I decided to leave and I know tons of cops who are leaving for the same reason I did. But while I was there the training was inadequate. I had to educate myself and by doing so I became a better cop learning not to violate rights. Many cops are evil.. but this is a case by case thing. Most cops are just horrible people but I won't say all.

Just a random man walking outside his home, and the cop automatically thinks he's guilty of something. The cop should've had the charges for obstructing his own investigation. I'm going to assume you are fairly new to these type of videos and only recently having your awakening moment on how bad thing are. But qualified immunity makes it so you can't sue police. You can sue the department and the city/county but it's still payed be the tax payers that they work for.

All the violations and retaliation aside, I'm most disgusted with the lecture from the LT about "not being nice or lady like" ... for FREE SPEECH. Also, I like how the whole discussion and threats are based around a neighbor calling and claiming they shot a weapon.. that is apparently ALL the evidence needed to arrest them for that charge, and for demanding ID and cooperation

What? That’s it? This is open and shut, lawsuit!!!! How are they still fighting charges?

All these police body cams, witnesses, home video, are all immaterial. When you have police unions, qualified immunity, corrupt superior officers and as in this case corrupt judges as well, the cops just laugh this kind of stuff off over a few beers in the local police bar. If a case manages to make it to court and the police are found guilty and don't manage to get qualified immunity, the citizens/tax payers get stuck with any finacial punishment to which, again, the cops retire to the local cops bar and celebrate with a few beers, whoops, and high fives. In this case, to hold a hostage at the police station until her husband "gives himself up" makes you think that the cops don't give a toss about the laws or constitution because this was not just a case of retalliation, it was a matter of REVENGE. It's got to the point that if any cop is spotted in a neighbourhood, go inside and lock the doors and DON'T answer the door, for your own safety, just like in the old westerns when the bad guy rides into town, it's the only way to stay safe when cops are around.

The worst part is there are charges still pending. Corruption from the police to the DA up to the judge.

Always fight for dismissal, then SUE!

This "case" still pisses me off. Nothing like police retaliation because the police themselves illegally detained, and kidnapped, two individuals who DID NOTHING ILLEGAL.

Simple question would be “how does showing ID help investigate this call?”.

They need to get a good lawyer and hold those corrupt dishonest abusive cops.
