In Texas, they're trained to assume everyone is a member of the "Republic of Texas", a loose Confederation of Nut-jobs who think that the State of Texas joining the Union was illegal, and they still think they live in the Wild Wild West. @@hipplel because the cop response back to the lawsuit. He admitted that the ONLY reason the pulled the gun on the guy is because of his one hand in the pocket. He said he was only looking for parking violations and said the guy ducked behind a vehicle and the cop actually went to a resident to call for backup. These all contradict the video evidence. The cop did none of those. This shows this guy is correct. The police dept is indeed corrupted.

It's not unusual for police to ride around neighborhoods and just watch people. I was raised around cops and it still makes me uneasy. I was working on my motorcycle and a cop just stopped and watched for a few minutes. I got up finally and said "can I help you officer?" and he drove off without a word. Suspicious stuff.

Well the camera man shouldn’t have filmed the officer without his consent in the first place. Then the cop asks the camera man to take his hand out of his pocket and we all know that police ask for people to take their hand out of their pocket or both pockets whatever the case my be because a cop wouldn’t know if someone were to have a weapon in their pocket. But the camera man is still for some whatever reason still argues with the cop.That’s why the cop pulled out his gun. But to make things even worse is that camera man decides to back away from the cop and that’s why the cop still had his gun in his hand and was walking towards the camera man.

You can not pull a gun unless your life is in danger. How does a cop feel in danger over a camera?

If a private citizen behaved like this cop, they would go to prison for a long time; why are cops held to a lower standard than the average citizen?

Could have had a call about a suspicious person. We don’t know. 2. After 13 years in law enforcement, I’ve learned you never know what someone is going to do when approached. If the officer has a reason to be approaching a Citizen he's required to inform the citizen. Filming a police officer is not a crime and should not be treated like one. Police don't have the right to tell citizens what to do, and if people have loaded weapons around me I tend to be less than calm I never said this guy wasn't a jackass but guess what, it's not illegal to be a jackas This police officer was also recording the citizen, must've been a real serious crime right? No he was a butt hurt old asshole using his badge as a means to be intrusive. Having different ideas of how this should have played out doesn't make you smarter than me.
