You can take Trump away, next month, in six months, in six years but you have two additional Trump picked constitutionalist judges on the Supreme Court to thwart any unconstitutional bullshit attempted by the misguided liberals. If the American public did NOT demand to KNOW on the spot when a plane crashed all details--then time COULD be spent on COLLECTING the facts. But that is no longer allowed by this PUBLIC. The same with any and ALL events. This demand for "INSTANT" gratification has led to reporters giving the WHO-WHAT-when that they do have at that time. Then needing to UPDATE later. When the NEWS was a Public Service--we waited. That died --when NEWS was shoved into regular programing and was FORCED to be part of the PROFITS. Reporters had no darn choice.

There are bigger problems coming up in NOVEMBER. Begin with their are major players in the Republicans party who had invested heavy into voting machines and distribute these machines across 40 States. Why the heck does Mitt Romney even own an company that make United States voting machines? Now kindly work with me and say, Hmmm,... These 40 states proprietary voting machines are strictly program blocked and I do mean with no accountability rechecks. All the suspicious 40'ish states voting machines has noxx-once been requested for a recalls investigation for possibility malicious intent. Meaning, replaced them with readable paper ballots before this important November elections. Even -bootlicking- Kansas Governor Kris Kobach was on his way of losing from a large margin until a very questionable 9:00 PM -rigged- voting machines had a nasty crisis and glitched up for hours and you had guessed it. Kobach became the new spanky Governor of Kansas thee' following morning. Even RIP John McCain would of asked why do we have voting machines we can't check for voting accuracy, not even a validated papers Trails? 😲🤔 Directing back to everything I said why isn't Donald Trump not using one of his famous talking key points in Rally's? Accept or reject his words as you please. This is as far from a 'tell-all' scandal expose as it gets. FEAR reveals the truth about what many Americans have long suspected. I am 70, old enough to remember the Mc Carthy hearings and Edward R. Murrow's now iconic reply; the Vietnam protests; the Watergate era. A responsible, free press is the backbone of any functioning democracy. Woodward is far too mature and ethical to be merely sniping. He has my every confidence.

He has followed his training and instincts to once again expose truth. But if some people choose to ignore his conclusions, all they need do is listen to Trump damn himself from his own mouth, over and over. Those who can ignore that have either no integrity or basic intelligence. As has been asked by others far wiser than I am, even if we rid ourselves of the source of the poison, what do we do about the millions of irredeemable lemmings that will still be here? They’ve been given a spotlight and attention. Will they just crawl back under their rocks and disappear? How can they be reached? I despair.

This is the most terrifying and and well documented book I have ever read. The title is perfect, we have had nearly two years of trump inflicted fear for every aspect of our lives. Yes, we were aware of dysfunction and chaos but never has it been this completely and meticulously researched and cross referenced by witnesses. I can't imagine what Mr. Woodward must have gone through in the process of compiling and writing it. It takes an incredible journalist to have accomplished this book. Our current situation is much worse that Nixon's Watergate which I still remember vividly.

