Cop Spends 8 MONTHS Trying To Catch An Escaped Beefalo | The Dodo Comeback Kids
Sponsored by GEICO.
Police Captain Ed spent ALL his free time trying to rescue an escaped beefalo named "Buddy" in Connecticut. He tried night vision goggles, a drone, and even hid for hours in a trailer. It was all worth it when Buddy was finally rescued and brought down to Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary in Florida.

You can't blame the beefalo for running away. He didn't want to end up as a brisket on someone's dining table.
".....eight boxes of Girl Scout cookies in a day". "It's all about the kids. Just tryin' to help the kids."
He saved his own life. His escape and evasion skills are amazing.
Respect to Buddy. He seeked his freedom by escaping the slaughterhouse and yet he wouldn't hurt a fly. Incredible.
I feel like we often forget about the animals that are massed produced for human consumption like cows and how complex and intelligent they really are. They’re not just mindless meat bags, they have feelings and form bonds with others.
“My grandson has to be taken care of” it’s the cutest thing that she calls buddy her grandson😭
"There's a bull running up the street"
I absolutely loved it when the officer’s wife was telling the story about how her husband brought her to the place where Buddy was hanging and silenced then quietly saying
The fact that he was so scared broke my heart. Imagine what all those babies feel knowing they are about to be slaughtered.
Buddy’s very brave he got himself out of a terrible situation and ended up in a great new home. What an awesome story
I’m from CT, and it’s absolutely true that the people of Plymouth rallied behind Buddy. People were constantly trying to help find him. Some of the signs people made and left along the road were hysterical. Everyone involved was happy he survived and made it to a sanctuary. ❤️
I love how happy this officer is that Buddy made it to the sanctuary, thank you for helping him make it to a safe home!
Reminds me of a cow that escaped the farmer to join a herd of European bisons. They protect her from wolves.
"I hope he doesn't try to jump over the fence when he sees me..."
Much respect to the officer who genuinely cared for Buddy’s well being. He even made a trip to Florida to visit Buddy. That was a very sweet gesture. I love sanctuaries that give animals a second chance and a loving home.
Was afraid to watch thinking he would wind up back at the butcher! Shows how these meat animals have feeling and are so smart. What a great home for these cool animals!
Ed: "I'm sure Buddy won't remember me." Buddy: "This mother f$cker is back!"
Another story that would make an awesome children's book.
So glad that 1 out of hundreds of thousands of bulls got a wholesome life.
This whole video is epic, that policeman has a heart of gold, the town is full of wonderful people, the people who run that sanctuary are amazing and buddy is an absolute legend. Go buddy, live your dreams 😀
