COOL VINTAGE & REAL VALUES! | RESELLING PRICES | ANTIQUE MEET

WHAT WE GET & WHAT WE GOT! | ANTIQUE SHOW | ACTUAL PRICES | RESELL
We scour the American west for great old collectibles to resell for a profit, and here they are! Our booth at this weekend's Rose City Vintage Market is a hit, and we share what we bring and what we realize in this recap of my show space and the plethora of antiques we have to offer.
This video is a rare look at the booth right at the start of a show, before excited collectors come discover the fun stuff and finery and take it home to add to their collections. We usually don't have a chance to show our spaces right at the beginning, thankfully an early morning live TV appearance leads us to be here early enough (and be finished setting up enough) to share it fresh!
So many great vintage items have come our way this week, just in time for the show and just in time for you to see them before they fly off the shelves! We highlight a lot of those that did sell over the show weekend, with actual sold prices to help both resellers and vintage lovers see what the real world show market brings us. It's so great to get to give you a rare preview of the space in all its pre-sale glory!
Here's some of what we bring for resale to this tremendous new summer vintage market:
1890s gargoyle andirons, Marc Chagall print, modernist clock, Murano bowls & trays, golf ball lighter, French beer flange sign, Dansk tray, John Mosiman print, Chihuly print set, Haeger vase and candlestick set, New York World's Fair plates, Roseville bookends, Salterini table, Italian ceramics, McCoy happy face cookie jar, paper ephemera, Sascha Brastoff Alaska line, Westmoreland twist candlesticks, Viking Glass hippo, Viking Epic basket and compotes, Viking Bluenique duck, Blenko tangerine pitcher, Shawnee orange horse planter, Strini vase, resin grapes, Tropicana radio, Murano coolie, Hawaiian outrigger, Alice in Wonderland dresser box, Peanuts book, 1920s child's dish, People Lovers wind chime, beaver hat, counterculture comic books, Chun King ad umbrella, chalkware plaque in box, Sunoco ad radio, gold and silver jewelry, jade jewelry, gloves ad sign, Pike Place Market poster, billy club, Republican and Democrat 1940 convention tickets, Royal Dux owl, motel pen stand, 8 Ball character shakers, Space Needle pen, Gold Dust Twins box, Black Americana nodder, character book slide, Hollywood Regency brass/marble candlestick holders, Norcrest dog figures, Ford Gum dog ad bank, Rinconada sheep, 1950s I Like Ike license plate, opium pipes, 1920s mah-jongg set, poodle chain family, Stangl birds, Dresden compote, Czech pottery flower frog, 1940s Gouda vase, circa 1900 chromalith feed box, owl smoking stand, Jadeite Fire-King batter and mixing bowls, Kodak Autographic camera, Northwest mountain scene metal plaque, Carl Wagner horse bronze, painted indian woman bronze, Skookum dolls, leather circa 1910 indian dolls, Pendleton lap blankets, North Carolina duck carvings, McCoy tulip vase, chieftain statuette, Missouri Pacific railroad creamer, Zippo lighters, ceramic Native American miniatures, cap guns, creel, etc.

Enjoyed your video. I love antiquing but live out in the country past several years. These videos are special to me. I used to be a small time dealer back in the 90's. I made a profit though. Good evening, George! Wow! Those gargoyle andirons are fantastic! I've always liked interesting andirons. I've not seen the gargoyle ones before those. I would've been after the outrigger canoe. I'm still a kid when it comes to the pond boats. I especially like the older ones that have been played with a lot. Nice opium pipes. I had one years ago but sold it. I'd like to have one of the old beaver pelt hats, but I'd need a glass case to display it...and a place to put it. I like those German long porcelain pipes you have there. I used to have several of those...no idea what happened to them. If you ever come across a 1951 edition of a book titled, "La Razon De Mi Vida", at a good price, I'd be interested in it. It is by Eva Peron and is her autobiography. Do you still have the "Catherine Was Great" Mae West photo? If you do and know what you want for it, I'm interested in it, too. Great setup, George, and a tom of interesting items!!! Thanks for showing us about!!!

Good morning Antique Nomad! Wanted to thank you for the educational content. I got interested in certain types of Sterling China and especially the old glass...my first score was a blue Cobalt swirl vase from Indiana Glass about a year ago. Then a beautiful little Manhattan Glass ashtray. Ive been trying to pick up interesting crystal that catches my eye and to me it seems like crystal prices are low at this time? What's your opinion on that? I'm getting most of my crystal really cheap at Goodwill and a flea market near Gainesville Florida. If you're ever in the area the Chiefland flea market has things, lots to dig through a ton of indoor and outdoor vendors. I'm considering getting an inside store type booth, I try to rent one there once a month or so at this time. Sorry so long winded. You take care

I don't usually price before shows because it's my freshest merchandise and I gather right until the last minute! I price when they go into the malls and I"m not there to tell people the prices. George, I am curious as to the price you are asking for the candy tin with the palm trees on it. I recently purchased one at a Florida estate sale for $45. Thanks. Just wondering if I did ok on my purchase.

Your booth looked fantastic. I am glad the event was successful for you! 19:23 is the snail shaped, lavender ceramic item a flower frog? It is pretty spectacular.

It is! Weller's Lorbeek pattern, a very skyscraperish design from 1931 that's hard to find and ultra-deco

I don't price a lot, I honestly am picking and getting items on consignment right up to show time. I price afterwards when things go to the malls

I don't know how long after the fact you might read comments, but in any case here is an observation of mine of a behavior of yours I have found to be curious and somewhat inexplicable. I have noticed. On several occasions now in your videos, your commenting in a fairly irritated manner to your partner while shopping at flea markets. something to the effect of , "oh yes this person has nice/o.k. stuff, but knows what they've got and charges very high for it, or, "too much" ,or ,"nearly full retail" and leaves nothing for the reseller" (paraphrased), one time even implying that a vendor was kind of full of themselves because they knew the quality of their wares! Yet in every video you're 'commodifying' antiques, collectibles, vintage items and oddities, by reinforcing the idea of finding hidden treasures because someone else (or a thrift store, or some other venue) doesn't recognize the value of something they are selling (which you do regularly in your verbiage and language) so in other words, taking advantage of those less schooled or informed is something your videos promote. Now I recognize they may also educate, inform, and entertain, but they also encourage others to research, find bargains, look for sleeper items and try to turn a profit. So on the one hand you pretend to encourage to some extent, others to do some of what you do, and then on the other hand are periodically quite irritated/miffed at some folks (some folks in particular!?) when they are doing and pursuing what your videos appear to be all about. What gives? Wondering how you square that behavior in your mind exactly? And how you can not see that you (and other youtubers like you) are a big integral and obvious part of the trend of flea marketers, garage sellers, church bazzars and all the rest trying to become more savvy, and charging higher prices. 'Well they've got a lot of damn nerve now don't they?!' I like what you do overall and enjoy your videos. But you can also come across as a little snarky and condescending/superior at times. Other people may not be the font of knowledge r.e. antiques and collectibles that you are, but may possess other useful/admirable skills and characteristics not known or recognized by you. In short it's important to remain humble and recognize what your role is and what effects you may be having on the environment around you right? Thanks for the videos.