I'm a boomer born in '47, Pres. Truman era. We did the duck and cover nonsense in schools but, basically had normal childhood experiences for that time frame. Running free and unsupervised, play defined by neighborhoods, little fear of strangers. My hero was Dag Hammarskjold, and favorite places to go were the movie matinees and the library, my father made us all avid readers. Of course we were well aware of the nuclear threat but my father who had been in both world wars gave us confidence in our defense. Racism was not anything we lived with in our medium size, industrial based northern town until the mid 50's. I was appalled first as I learned about the horrid conditions and fear black Americans were living with and then stunned by some adult responses to a movement for freedom that was long overdue. My first experience of hypocritical patriotism and fear of change. That was, for me, real fear for the validity of what America stood for and disgust at the uproar of negativity against American people peacefully working for our most basic value of freedom. That was the beginning of a cultural "choosing up sides." I can't express in words how vicious and violent the response was from the "established order" toward anyone who supported or worked with the freedom movement and that was north, south, east and west. So from early teens to young adulthood my life was one of protesting racism, war and political corruption while the leaders we loved and followed where killed one by one and cities burned. The 50's was the fake America that gave lip service to what were supposed to be and enjoyed their track homes, finned cars and Rotary Clubs in smug satisfaction. That was fear not of bombs but of a pervading cultural mindset resistant to change and the future. But that fear was not debilitating as this fear for democracy dying is today. We were sustained by what was called the "counter culture" of leaders, songs, writings and gatherings. What is happening now is terrifying because it is organized around the backing of almost an entire political party, corporate interest, fox news and other media, despicable 'rallies' where lies and hate are spewed on live TV by elected officials who have no problem with Russia attacking us in a new form that strikes at the heart of our government, not a stand-off between us and the bear over bombs but more destructive than if they had nuked DC. Our defenses against this new form of attack had not, and are still not, sufficient. Through Citizens United our elections are being bought by special interest corporations and individuals who hide in the shadows and hire PR and data research to mind f/ck voters in culturally targeted ways. Now one of the most despised tabloid and television personality is a elected to the highest office by special interest and no one, not the executive branch, not the soon to be complicit courts and not the congress is stopping our destruction and corruption. THAT IS REAL FEAR. Through the 50's and 60's we still internally knew that if we persisted our fellow citizens would discard the George Wallace types and the majority would begin to accept that change was needed. Today that faith is lacking as trump hints of armed conflict if he is impeached and untold numbers of nazis, firsters and ultra conservative organization that are extremely well funded pull the strings of a government I have loved and cherished even while fighting to change her imperfections. This new horror we are living through is based on a concerted, organized daily assault not only on our values but on the very structures, entities and functions of our government and our alliances. We are being faced with an assault from within aligned with a foreign assault from without and too many Americans are becoming numbed a complacent to the daily outrage against us. well, I bet both you and CNN are tired of me but you asked for comment on a sensitive issue for me. The past is dead, we have no power in the past and what trump is selling as the 'great again' never existed. Our power is now, every day acting in any way one can to preserve, protect and defend our present and build our future with value that work and facts to build with.

I'm pretty sure if it comes to light that he was aware Russia was meddling in the elections, which let's be real, is looking like he did, then he has essentially committed the highest form of treason to your country willingly in the highest level of office. I think he will be charged with the death penalty. Prison just would be to fair for how he's destabilized the western world for the foreseeable future. I don't even believe pedophiles and murders should get capital punishment but this is the only punishment fitting for treason of America, and all her remaining allies.

I hope u are keeping up with your local elections as well. So many people all over aren't registered to vote but they are more willing now if not in the past. It's all about your own local elections turnout. Make sure u know what's going on locally!

It's so amazing how many people in #45's administration are blasting this man, mainly #45, but i find even more amazing that when you go back and look at the statements made by him when Woodward wrote a scathing book about the Obama administration. #45 himself made many statements about how much a great guy Woodward was, how amazing the book was and now that he's the subject of a book like this by the same man, he's everything but the child of God, you can't write this crap in a Hollywood script.

Ikr!!!! This was from 2 years ago!! Apparently per progressive media, Woodward did this before during the bush administration right before he was getting ready to release a book. Wish he would've handled things in the best interest of the American people (and the world basically) as opposed to raking in as much money as possible...

One of the things I found interesting in the book is that one of Trump's major campaign funders was a hedge fund, Renaissance Technologies, for the class of drugs known as quinolones, which hydroxychloroquin belongs to. I only knew this from a personal experience I had involving another drug that's part of the same family of drugs that the FDA said "more harm than good" though it's still out there widely used. So many books, so little time!

Bob Woodward surpassed Steven King for 2018's best horror novel. Just the first three chapters scared the crap out of me!

Years ago, I had a friend who got himself into trouble. He had his lawyer call me to ask if I'd be a character witness for him. I told his lawyer the truth. I told him that he did NOT want me on the witness stand because I had personal first hand knowledge that he had committed the act that he was accused of and also committed similar acts before. I told him that I liked "John" and considered him a close personal friend but that I would not lie for him either. Then I asked him "hypothetically" that I know that even the guilty have a constitutional right to a legal defense but, as an officer of the court, how does he defend someone, knowing that he is guilty, without directly lying to the court? He said the defendant has the right to remain silent and is innocent until proven guilty. They wait for the prosecution to try and prove it's case and then, if necessary, attack it's theories with alternative possibilities and hope they raise a doubt in the jury's minds. That lying vermin, tRump should wise up and shut the fuck up before he bleeds out the last 31% / 36% of his base by convincing them that the Democrats were right about him all along.

There's no constitutional provision for annulment. Only impeachment or declaration of incompetence due to health. And both of those require 2/3 majority approval in the Senate. Which will never happen, even if the Democrats win _all_ the contested seats on November.
