's a big, powerful, street-talkin' man whenever his Sgt is not around. Otherwise, he puts on that fake "humble trainee" body language, lookin' like he wanna shine his Sarge's boots foh him.

He could have said "sorry Travis just checking if all was ok" Nope he let his total ego get in the way just so he could prove he knows everything. Got yourself way over your head, think, deliberate and educate. Ok Travis time to let the cop go now. I know I have done the same thing on a no ticket traffic stop, but it still does not feel good thinking maybe this helps doing it this way when your rights are just getting stomped on. I was on the interstate traveling across the country and there were cops all over on both sides causing this huge jam up, remember the speed limit was 70 and just with all these cops for about 5 miles it caused some real hazards.

Ahh America, home of the free, land of the brave. What's happened to that. In this day and age a man can't load up his vehicle, travel freely, mind his own business, without constantly having the police called on him for being suspicious. And when men with guns and badges are called you never know if Rambo is going to show up. God bless you Travis.

12:55 - This cop is a corporal and STILL doesn't know BASIC LAW! He must have got his badge out of Cornflakes packet. He could have just walked back to his car, said "have a good day" and driven off, but because his EGO IS OUT OF CONTROL, he just had to keep PUSHING IT!. He should be reprimanded by his Sergeant. The Sergeant had no problem with it, so the corporal had no business continuing any discussion with Travis. There is CLEARLY A DISCIPLINARY ISSUE HERE!

that corporel is angry he came up with an attitude and did not get his fix of ID for parking in a Publicly Available Car Park he wanted his ID and lied openly about the library. Corporel blaming Travis for his attitude Shameful. He actually said it Ignorance of the law is no excuse, he missed unless you are a cop. He actually did say it was a traffic stop when he started all the if you are in the driver's seat you are operating a motor vehicle. The people of Ridgeland should be very proud calling police on a man parked well away from the building but still it is suspicious he was there in the morning and here again in the afternoon, we feel he is suspicious, we need him checked out.

There are parts of Wisconsin and other places where people pronounce the letter R in a word with none - like instead of saying wash they say warsh . And they are white folks. So whenever I hear people making a deal about people who say axed instead of asked , I don't quite understand why because it is just a regional pronunciation like people do in lots of other places with lots of words.

Lol. The first officer obviously doesn't understand the 4th amendment. This was a defacto detainment because of the way he positioned he car when he arrived. He blocked in Travis's car by positioning he vehicle in front of it. So would any reasonable person looking at the cop car location believe that they where free to leave? Absolutely not. Then asking for ID instantly. It's a suspicious person, it's a traffic stop because you're in the car, it's loitering (at the end), any business can ask you to leave, that is any privately owned business, government entity have an entirely different set of rules for them to ask a person to leave. The Sgt just decided this isn't worth the trouble because he knew Travis isn't going to give ID unless a crime or violation is articulated that requires him to ID.
